Evaluation of Grooving Corrosion and Electrochemical Properties of H2S Containing Oil/Gas Transportation Pipes Manufactured by Electric Resistance Welding

  • Electrical Resistance Welding (ERW) on a longitudinal seam-welded pipe has been extensively used in oil and gas pipelines. It is well known that the weld zone commonly suffers from grooving corrosion in ERW pipes. In this paper, the grooving corrosion performances of API X65 grade non-sour service (steel-A) and API X70 grade sour gas resistant (steel-B) steel electrical resistance welding pipelines were evaluated. The microstructure of the bondline is composed of coarse polygonal ferrite grains and several elongated pearlites. The elongated pattern is mainly concentrated in the center of the welded area. The grooving corrosion test and electrochemical polarization test were conducted to study the corrosion behavior of the given materials. A V-shaped corrosion groove was found at the center of the fusion zone in both the steel-A and steel-B ERW pipes, as the corrosion rate of the bondlines is higher than that of the base metal. Furthermore, the higher volume fraction of pearlite at the bondline was responsible for the higher corrosion rate at the bondline of both types of steel.

띠형 강보강재에 설치된 수동저항부재의 설치 특성에 따른 상호간섭계수 평가 (Evaluation on Degree of Interference Based on Installation Characteristics of Transverse Members Installed in Steel Strip Reinforcement)

  • 본 연구에서는 띠형 강보강재에 '${\sqcap}$' 형태의 수동저항부재를 설치하는 보강재에 대한 인발시험 결과를 바탕으로 수동저항부재의 간격 및 설치위치에 따른 간섭효과를 분석하였다. 수동저항부재에서 발현되는 최대수동저항력은 수동저항부재의 설치 위치에 따라 차이가 발생하였으며, 전면벽체에 근접하여 설치된 수동저항부재에서 더 큰 수동저항력이 발현되는 것을 확인하였다. 최대인발력을 사용하여 간섭계수(DI)를 평가한 결과, 지지부재 직경과 간격의 비(S/B)가 동일한 경우에는 수동저항부재의 설치 위치에 따른 인발력 차이를 반영하지 못하는 것으로 평가되었다. 그러나 최대수동저항력을 사용하여 간섭계수(F)를 산정할 경우에는 수동저항부재의 설치 간격뿐만 아니라, 수동저항부재의 설치 위치에 따른 최대수동저항력 차이를 반영하는 것으로 분석되었다.

Nonlinear response of the pile group foundation for lateral loads using pushover analysis

  • The pile group foundation is widely used for gravity pier of high-speed railway bridges in China. If a moderate or strong earthquake occurs, the pile-surrounding soil will exhibit obvious nonlinearity and significant pile group effect. In this study, an improved pushover analysis model for the pile group foundation with consideration of pile group effect is presented and validated by the quasi-static test. The improved model uses simplified springs to simulate the soil lateral resistance, side friction and tip resistance. PM (axial load-bending moment) plastic hinge model is introduced to simulate the impact of the axial force changing of pile group on their elastic-plastic characteristics. The pile group effect is considered in stress-stain relations of the lateral soil resistance with a reduction factor. The influence factors on nonlinear characteristics and plastic hinge distribution of the pile group foundation are discussed, including the pier height, longitudinal reinforcement ratio and stirrup ratio of the pile, and soil mechanical parameters. Furthermore, the displacement ductility factor, resistance increase factor and yielding stiffness ratio are provided to evaluate the seismic performance of soil-pile system. A case study for the pile group foundation of a railway simply supported beam bridge with a 32 m-span is conducted by numerical analysis. It is shown that the ultimate lateral force of pile group is not determined by the yielding force of the single one in these piles. Therefore, the pile group effect is essential for the seismic performance evaluation of the railway bridge with pile group foundation.

2,5000톤급 삼동선의 저항추진특성 (Powering Performance Characteristics of 2,5000 Ton Class Trimaran)

  • 본 논문에서는 2,500톤급 삼동형 호위구축함의 선형설계와 저항추진특성에 대한 연구 결과를 보인다. 보조선체의 형상과 그 설치 위치가 삼동선의 저항성능에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위하여 일련의 저항시험과 수치계산을 수행하였다. 그리고 삼동선의 추진효율을 조사하기 위하여 추진시험을 수행하였으며, 실선 크기에서 삼동선과 유사 단동선들의 저항추진성능을 비교하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 보조선체의 길이 방향 위치가 삼동선의 저항특성에 큰 영향을 미치며, 보조선체의 형상과 폭 방향의 위치는 그 영향이 작은 것을 알 수 있었다. 보조선체의 중심이 길이 방향으로 주선체의 선수나 선미 가까운 곳에 설치될 때 삼동선의 저항성능이 우수한 결과를 보였는데, 이는 주선체로부터 생성된 가장 큰 선수파의 파저에 보조선체의 선수가 놓이는 곳이다. 그리고, 삼동선의 저항추진성능은 유사 단동선에 비하여 중속 이상의 구간에서 우수한 결과를 보였다.

한국 성인의 식사 패턴과 인슐린 저항성 간의 상관성: 2015년도 국민건강영양조사를 이용하여 (The association of dietary patterns with insulin resistance in Korean adults: based on the 2015 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey)

  • 본 연구는 제6기 2015년도 국민건강영양조사 자료를 활용하여 만 19-64세 한국 성인의 주요 식사 패턴을 도출한 후, 식사 패턴과 인슐린 저항성 간의 상관성을 분석하기 위해 수행되었다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 대상자의 식사 패턴을 요인분석 방법으로 분석한 결과, 'Healthy Korean meal pattern', 'Western meal pattern', 'White rice, alcohol, meat pattern'으로 나타났다. 'Healthy Korean meal pattern' 점수가 높을수록 연령이 높게 나타났으며, 식사 패턴에 따른 영양소 섭취량 분석 결과, 'Healthy Korean meal pattern' 섭취 점수가 높을수록 총 에너지, 탄수화물, 단백질, 비타민 A, 비타민 C, 칼슘, 인, 철, 칼륨, 식이섬유의 섭취가 유의하게 증가하였으며 'Western meal pattern' 섭취 점수가 높을수록 총 에너지, 단백질, 지방, 콜레스테롤의 섭취가 유의하게 증가하였고, 'White rice, alcohol, meat pattern' 점수가 높을수록 총 에너지와 나트륨의 섭취는 유의하게 증가하였고, 탄수화물, 비타민 C, 칼슘, 인, 칼륨, 식이섬유의 섭취는 유의하게 감소하였다. 식사 패턴에 따른 인슐린 저항성의 위험도를 분석한 결과 'Healthy Korean meal pattern'과 'Western meal pattern'은 인슐린 저항성과 유의한 연관성을 보이지 않았고, 'White rice, alcohol, meat pattern'은 인슐린 저항성의 위험도와 양의 연관성을 보였다. 이상의 결과로부터 'White rice, alcohol, meat pattern'의 식사를 많이 할수록 인슐린 저항성의 위험도가 높아지는 것을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구는 단면연구라는 제한점이 있으므로 향후 식사 패턴과 인슐린 저항성의 상관성을 확인할 수 있는 전향적 코호트 등의 연구가 필요하다.

크롬질화박막형 스트레인 게이지의 특성 (The Characteristics of Chromiun Nitride Thin-Film Strain Gauges)

  • This paper presents characteristics of CrN thin-film strain gauges, which were deposited on glass by DC reactive magnetron sputtering in an argon-nitrogen atmosphere(Ar-$(5{\sim}25%)N_2$). The physical and electrical characteristics of these films investigated with the thickness range $3500{\AA}$ of CrN thin films, annealing temperature $(100{\sim}300^{\circ}C)$ and annealing $(24{\sim}72hr)$. The optimized condition of CrN thin-film strain gauges were thickness range of $3500{\AA}$ and annealing condition($300^{\circ}C$, 48 hr) in Ar-10 %$N_2$ deposition atmosphere. Under optimum conditions, the CrN thin-films for strain gauge is obtained a high resistivity, ${\rho}=1147.65{\mu}{\Omega}cm$, a low temperature coefficient of resistance, TCR=$-186ppm/^{\circ}C$ and a high temporal stability with a good longitudinal, 11.17. And change in resistance after annealing for the CrN thin-films were quitely linear and stable.

전자부품의 방열방향에 따른 접촉열전도 특성 (Characterization of a Thermal Interface Material with Heat Spreader)

  • The increasing of power and processing speed and miniaturization of central processor unit (CPU) used in electronics equipment requires better performing thermal management systems. A typical thermal management package consists of thermal interfaces, heat dissipaters, and external cooling systems. There have been a number of experimental techniques and procedures for estimating thermal conductivity of thin, compressible thermal interface material (TIM). The TIM performance is affected by many factors and thus TIM should be evaluated under specified application conditions. In compact packaging of electronic equipment the chip is interfaced with a thin heat spreader. As the package is made thinner, the coupling between heat flow through TIM and that in the heat spreader becomes stronger. Thus, a TIM characterization system for considering the heat spreader effect is proposed and demonstrated in detail in this paper. The TIM test apparatus developed based on ASTM D-5470 standard for thermal interface resistance measurement of high performance TIM, including the precise measurement of changes in in-situ materials thickness. Thermal impedances are measured and compared for different directions of heat dissipation. The measurement of the TIM under the practical conditions can thus be used as the thermal criteria for the TIM selection.

고압용 코롬질화박막형 압력센서의 제작과 그 특성 (The Fabrication of Chromium Nitride Thin-Film Type Pressure Sensors for High Pressure Application and Its Characteristics)

  • This paper describes the fabrication and characteristics of CrN thin-film type pressure sensors, in which the sensing elements were deposited on SuS. 630 diaphragm by DC reactive magnetron sputtering in an argon-nitride atmosphere(Ar-(10%)N$_2$). The optimized condition of CrN thin-film sensing elements was thickness range of 3500$\AA$ and annealing condition(300$\^{C}$, 3 hr) in Ar-10%N$_2$ deposition atmosphere. Under optimum conditions, the CrN thin-films for strain gauges is obtained a high resistivity, ρ=1147.65 $\mu$Ωcm, a low temperature coefficient of resistance, TCR=186ppm/$\^{C}$ and a high temporal stability with a good longitudinal, 11.17. The output sensitivity of fabricated CrN thin-film type pressure sensors is 2.36 mV/V, 4∼20nA and the maximum non-linearity is 0.4%FS and hysteresis is less than 0.2%FS.

PL법 환경하에서 열 충격에 따른 전력케이블의 재료분석 및 사고위험성 (The Accident Hazard and Material Analysis of Power Cable due to Thermal Stress under PL System)

  • It is impossible to database(DB) the patterns of power cable events and cause analysis of faulted cable because the product liability(PL) law have been enforced in Korea, since 2002. In additions, simulation and pattern of power cable events are needed for DB system under accelerated deterioration. In this paper, we tested for resistance to cracking of cable below the 22.9kV class due to thermal stresses. This method of exam is following IEC 60811-3-1(Common test methods for insulating and sheathing materials of electric cables). From the results, The 22.9kV calss A power cable was discolored on the surface and significantly reduced in the longitudinal direction. As the thermal weight properties of A power cable was definitely varied, we are able to guess the problem of manufacture. If the cable was defect by the manufacture, the victims would be able to claim for damage in the PL system.

Flexural behaviour and capacity of composite panels of light gage steel and concrete

  • Eight panel specimens were tested in one-way bending to study the behaviour and capacity of composite slab joists consisting of cold-formed steel C-sections and concrete. Various shear transfer mechanisms were implemented on the C-section flange embedded in the concrete to provide the longitudinal shear resistance. Results showed that all specimens reached serviceability limit state while in elastic range and failure was ductile. Shear transfer achieved for all specimens ranged from 42 to 99% of a full transfer while specimens employed with shear transfer enhancements showed a greater percentage and therefore a higher strength compared with those relying only on surface bond to resist shear. The implementation of pre-drilled holes on the embedded flange of the steel C-section was shown to be most effective. The correlation study between the push-out and panel specimens indicated that the calculated moment capacity based on shear transfer resistance obtained from push-out tests was, on average, 10% lower than the experimental ultimate capacity of the panel specimen.
