  • False-tripping of MCCB(Molded Case Circuit Breaker) and ELB(Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker), using to protect overload and ground-fault accidents in power system raise direct and indirect losses like as information loss, facilities damage, slipup of goods production in industry place. Cause of false-tipping of MCCB and ELB is various and cause analysis of false-tripping is mostly made up by inference because trip is not reappeared. This paper investigated and analyzed causes and influences of false-tripping of MCCB and ELB by making up a question to safety managers of two hundred and eighteen electrical facilities for private use. Also, the necessity of experimental study on the effect of harmonics on false-tipping of MCCB and ELB was presented.

  • In this study, sand cast AZ91E and zirconium grain refined MEZ are representative of two typical groups of magnesium alloys: those containing aluminium and those containing no aluminium but with zirconium as a grain refiner. The corrosion performance of these two alloys was evaluated and compared in 5%wt NaCI solution through measurements of weight loss and polarisation curves and examination of microstructure. Corrosion damage of AZ91E was deeper and more localised than that of MEZ, while MEZ had a lower rate of cathodic hydrogen evolution and a higher rate of anodic dissolution than AZ91E. These differences in behaviour can be related to the differences in microstructure and chemical composition between the two alloys.

  • Large-area high-temperature superconducting (HTS) films, filter design and damage-free processing technique have been developed to fabricate low insertion loss and sharp skirt filters. Further, long life cryocooler, low temperature low noise amplifier (LNA) and cryocable have been developed to assemble HTS filter subsystem for IS-95 and IMT-2000 mobile telecommunication. The surface resistance of the films was about 0.2 milli-ohm at 70 K, 12 GHz. An 11-pole HTS filter for IS-95 telecommunication system and a 16-pole HTS filter for IMT-2000 telecommunication system were designed and fabricated using 60 {\times}$ 50 mm$^2$ and one half of 3-inch diameter YBCO films on a 0.5-mm-thick MgO substrate, respectively. We have assembled the filter and low temperature LNA in a dewar with the cryocooler. Ultra low-noise (noise figure: 0.5 dB at 70 K) and ultra sharp-skirt (40 dB/1.5 MHz) performance was presented by the IS-95 filter subsystem and the IMT-2000 filter subsystem, respectively.

  • Marine casuality causes not only loss of lives and ships, but also severs damages to marine environment and related economic activities such as fishing industry, sea farming, and tourist industry. Basically, the great effort should be made to prevent the occurrence of maritime accidents by any means. However, once accident has occurred, the salvage works should be done rapidly and properly based on theoretical and technical informations, which could minimize the risk during salvage operation and the overall damage from the maritime accidents. Generally, to calculate accurate hydrostatics of a stranded ship, a large amount of input data is needed. But, an availability and a reliability of input data cannot be guaranteed in most situations, and the adequate time required for preparing all input data is not allowed to perform the timely operations of salvage. In this paper, the development process of simple computer program for salvage operation using limited input data is introduced and its application example is presented. This program was developed to provide technical support for planning salvage operations in the grounding accident.

  • As structures are higher, large-sized and more complex, we should detect the fire at the beginning and cope with it to reduce the loss of mankind and the physical damage due to fire. So we have investigated and developed various kinds of fire detection system, and do the efforts for minimizing the nonfire alarm. As there exists a close relationship between the technology development and the market potential, a comparison between the number of fires in special buildings and detection types were made to find out market potential based on the annual statistics on fire products inspection. In addition, we have discussed the causes of nonfire alarm and the fire detection system and prospect the research trend of the fire detection system.

  • Sodium hydroxide or caustic soda is a corrosive agent that can cause extensive damage to the oral mucosa, lips, and tongue when ingested either accidentally or intentionally. These injuries include microstomia, shallow vestibule, ankyloglossia, speech impairment, loss of teeth and impairment in facial expression. In the present article, we report a unique case of tongue adhesion to the mouth floor and its surgical management in a 66-year-old female patient, who had a history of caustic soda ingestion.

  • Purpose: Loneliness is an extremely subjective experience that is influenced by life experiences and circumstances. This study attempted to provide basic data for the development of nursing intervention strategies to understand the concept of loneliness and to reduce loneliness on various topics. Methods: The research analysis method is based on the framework of concept analysis proposed by Walker and Avant (1988). Results: The results of this study are as follows: 1) Self-alienation 2) Isolation of human beings 3) Psychological damage reaction 4) Pain 5) Loneliness is the loss of a comfortable "frame". The prerequisites can be divided into personal characteristics and situational characteristics. Empirical criteria include intimate others, lack of social relationships or problems, family and friendship, belonging, recognition or expression of loneliness, emotional state changes and changes in health behavior, and physical symptoms. Conclusions: Loneliness is an important indicator of well-being and a cause of physical and mental illnesses, so nurses facing various subjects should be able to recognize the signs and symptoms of loneliness. By promoting and sustaining their interest, they should be able to enjoy lonely people.

  • Snap-buckling is one of the main failure modes of structures, because it will lead to the reduction of structural bearing capacity, durability loss and even structural damage. Boundary condition plays an important role in the research of engineering mechanics. Further discussion on the boundary conditions problems will help to analyze the dynamic and static behavior of structures more accurately. Therefore, in order to understand the dynamic and static behavior of curved beams more comprehensively, this paper mainly studies the nonlinear snap-through buckling and forced vibration characteristics of functionally graded graphene reinforced composites (FG-GPLRCs) curved beams with two different boundary conditions (including clamped-hinged and hinged-hinged) using Euler-Bernoulli beam theory (E-BBT). In addition, the effects of the curved beam radius, the GLPs distributions, number of GLPs layers, the mass fraction of GLPs and elastic foundation parameters on the nonlinear snap-through buckling and forced vibration behavior are discussed respectively.

  • Silk fibroin is likely to be hydrolyzed by acids or alkalies at high temperature, and the degree of the hydrolysis has been inferred from the changes in tensile strength and elongation. But, in this experiment, it was intended to infer that from the quantitative changes in terminal aminp group content as well as in tensile strength and elongation. Silk yarn was treated with boiling water, hydrochloric acid, and sodium hydroxide under various conditions. The boiling water somewhat degraded silk fibroin. Silk yarn treated with sodium hydroxide contained more terminal amino group than that treated with hydrochloric acid. This result agreed fairly well with the loss in weight, tensile strength, and elongation: the terminal amino group content increased with the decrease of tensile strength, elongation, and weight. The damage by sodium hydroxide to the silk fibroin was greater than that by hydrochloric acid.

  • Inundation of substation and underground power equipment(pad-mounted transformers & switches) breaks out every summer season in low-lying downtown and low-lying shore by localized heavy rain, typhoon and tidal wave. In case inundation of substation and underground power equipment, it occurs a great economic loss owing to recovery time and events of electric shock occur by inundation electrical facility. So we search the damage situation and installation situations. Therefore we propose the necessity of protection of flood at low-lying downtown and low-tying shore. This paper will be used to present a reform proposal of electrical related law about flood protection of existing power equipment.
