시맨틱 라이브러리를 위한 아키텍처 참조 모델 (Architectural Reference Model for Semantic Library)

  • 기술 환경의 변화는 문헌정보시스템의 혁신적인 변화를 촉진하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 문헌 정보 체계기술과 인터넷 정보기술을 융합된 차세대 문헌 정보 시스템의 원형으로 시맨틱 라이브러리를 정의하고, 시맨틱 라이브러리의 기능적 요구사항과 아키텍처의 참조모델을 제시하였다. 시맨틱 라이브러리는 온톨로지와 메타데이터 기반의 의미적 상호 운용성과 통합을 실현하고 정보 자원의 개방과 공유 참여와 협업을 통하여 이용자 정보서비스를 혁신하는 체제이다. 또한 시맨틱 라이브러리는 FRBR의 논리구조를 근간으로 하여 서비스 지향 아키텍처로 구현됨으로써 효과적으로 시스템을 구축을 실현할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 차세대 문헌정보 시스템의 모델로 6개 수평 계층과 3개 수직요소로 구성되는 시맨틱 라이브러리의 참조 모델을 제시하였다.

Autonomic Self Healing-Based Load Assessment for Load Division in OKKAM Backbone Cluster

  • Self healing systems are considered as cognation-enabled sub form of fault tolerance system. But our experiments that we report in this paper show that self healing systems can be used for performance optimization, configuration management, access control management and bunch of other functions. The exponential complexity that results from interaction between autonomic systems and users (software and human users) has hindered the deployment and user of intelligent systems for a while now. We show that if that exceptional complexity is converted into self-growing knowledge (policies in our case), can make up for initial development cost of building an intelligent system. In this paper, we report the application of AHSEN (Autonomic Healing-based Self management Engine) to in OKKAM Project infrastructure backbone cluster that mimics the web service based architecture of u-Zone gateway infrastructure. The 'blind' load division on per-request bases is not optimal for distributed and performance hungry infrastructure such as OKKAM. The approach adopted assesses the active threads on the virtual machine and does resource estimates for active processes. The availability of a certain server is represented through worker modules at load server. Our simulation results on the OKKAM infrastructure show that the self healing significantly improves the performance and clearly demarcates the logical ambiguities in contemporary designs of self healing infrastructures proposed for large scale computing infrastructures.

PNNI 기반의 무선 ATM 망에서 위치 등록기의 논리적 계층 구조 연구 (A Study on Logical Hierarchy Architecture of Location Registers for PNNI-Based Wireless ATM)

  • ATM 포럼에 제시된 LR 기법에서는 위치 등록기를 각 계층별로 물리적으로 배치하고 있어 다수의 데이터베이스가 필요하고, 데이터베이스 액세스 회수가 증가하며 위치 관리를 위한 신호 트래픽이 많고 호 설정 지연이 증가하는 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 PNNI(Private Network to Network Interface) 기반의 무선 ATM 망에서 기존 LR 기법에서 사용하는 물리적인 계층 구조에서 각 계층마다 위치 등록기를 둠으로 인한 문제점을 보완하기 위해 PNNI 계층을 적용하여 논리적 계층에 의한 위치 등록기 구조를 제시한다. 논리적 계층 구조에서는 위치 등록기를 논리적인 그룹으로 묶고, 이 그룹들을 다시 그룹으로 묶어서 위치 등록기의 논리적인 트리 헝태로 만들어 상위 레벨의 위치 등록기의 역할을 하위 레벨의 위치 등록기 중 하나가 수행할 수 있도록 한다. 그리고, 위치 관리 비용 측면에서 성능을 비교 평가하여 제안된 논리적 계층 구조가 기존의 물리적 계층 구조에 비해 데이터베이스 수가 줄어들고, 위치 관리 비용을 줄이는 효과를 얻을 수 있다.

사용자 경험 디자인과 미니멀리즘 비교 (Comparing User Experience-based Design and Minimalism)

  • 모더니즘의 끝자락이자 포스트모던의 출발점 사이인 미묘한 시점의 순수예술에서 시작된 미니멀리즘은 Fine Art에서 그치지 않고 건축, 의상, 디자인 등 전반적인 조형분야와 다양한 분야에 그 영향을 끼치게 되었다. 이러한 미니멀리즘과 최근 디지털 디바이스 환경에서 이슈로 떠오르고 있는 사용자 경험 디자인을 역사적, 이론적으로 비교 고찰해 봄으로써 디지털 환경의 사용자 경험 디자인 프로세스가 단순히 실용적인 디자인 테크닉에 머무르지 않고 보다 체계 있는 학문적 이론으로 거듭날 수 있도록 연구하였다. 그 결과 사용자 경험 디자인의 프로세스와 미니멀리즘의 속성 및 사조에서 매우 유사한 동질성을 발견 하였고, 그 동질성을 바탕으로 미니멀리즘과 사용자 경험 디자인의 학술적, 이론적 정리를 진행하여, 향후 디지털 디자인 프로세스의 학문적, 철학적 인프라를 구축할 수 있는 계기를 마련하고자 하였다.

ODA에 근거한 문서 클래스 에디터 설계 및 구현 (Implementation and Design of Document Class Editor based on ODA)

  • 본 논문은 이 기종 문서처리 시스템간에 문서교환을 위해 국제 표준으로 재정된 ODA에 따른 문서 클래스(class) 에디터 설계 및 구현에 대하여 기술하였다. ODA에서처럼 문서구조를 공통 논리구조와 배치구조로 분리하여 처리하였으며, 문서 프로화일을 작성 할 수 있도록 설계하였다. 문서가 정확하게 작성되었는지를 객체(object) 단위로 확인할 수 있는 유틸리티(utility)를 구현하였다. 또한 그 문서의 ODIF 스트림(stream) 데이타가 정확한지를 확인하였다. 본 에디터는 국제 문서 응용 프로화일 (DAP : Document Application Profile)인 DAP 단계 2의 제안에 따라 설계하였으며, UNIX 운영체제의 SUN 워크스테이션상에서 이식성이 좋고 일관된 사용자 인터페이스(interface)를 제공하는 X 윈도우 및 Motif 환경하에서 구현하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 구현된 에디터는 특정 문서구조를 갖는 실제 ODA 문서를 작성시 이용될 수 있다.

Object-Oriented Mission Modeling for Multiple Transport Aircraft

  • A method of multiple transport-aircraft mission modeling is proposed in order to improve the efficiency of evaluating and optimizing pre-mission plans. To deal with the challenge of multiple transport-aircraft missions, the object-oriented modeling method is utilized. The elements of the mission are decomposed into objects and businesses, And the major mission objects and their important properties are summarized. A complex mission can be broken down into basic business modules such as the ground section and flight section. The business models of loading and fueling services in the ground section are described. The business model of the flight section is composed of an air route and flight profile with the flight equation and the fuel consumption model. The logical relationship of objects and business modules is introduced. The architecture of the simulation system, which includes a database, computation module, graphical user interface (GUI) module, and a result analysis module, is established. A sample case that includes two different plans is provided to verify the model's ability to achieve multi-aircraft composite mission simulation.

Anti-slamming bulbous bow and tunnel stern applications on a novel Deep-V catamaran for improved performance

  • While displacement type Deep-V mono hulls have superior seakeeping behaviour at speed, catamarans typically have modest behaviour in rough seas. It is therefore a logical progression to combine the superior seakeeping performance of a displacement type Deep-V mono-hull with the high-speed benefits of a catamaran to take the advantages of both hull forms. The displacement Deep-V catamaran concept was developed in Newcastle University and Newcastle University's own multi-purpose research vessel, which was launched in 2011, pushed the design envelope still further with the successful adoption of a novel anti-slamming bulbous bow and tunnel stern for improved efficiency. This paper presents the hullform development of this unique vessel to understand the contribution of the novel bow and stern features on the performance of the Deep-V catamaran. The study is also a further validation of the hull resistance by using advanced numerical analysis methods in conjunction with the model test. An assessment of the numerical predictions of the hull resistance is also made against physical model test results and shows a good agreement between them.

  • It is interesting that the costume in the period of romanticism was very fantastic and peculiar in its aspects. The romanticism in the fashion theme of these days' mode represents the image of this France romanticism. Costume has unseparable relations with the style of art in the same period. Especially, plastic art has logical connection with costume because it is an art through silhouette, line, color and texture felt by visional and solid feelings. This kind of study is important in order to understand the fashion of today, to anticipate the fashion in future and to get recognition of costume as a genre of arts. This study is to analyse and compare the general features in the grown-ups' everyday clothes of France from 1815 to 1850 when costume in the period of romanticism reached its peaks with the art of architecture, paintings, sculpture and technology, with the aid of documentary recordings. The above study explain that costume is expressed by the same plastic art of the period if it coexists in the same cultural background. Finally, we can plan the costume in future on an artistic dimension by understanding correctly the characteristics of plastic art which modern costume pursue from an artistic point of view.

BIM 기반 건축설계 품질검토를 위한 체크리스트 개발 연구 (Development of Check-list for BIM Based Architectural Design Quality Check)

  • The construction industry consists of various and massive architectural information as an architectural process includes a variety of design stages with cooperation of many disciplines. Particularly, architectural information is generated and managed through the life cycle of a building, from conceptual design stage to the construction and maintenance. A Building Information Model (BIM) serves as a shared knowledge resource for information about a facility forming a reliable basis for decisions during its life-cycle from inception onward. BIM technology accomplished quantitative development being utilized in various disciplines. However, it is necessary to develop environment and requirement for qualitative improvement of BIM based project. Particularly, requirement is very important for architectural design evaluations. The purpose of this study is to develop and apply of quality control check-list for improving the quality of architectural design in BIM environments. To achieve this purpose, the authors have investigated case study for open BIM data quality control (software, guideline and application case) and classified quality control targets according to physical/logical quality control and data quality. In addition, the authors have defined open BIM based quality control process and developed quality control check-list. Finally, the authors have developed automatic quality check system using requirements for efficient quality control based on open BIM.

건축공간에서 공기 감염균 확산을 해석하기 위한 추적가스 고찰과 농도에 따른 감염 위험성 예측 연구 (A Inquiry of Tracer Gas for Analysis of Dispersion and Prediction of Infection Possibility according to Airborne Viral Contaminants)

  • The SARS virus began to appear and spread in North America and Southeast Asia in the early 2000' s, infecting and harming many people. In the process of examining the causes for the virus, studies on the airborne SARS virus and the way it spread were carried out mainly in the medical field. In the field of architecture, studies were done on the diffusion of air pollutants in buildings using gases such as $CO_2$, $N_2O$, or $SF_6$, but research on virus diffusion was limited. There were also explanations of only the diffusion process without accurate information and discussion on virus characteristics. The aim of this study is to analyze the physical characteristics of airborne virus, consider the possibility of using coupled analysis model and tracer gas for analyzing virus diffusion in building space and, based on reports of how the infection spread in a hospital where SARS patients were discovered, analyze infection risk using tracer gas density and also diffusion patterns according to the location, shape, and volume of supply diffusers and exhaust grilles. This paper can provide standards and logical principles for evaluating various alternatives for making decisions on vertical or horizontal ward placement, air supply and exhaust installation and air volumes in medium or high story medical facilities.
