The role of Logistics Information Technology(LIT) activity within the firm has broadened considerably over the past decade and it been a topic of growing importance for both practitioners and academicians since the mid-1990's as logistics efficiencies have become a main concern in today's business management. This research empirically examines the difference between firm characteristics and LIT activity, thus offers an strategic guideline for practicers.

In this research we present a new model, PLCM(Cort-Logistics Chain Management), which can cooperate each other in the port-logistic industry that occupy a heavy rain in the Northeast Asian economy. PLCM(Port-Logistics Chain Management) synthetically manages the logistic chain and information laying stress on the port. Unlike SCM, which hat a vertical relationship between the main groups to cooperate each other, PLCM has a horizontal relationchip between the ports to achieve common purpose and to improve their whole competitive power. In this research we present a concept of PLCM and a specific plan to develop a system for PLCM targetting Pusan, Shanghai, and Tokyo Port which occupy a heavy rain in the Northeast Asian port industry. This system is composed of integrated information system and EDI document exchange system according to the special quality of user's request information. And in order to prove its feasibility and validity, the case study sailing from Shanghai to Busan has been applied to this study.

The purpose of the study was to identify the relationship of the logistics activities with the overall performance among the Korean industries, in order to suggest ways of enhancing the level of effectiveness in logistics management. On the basis of current logistics literature and research data, an analysis had been attempted to provide the study with a theoretical framework, followed by an empirical research that analyzed, among the randomly selected companies, the relations between logistics activities and management policy; logistics activities and logistics environment; logistics environment and the usage of computer software; management policy and the usage of computer software; management policy and performance; logistics environment and performance. Analyses of the data suggested that the companies that lay heavy emphasis on logistics effectiveness showed higher performance; management policies of the companies are influenced by their logistics characteristics; the more strongly is a company oriented logistically, the higher effectiveness in logistics activities it maintains; there is a significant relationship between the logistics environment a company is operated in and the company's reliance on logistically oriented information technologies; there is a close relationship between a company's logistics activities and its business outcome.

A safe working environment is an important and crucial factor in the operation of a firm, and is also essential for logistics companies in supply chain management. This study confirmed that the safety climate and safety prevention activities have a positive relationship with safety behavior from the perspective of domestic small and medium-sized logistics companies that continue their business relationships by signing contracts with large logistics companies. In addition, the moderating role of regulatory uncertainty and competition uncertainty in the previous positive relationship was empirically examined.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to examine what expectations and mediating factors are needed as variables necessary for the intention to use logistics hollowing out, and at the same time, what factors strengthen medical SCM competitiveness. In order to develop competitive competency variables for medical institutions that affect the intention to use logistics cavitation, we would like to examine the key success factors applying AHP model analysis. Design/methodology/approach For AMOS analysis, we conducted an online survey of four universities and analyzed 212 samples. The analysis method used SPSS, and AMOS. We proposed several factors categorized as reliability, SCM advance, and scalability. Findings The results showed that all proposed variables (competitive competencies for HSCM, expected performance) had a significant impact on intention of physical distribution cooperation. According to the measurement methods proposed in this study, key success factors for strengthening the capacity of HSCM can increase the need for physical distribution cooperation through expected performance.

With the change of various business environments, needs for the third party logistics(3PL) service are strategically considered for securing core competitiveness of manufacturers in China. Thus, manufacturers not only have worked with 3PL service providers for cutting costs of logistics, but also they are willing to have Win-Win relationship with the 3PL service provider. In this paper, comparing situation and characteristics of both China and developed-countries, especially in the particularity of manufacturing companies in China. The most important thing is that 3PL service providers must be able to manage supply chain of manufacturers with logistic planning abilities and to operate logistics services with logistic infrastructures and IT systems. In the view of long-term development, incubating logistics specialists is also the influencing fact that makes 3PL service providers more competitive with high quality logistics service and infrastructures.

To efficiently manage the supply chain of an industry, the structure and characteristics of a supply chain have to be predefined and it is strongly required to get a framework to analyze a supply chain. We have developed a framework to analyze a supply chain from the viewpoint of chain relationship. It is possible to evaluate the degree of supply chain of each entity by using the framework. We have applied the framework to the port & logistics industry. From this research, we have identified tile current status of supply chain of port & logistics industry in the Korea and extracted some considerations for the healthy supply chain of Korean port & logistics industry.

This paper investigated the role of transportation in increasing logistics service quality and effect of logistics service quality on the long term orientation of the supply chain partnership. Four primary dimensions were identified through a comprehensive literature review. The common dimensions included information sharing, the sharing of risks and rewards, cooperative continuous improvements on cost reductions and increased quality. The results of the data analysis indicated that transportation were perceived to play an important role in logistics service quality that effecting on the long term orientation. This provides useful insight for making further conclusions concerning the actual roles of transportation within partnerships.

This paper proposes regionally centralized multistage reverse logistics (cmRL) networks and regionally decentralized multistage reverse logistics (dmRL) networks. cmRL considers whole area of RL network, while dmRL regionally distributed area of RL network. Each type is formulated by the mixed integer programming (MIP) models, which are realized in genetic algorithm (GA) approach. Two types of numerical experiments using RL network are presented and various measures of performance are used for comparing the efficiency of the cmRL and the dmRL. Finally, it is proved that the performance of the cmRL is superior to that of the dmRL.

The Optimization of a Closed-Loop Supply Chain (CLSC) Model Using an Adaptive Hybrid Genetic Algorithm (AHGA) Approach is Considered in this Paper. With Forward and Reverse Logistics as an Integrated Logistics Concept, The CLSC Model is Consisted of Various Facilities Such as Part Supplier, Product Manufacturer, Collection Center, Recovery Center, etc. A Mathematical Model and the AHGA Approach are Used for Representing and Implementing the CLSC Model, Respectively. Several Conventional Approaches Including the AHGA Approach are Used for Comparing their Performances in Numerical Experiment.
