The purpose of this presentation is to review the situation of the Cheju broiler industry peculiarized with the integrated production and marketing system to some degree, which is not prevailed in the whole broiler industry in Korea, so as to study the case of the Cheju industry from the viewpoint of an economic integration. The economic integration in the broiler industry is grouped into three patterns: non-integration, quasi-integration and complete integration, which generally exist under the different type of market competition. The quasi-integration tends to be formed at all phases where the complete integration is not fully implemented, but the non-integration has begun to change its nature into partially integrated structure. The Cheju broiler industry is characterized by the geographical location of isolated market so that factor supplies and broiler products are marketed in the different conditions from those of mainland Korea, somewhat in an oligopolistic pattern. It was since early 1980's that the industry successfully had three dressing plants merged into one by virtue of entire growers ownership, which opened an era of an integrated industry centered on the function of dressing birds. The case of Cheju broiler industry today is to be referred to as a typical quasi-integration which is coordinated the function between growing and dressing birds directly and extended the functional cooperation to distribution of products indirectly, while factor supplies are traded independently. As a result of a quasi-integration, the growers are able to receive a fixed price set by the dressing plant of growers that has the power to adjust the supply of and demand for broilers produced and consumed in the Island. There are some problems, however, in the integration of the Cheju broiler industry, stemming mainly from the process of the structure change, : 1) the difficulty of controlling the production of broilers, 2) continuing pressure on the integration by non-integrated sectors, 3) the challenge on the stabilized broiler market from the mainland, 4) limited effectiveness of consumer education activities, and 5) lack of leadership for the industry development through integration. It is projected that the partially integrated Cheju broiler industry will be continually developed toward the direction of a complete integration in due course, as the currently independent supply sectors are to be backward integrated. The case of the Cheju broiler integration, therefore, could be used as a reference for making the whole broiler industry in Korea develop toward the integrated structure in the future.
Although LNG storage tanks are very delicate with chloride attack owing to its operating inshore location, specific integrity management system for chloride attack has not been studied so far. As the design warranty life time, about 25 years, has come, to prevent paying huge amount of construction cost and required resources for new alternative storage tanks and manage the life time of operating storage tanks, the basic data of chloride attack is necessary. This study intended to build up basic data for following detailed study to develop technologies for life time management of LNG storage tanks, NT Build 492 method in North Europe was used to test chloride diffusion coefficient for the newly-constructing concrete outer tank. Results of these tests lead us to the conclusion that 90 days diffusion coefficients show 46% of 28 days' due to a large quantity of fly ash mixing and much similar to estimation from concrete process table. It seems resonable to conclude that 90 days specimens are recommended estimating the chloride diffusion coefficient for LNG storage tanks to enhance the reliabilities.

Characteristics of water-level changes in the Temporary Gulpocheon Discharge Channel were identified by observing and analyzing changes in the subterranean water level induced by hydrological stresses the underground aquifer. The subterranean water level refers to the level at which the pressure of subterranean water passing through the corresponding position has an equipotential value that is in equilibrium with the atmospheric pressure at that location. This water level is not fixed but changes in response to hydrological stress. It can be identified by repeatedly measuring the distance from the observation point to the surface of the subterranean water. The subterranean water-level change equation and the variance range of the hydrological curve of subterranean water over 24 hours at the Gimpo-Gimpo National Groundwater Monitoring Network (NGMN) were used as assessment factors. The variance characteristics of the subterranean water at the 18 monitoring system locations were classified into three impact, observational wish, and non-impact. The impact type accounted for 50% of the subterranean water of and accurately reflected the water-level changes due to hydrological stress, showing that distance is the major controlling factor. The observational wish type accounted for 27.8% of the subterranean water, and one of the two assessment factors did not meet the assessment factors. The nonimpact type accounted for 22.2% of the subterranean water. This type satisfied the two assessment factors and represents subterranean water-level changes response to precipitation.

Purpose: Many studies have addressed a psychiatric analysis of self-injury patients who have self-injurious behavior and who have attempted suicide. Few studies on the injury characteristics of self-injury related trauma patients have been conducted. We analyzed the injury characteristics of self-injury patients. Methods: A retrospective review of the medical records extracted from the injury surveillance system of Wonju Christian Hospital for the period from August 2006 to February 2008 was conducted. Of the 121 cases extracted, 103 were included in this study. We analyzed the sex ratio, age group, place of injury, injury mechanism, location of injury, management results, injury severity, and relation with drinking. Results: One hundred three cases were included (sex ratio: 1.06), and the mean age was $33.9{\pm}14.2$ years old. Fifty-six patients (54.4%) were discharged from the emergency department (ED) on the day of injury after primary care, and 9 patients (8.7%) were discharged, because they refused treatment. Seven patients (6.8%) died. Of these, 4 patients (3.9%) died after attempted cardio-pulmonary resuscitation in the ED, 1 patient (1%) was dead on arrival, and 2 patients (1.9%) died after admission. Sixteen patients (15.5%) were admitted to the hospital, including 2 patients (1.9%) needing emergency surgery. Sixteen patients (15.5%) were transferred to other hospitals. Sixty-one cases (59.2%) involved drinking, and 31 (30.1%) did not; for 11 cases (10.7%), the involvement of drinking was unknown. The mean revised trauma score (RTS) was $11.26{\pm}2.52$, and 88 cases (85.4%) hat a RTS of 12. The mean injury severity score (ISS) was $5.80{\pm}14.56$, and 9 (8.7%) severely injured patients had scores of more than 15. Conclusion: Most self-injuries were mild traumas related to drinking and occurred at a young age. Most cases were not so severe, and the patients were discharged from the ED, but some patients needed hospitalization. Other patients had injuries so severe that they died.

Estimating the risks on the roadway using surrogate safety measures (SSM) has an advantage in that it focuses on the vehicle trajectory directly involved in conflicts. On the other hand, there is a restriction on estimating the risks of continuous segments due to the limited data collected from a location. To overcome the restriction, this study presents the scheme of acquiring the vehicular trajectory using real time kinematics-differential global positioning system (RTK-DGPS) and develops a methodology which contains the considerations of the problems to calculate the SSM such as time-to-collision (TTC), deceleration rate to avoid collision (DRAC) and acceleration noise (AN). By using the methodology, this study shows a result from an experiment executed in a section where the variation of vehicular movement can be observed from several continuous flow roadway sections near Seoul and Gyeonggi Province in Korea. The result illustrated the risks on the roadway by the SSM metrics in certain situations like merging and diverging, stop-and-go, and weaving. This study would be applied to relate the dangers with characteristics of drivers and roadway sections, and prevenst accidents or conflicts by detecting dangerous roadway sections and drivers' behaviors. This study contributes to improving roadway safety and reducing car-accidents.
In this study, C-Arm equipment is being used as we intend to verify the exposure dose on the operator by the scattering rays during the operation of the C-Arm equipment and to provide an effective method of reducing the exposure dose. Exposure dose is less than the Over Tube method utilizes the C-arm equipment Under Tube the scheme, The result showed that the exposure dose on the operator decreased with a thicker shield, and as the operator moved away from the center line. Moreover, as the research time prolongated, the exposure dose increased, and among the three affixed location of the dosimeter, the most exposure dose was measured at gonadal, then followed by chest and thyroid. However, in consideration of the relationship between the operator and the patient, the distance cannot be increased infinitely and the research time cannot be decreased infinitely in order to reduce the exposure dose. Therefore, by changing the thickness of the radiation shield, the exposure dose on the operator was able to be reduced. If you are using a C-Arm equipment discomfort during surgery because the grounds that the procedure is neglected and close to the dose of radiation shielding made can only increase. Because a separate control room cannot be used for the C-Arm equipment due to its characteristic, the exposure dose on the operator needs to be reduced by reinforcing the shield through an appropriate thickness of radiation shield devices, such as apron, etc. during a treatment.

The cadastral system which accomplishes the base of national land administration with accuracy of proper data and the cadastral maintenance quickly is agreeing with the actual place in information ages in Inundation. But even in spite of many efforts, various Problems are exposed in accuracy of the data on the cadastral maps and local situation must agree accurately from the process which propels cadastral information systems. Therefore, it must be carried out the cadastral non correspondence arrangement first of all in link of the plan which it corrects the error of existing data and computerization quickly. It summarizes the research as follows ; Cadastral non correspondence of the land boundaries on the map and actual circumstance does not agree with cadastral maps accurately, The lands which exceed the standards with the position error excess of 50cm on lil ,200 and 240cm on 1/6,000 areas on the map scale are the registration correction objectives. It is investigated that the cadastral non correspondence parcels occur in various cause and long period, the area error corrections are mainly objectives, and about 80% of the test area comes to reveal within permitted the limit of the measurement of planimetric area for cadastral survey, so it is not difficult with the fact that the compensation back which it follows in area increase and decrease and the location error correction becomes the important object fer the cadastral non correspondence arrangement projects.

Soil moisture is one of the important components in hydrological processes and also controls the subsurface flow mechanism at a hillslope scale. In this study, time series of soil moisture were measured at a hillslope located in Gwangneung National Arboretum, Korea using a multiplex Time Domain Reflectometry(TDR) system measuring soil moisture with bi-hour interval. The Box-Jenkins transfer function and noise model was used to estimate spatial distributions of soil moisture histories between May and September, 2007. Rainfall was used as an input parameter and soil moisture at 10 cm depth was used as an output parameter in the model. The modeling process consisted of a series of procedures(e.g., data pretreatment, model identification, parameter estimation, and diagnostic checking of selected models), and the relationship between soil moisture and rainfall was assessed. The results indicated that the patterns of soil moisture at different locations and slopes along the hillslope were similar with those of rainfall during the measurment period. However, the spatial distribution of soil moisture was not associated with the slope of the monitored location. This implies that the variability of the soil moisture was determined more by rainfall than by the slope of the site. Due to the influence of vegetation activity on soil moisture flow in spring, the soil moisture prediction in spring showed higher variability and complexity than that in early autumn did. This indicates that vegetation activity is an important factor explaining the patterns of soil moisture for an upland forested hillslope.
This paper investigates some critical errors influencing travel demand estimation in Korea Transportation Data Base (KTDB), and through this investigation reasonable traffic analysis zone (TAZ) size and internal trips ratio are analyzed. With varying zone size, the accuracy of travel demand estimation is studied and appropriate level of zone size in KTDB is also presented. For this purpose zonal structure consisting of location of zone centroid, number of centroid connecters has been constructed by social economic index, and then some descriptive statistical analyses such as F-test, coefficient of correlation are performed. From the results, this paper shows that the optimum levels of zone system were various according to the order and capacity of roads, and also shows that the smaller TAZ, the less error in this research. In conclusion, in order to improve accuracy of traffic demand estimation it is necessary to make zone size smaller.
Perfusion and ventilaion imagings of the lung are well established procedure for diagnosing pulmonary embolism, differentiation it from chronic obstructive lung disease, and making an early detection of chronic obstructive lung disease. To evaluate the usefulness of radioaerosol inhalation imaging (RII) in chronic obstructive lung disease, especially pulmonary emphysema, we analyzed RIIs of five normal adult non-smokers, five asymptomatic smokers (age 25-42 years with the mean 36), and 21 patients with pulmonry emphysema (age 59-78 years with the mean 67). Scintigrams were obtained with radioaerosol produced by a BARC nebulizer with 15 mCi of Tc-99m-phytate. Scanning was performed in the anterior, posterior, and lateral projections after five to 10-minute inhalation of the radioaerosol on sitting position. The scans were analyzed and correlated with the results of pulmonary function studies and chest radiographs. Also lung perfusion scan with $^{99m}Tc-MAA$ was performed in 12 patients. In five patients, we performed follow-up scans for the evaluation of the effects of a bronchodilator. Based on the X-ray findings and clinical symptoms, pulmonary emphysema was classified into four types: centrilobular (3 patients), panlobular (4 patients), intermediate (10 patients), and combined (4 patients). RII findings were patternized according to the type, extent, and intensity of the aerosol deposition in the central bronchial and bronchopulmonary system and lung parenchyma. 10 controls, normal five non-smokers and three asymptomatic smokers revealed homogeneous parenchymal deposition in the entire lung fields without central bronchial deposition. The remaining two of asymptomatic smokers revealed mild central airway deposition. The great majority of the patients showed either central (9/21) or combined type (10/21) of bronchopulmonary deposition and the remaining two patients peripheral bronchopulmonary deposition. Parenchymal aerosol deposition in pulmonary emphysema was diffuse (6/21), discrete(6/21), intermediate (3/21), or combined (6/21). In 12 patients studied also with perfusion scans, perfusion defects matched closely with ventilation defects in location and configuration. But the size of the ventilation defects was generally larger than the perfusion defects. In all four patients treated with bronchodilators, the follow-up study demonstrated decrease in abnormal of radioaerosol deposition in the central airway with improvement of ventilation defects. RII was useful technique for the evaluation of regional ventilatory abnormality and the effects of treatment with bronchodilators in pulmonary emphysema.
