  • In order to prevent information leakage, companies are monitoring the information leakage by internal staff by building individual security system and integrated monitoring system of firewall and DLP function. Especially, many log data of the integrated monitoring system cause time and money, and it is difficult to detect information leak of fast malicious personnel due to system slowdown. It is necessary to speed up the system by digitizing large log data for each day and person for fast information leakage detection and there is a need to develop and manage a continuous monitoring program for the information leakage indications personnel. Therefore, we propose an improved integrated monitoring system using log data by date and individual data.

  • Image normalization is one of the important areas in pattern recognition. Also, log-polar images are useful in the sense that their image data size is reduced dramatically comparing with conventional images and it is possible to develop faster pattern recognition algorithms. Especially, the log-polar image is very similar with the structure of human eyes. However, there are almost no researches on pattern recognition using the log-polar images while a number of researches on visual tracking have been executed. We propose an image normalization technique of log-polar images using momentums applicable for affine-invariant pattern recognition. We handle basic distortions of an image including translation, rotation, scaling, and skew of a log-polar image. The algorithm is experimented in a PC-based real-time vision system successfully.

  • The initial moisture adsorption of soybeans was examined under the conditions : RH, 57-86% ; temperature, $16^{\circ}-34^{\circ}C$, and storage time, 100 hours. The changes in moisture content as a function of time held a relation: log dw/dt=b log t + log a, where w is the moisture content (%, db), t is time (hour) and a and b are the parameters which were calculated from the experimental data. The calculated moisture content from the equation agreed well with the measured moisture content. The activation energy of initial adsorption rate was about 15500cal/g-mole in all soybeans. The initial adsorption rate at temperature $16^{\circ}-28^{\circ}C$ could be estimated from a following equation : log(log dw/dt)=-15500/2.303RT.

  • The application of disinfection models on the plasma process was investigated. Nine empirical models were used to find an optimum model. The variation of parameters in model according to the operating conditions (first voltage, second voltage, air flow rate, pH) were investigated in order to explain the disinfection model. In this experiment, the DBD (dielectric barrier discharge) plasma reactor was used to inactivate Ralstonia Solanacearum which cause wilt in tomato plantation. Optimum disinfection models were chosen among the nine models by the application of statistical SSE (sum of squared error), RMSE (root mean sum of squared error), $r^2$ values on the experimental data using the GInaFiT software in Microsoft Excel. The optimum model was shown as Weibull+talil model followed by Log-linear+ Shoulder+Tail model. Two models were applied to the experimental data according to the variation of the operating conditions. In Weibull+talil model, Log10($N_o$), Log10($N_{res}$), ${\delta}$ and p values were examined. And in Log-linear+Shoulder+Tail model, the Log10($N_o$), Log10($N_{res}$), $k_{max}$, Sl values were calculated and examined.

  • Logistic regression models are commonly used to explain binary health outcome variable using independent variables such as patient characteristics in medical science and public health research. Although there is no distributional assumption required for independent variables in logistic regression, variables with severely right-skewed distribution such as lab values are often log-transformed to achieve symmetry or approximate normality. However, lab values often have zeros due to limit of detection which makes it impossible to apply log-transformation. Therefore, preprocessing to handle zeros in the observation before log-transformation is necessary. In this study, five methods that remove zeros (shift by 1, shift by half of the smallest nonzero, shift by square root of the smallest nonzero, replace zeros with half of the smallest nonzero, replace zeros with the square root of the smallest nonzero) are investigated in logistic regression setting. To evaluate performances of these methods, we performed a simulation study based on randomly generated data from log-normal distribution and logistic regression model. Shift by 1 method has the worst performance, and overall shift by half of the smallest nonzero method, replace zeros with half of the smallest nonzero method, and replace zeros with the square root of the smallest nonzero method showed comparable and stable performances.

  • The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the bioequivalence of two cetirizine HCl tablets, Zyrtec tablet (UCB Pharm. Co., Ltd. Korea, reference product) and Zyrix tablet (Kukje Pharm. Co., Ltd., Korea, test product), according to the guidelines of Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA). After adding an internal standard (diazepam), plasma samples were extracted using 1 mL of dichloromethane. Compounds extracted were analyzed by reverse-phase HPLC with ultra-violet detector. This method for determination cetirizine is proved accurate and reproducible with a limit of quantitation of 10 ng/mL in male plasma. Twenty-four healthy male Korean volunteers received each medicine at the cetirizine HCl dose of 10 mg in a $2{\times}2$ crossover study. There was a one-week wash out period between the doses. Plasma concentrations of cetirizine were monitored for over a period of 24 hr after the administration. AUC (the area under the plasma concentration-time curve) was calculated by the linear trapezoidal rule. $C_{max}$ (maximum plasma drug concentration) and $T_{max}$ (time to reach $C_{max}$) were compiled from the plasma concentration-time data. Analysis of variance was carried out using logarithmically transformed AUC and $C_{max}$. No significant sequence effect was found for all of the bioavailability parameters indicating that the crossover design was properly performed. The 90% confidence intervals for the log transformed data were acceptable range of log 0.8 to log 1.25 $(e.g.,\;log\;0.93-log\;1.08\;for\;AUC_{0-t},\;log\;0.91-log\;1.08\;for\;AUC_{0-{\infty}}\;and\;log\;1.01-log\;1.11\;for\;C_{max})$. The major parameters, AUC and $C_{max}$ met the criteria of KFDA for bioequivalence indicating that Zyrix tablet is bioequivalent to Zyrtec tablet.

  • The amount of web traffic has increased as a result of the rapid growth of the use of web-based applications. In order to obtain valuable information from web logs, we need to develop systems that can support interactive, flexible, and efficient ways to analyze and handle large amounts of data. In this paper, we present CERES, a log-based, interactive web analytics system for backbone networks. Since CERES focuses on analyzing web log records generated from backbone networks, it is possible to perform a web analysis from the perspective of a network. CERES is designed for deployment in a server cluster using the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) as the underlying storage. We transform and store web log records from backbone networks into relations and then allow users to use a SQL-like language to analyze web log records in a flexible and interactive manner. In particular, we use the data cube technique to enable the efficient statistical analysis of web log. The system provides users a web-based, multi-modal user interface.

  • Web usage mining is the technique of data mining that analyzes web users' usage patterns by large web log. To use the web usage mining technique, we have to classify correctly users and users session in preprocessing, but can't classify them completely by only log files with standard web log format. To classify users and user session there are many problems like local cache, firewall, ISP, user privacy, cookey etc., but there isn't any definite method to solve the problems now. Especially local cache problem is the most difficult problem to classify user session which is used as input in web mining systems. In this paper we propose a heuristic method which solves local cache problem by using only click stream data of server side like referrer log, agent log and access log, classifies user sessions and completes session.

  • A new approach of estimating the coefficient of permeability (COP) from resistivity has been developed, which can provide another good application tool of geophysical methods to geo-technical field. Borehole electrical logging and Lugeon test results in Yangsan area showed that resistivity is inversely proportional to the COP. For granite and andesite in Yansan area, the relation between the resistivity ($\rho$) and the COP (k) revealed that, $log(k){\approx}-0.85621\;log({\rho})+0.0031$. Derived relation is applied to AMT data acquired from a survey line along the tunnel. Two-dimensional resistivity distribution from AMT data was converted to two-dimensional COP section. The final COP section can be used as good input data for groundwater modeling.
