The Purpose of this study is to examine logistics characteristics related to electronic commerce and to suggest improvement of logistics Service in electronic commerce. This paper concerns the logistics functions which are essential for completing a commerce process even under the EC environment and provides ways to improve the logistics performance. Electronic commerce have introduced two scenes; dramatic change of the existing distribution surroundings and noticeable achievement of the economic advance and social efficiency. But, in the same scene, electronic commerce can be a threat to business condition, especially logistics management. It suggests that for activation of EC it is necessary to strengthen the strategic alliances, introduce GPS and use the third party logistics positively to prepare for the settlements of traffic problems, support the introduction of integrated logistics service and logistics information system.

The information technology(IT) development of telecommunication, along with the informationalization over the world, enables the firms to process their inner and outer operations through Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) system. And the concept of logistics has become more important to the enterprises in strategic sense because it had aggrandized itself to more comprehensive and integrative concept. Also the world shipping market is more competitive than any other market. In these environment, to maintain competitve power, shipping firms process operations by Logistics Information system(LIS), And then, reduce the working processes, working time and its costs. So the LIS has become more important in developing our national logistics system and industry. Therefore, this study purposes on empirically analyzing the activation factors of shipping LIS and the relationship these factors with logistic performances in the shipping industry. Considering environments of Shipping logistics information system, this study sets up the research model and hypothesis to examine the activation factors of shipping LIS and the relationship these factors with logistic performances. We used the field data on the 163 numbers of firms(29 overseas shipping companies and 133 forwarding Agency) to get the empirical evidence. According to the study results, The shipping LIS activation factors which the sample firms recognized as important: were top manager's support, well structured communication channel, strategic plan's connection and inner informationalization level. And IS organization ＆ human resources, IS discipline ＆ training, software development, IS organizational alignment, database management system, information standardization, competitive advantage, financial support and government support represent partially significant. Also, the current shipping LIS's main problems are expensive system cost, standardization of working process's, institution's imperfection and system's interaction defect. So these problems must be improved to activate shipping LIS.

The aim of this study is to suggest the direction of implementing the new defense logistics systems for the network centric warfare in the future. For this purpose, we reviewed SARL(Sense and Response Logistics) which receives great attention from the U.S. Department of Defence as the future logistic concept of network centric warfare, coupled with recent development in information technologies which give technical revolution in the future logistics information system. Also, we analyzed problems underlying logistics information system currently used in the Korean Armed Forces. Finally, we suggested the direction of implementing the new logistics information system for the network centric warfare, expecting to reduce total logistics cost, speed up logistics velocity, and enhance the efficiency of the combat support.

The compatibility of the enterprises of Korea was the 'low cost and mass production＆apos;. That in because, the entire business transactions including production, accounting, personnel management, and logistics need to be integrated with a global perspective. Logistics information system is to support the management of such logistics activities and involves in a wide range of the business operations. In other words, the logistics information system is 0 accurately and rapidly deliver and process the information available for the logistics in order to promote more smoother and efficient logistics by using such information. I'll give a brief introduction to the SRM(Supplier Relationship Management) system and go into the problem that should be considered and which phase to emphasize when building this system.

IMO has enacted a convention that air pollution due to emissions of ships and sulfur oxides emissions should be significantly reduced by 2020. Based on the current support policies, this work intended to draw up the government support plans required by the shipping companies. Analytic Hierarchy Process analysis was done with factors derived from brainstorming and literature studies. The analysis results showed that the cost factor was generally the most important criterion and the Financial Aid was relatively more important within this cost factor. The policy implications for the regulation of sulfur oxides emissions was provided.

Platform standardization is widely used in commercial auto industries and other industries to acquire cost reduction as well as high reliability. This paper reviews some application examples and estimates expected effect of Korean army's platform standardization for combat system and combat support system. Also, military platform standardization based on utilization of commercial vehicles has been studied with the standard vehicles used in Korean army. It is estimated that outstanding results may be achieved if a dual platform, the public and military platforms, is utilized. So, when the strategy of the military transportation system is decided, "dual use" concept is necessary and this could maximize the effect of the military strategy reinforcement.

Although advanced weapon system weapons with high-performance and various functions have been developed, weapon defects can be fatal in the weapons industry. Therefore, the army requires quality improvement to reduce the number of defects which occur during both the development and operation of the weapon system. Recently, many manufacturers, including weapons manufacturers, have conducted analyses using defect related big-data in order to improve the quality. However, there have been few data analyses, because it is difficult to obtain the data required for the analysis of the development phase. Therefore, this study summarizes the pattern of the weapon system, military organization, and defect types using the actual data of the Post-Logistics Support (PLS) phase. The PLS data, which is referred to as the data collected after force integration, includes information on requests for maintenance. Through this information, this study selects key variables and analyzes the selected variables. The analysis results show the critical factors to be considered during the development phase. Finally, this study proposes a framework for advanced PLS systems using the PLS data. The proposed framework enables the development time of weapon systems to be further shortened and their quality to be improved.

Great effort has been exerted to redesign the supply chain network as a means to improve corporate competitiveness. In this study, we present a mathematical model and a solution system to help redesign corporate logistics networks. The objective of the model is to minimize total logistics costs. We applied the solution system to real problem cases. We use the model and the concept to develop decision support system that is based on C++ with the use of CPLEX callable library as a solution engine. We tested and verified the DSS for redesigning the network of a large Korean electronics company. Through various scenario analyses. we recommend to redesign their supply chain network that demonstrates the possibility of substantial logistics cost savings.

Logistics has become a key element in a shipping firm's overall strategy, now that the concept of logistics has expanded into one that is more comprehensive and integrated. furthermore, the global shipping market is the most competitive market in the world. In this environment, shipping firms are using Logistics Information Systems (LIS), which help them to save time and reduce costs. As such, LIS has become a critical part of Korea's attempts to develop Its national logistics system and industry. In this light, this study attempted to empirically determine the critical elements necessary for effective shipping LIS implementation and to then analyze how these elements are related to actual logistics performance within the shipping industry. The research results show that the sample firms considered the following factors to be most Important to an effective LIS: the support of top management; an efficient and well-structured communication channel; a solid strategic implementation plan; and a high level of information analysis internally. Other factors mentioned as being somewhat significant included MIS organization and human resources, MIS discipline and training, software development capabilities, MIS organizational alignment, database management systems information standardization, competitive advantage, financial support and government support The main problems with current shipping LIS include the expensive cost of systems, lack of standardized working processes, and weak organizational structures.

With the globalization of economy, there is keen competition among countries to be a logistics hub and companies are striving to be first in establishing logistics system centering on advantageous sites, especially airport and seaports, to perform supply, production and distribution. Gwangyang port has been designated as Free Economy Zone. This paper analyzes many problems and presents various measures to activate Gwangyang port as follows regional economy to promote Gwangyang Free Economy Zone, governmental support, introduction & logistics functions, early development of the hinterland, investment attraction into the area and diversified promotion & marketing activities.
