An extremum method is presented to predict the wrinkling characteristics of the inflated cone in bending. The wrinkling factor is firstly defined so as to obtain the wrinkling condition. The initial wrinkling location is then determined by searching the maximum of the wrinkling factor. The critical wrinkling load is finally obtained by determining the ratio of the wrinkling moment versus the initial wrinkling location. The extremum method is proposed based on the assumption of membrane material of beam wall, and it is extended to consider beam wall with thin-shell material in the end. The nondimensional analyses show that the initial wrinkling location is closely related to the taper ratio. When the taper ratio is higher than the critical value, the initial wrinkles will be initiated at a different location. The nondimensional critical wrinkling load nonlinearly increases as the taper ratio increases firstly, and then linearly increases after the critical taper ratio. The critical taper ratio reflects the highest load-carrying efficiency of the inflated cone in bending, and it can be regarded as a measure to optimize the geometry of the inflated cone. The comparative analysis shows fairly good agreement between analytical and numerical results. Over the whole range of the comparison, the mean differences are lower than 3%. This gives confidence to use extremum method for bending-wrinkling analysis of inflated conical cantilever beam.

Wireless sensor network can increase independence and flexibility of network because it consists of mobile node without the aid of fixed infra, but, by unrestricted for the participation and breakaway of node, it has the difficulty in routing which is a basic function of network operation. To solve those problems, a suggestion is the location-based routing algorithm using geological or logical location information. The suggested algorithm which is based on cluster for location information of sensor is applicable to wireless sensor network of discrete situation, which guarantees extension and mobility. By efficiency analysis and reactive routing algorithm of current DSR and AODV, packet transmission ratio, routing overheads, and average communication expense is compared as node increases.

Recently, wireless sensor networks(WSNs) technology has been considered as one of the most critical issues in the ubiquitous computing age. The sensor nodes have limited battery power, so they should consume low energy through their operation for the long-lasting lifetime. Therefore, it is essential to use energy efficient routing protocol. For this, we propose a location-based energy-efficient routing protocol which constructs the energy efficient route by considering the quantity of Energy consumed. In addition, we propose a route reconstruction algorithm to handle the disconnection of message transmission. Finally, we show from performance analysis using TOSSIM that our protocol outperforms the existing location based routing protocols in terms of energy efficiency.

A study was conducted on the effect of leading edge location for the performance characteristics of a centrifugal compressor impeller. Five impellers with different leading edge location were selected for numerical analysis. The impeller with leading edge located 10% away from the inlet about meridional distance from entrance to exit showed the best total pressure ratio and efficiency. Also, this case showed relatively uniform flow distribution because of a weak intensity of the separation region at impeller exit. The impeller with leading edge located far from this location showed lowest total pressure ratio and efficiency. Performance of compressor also decreased due to non-uniform flow distribution at impeller exit.
In recent years, O2O (Online to Offline) services get a lot of attention to improve the trust in online shopping and minimize the inconvenience and the cost burden in offline shopping as the number of consumers, who do not show concern about the purchase platform like online or offline, increases. Even though the services have been getting the spotlight as a strong business platform for next generation commerce, there have been only a few studies on the O2O services. The purpose of this research is to investigate the factors which affect the consumer's intention to use location-based O2O services. The study is based on VAM (Value-based Adoption Model) which is able to analyze those factors from the aspects of benefit and sacrifice. We used the partial least squares (PLS) method for empirical analysis, and the result shows that contextual offers, instant connectivity, webrooming and economic efficiency, which fall under the benefit, affect perceived value positively while annoyance and face consciousness, which fall under the sacrifice, do not affect perceived value significantly. In addition, contextual offers and instant connectivity affect trust positively. Location accuracy, which falls under the benefit of location-based O2O service, do not significantly affect perceived value and trust while security risk affects trust and use intention negatively. It appears that trust affects perceived value and use intention positively.
We evaluated industry growth and employment effects of every possible pairs of 22 manufacturing sectors and 16 regions (i.e, 352 region-sectors). We used annual data of manufacturing sectors from 2008 to 2014 for the evaluation. The evaluation comprises of two steps; We first find several region-sectors that outperform others with respect to the effects of industry growth and employment, which are measured by location quotient analysis, shift share method, employment to GDP ratio and employment elasticity. In addition, cross-efficiency analysis follows to classify region-sector pairs into two sub-categories : efficient region-sectors that deserve to hold the current level of investments and inefficient region-sectors where we should consider efficiency improvements. To examine the efficiency, R&D investment, employment size, and capital investment were used as input factors and production volume, added value, changes in employment size, changes in annual salary per capita were used as output factors. For region-sector pairs that have outstanding growth and employment effects but are inefficient, we employed a CCR DEA model and analyzed how much to adjust the values of input and output factors to improve the efficiency scores. The analysis results showed that inefficiency is mainly due to several factors such as R&D investment, changes in employment size and changes in annual salary per capita.

Introduction: The location of parotid gland tumors in the superficial or deep lobes can affect the time and difficulty of operations. Therefore, accurate preoperative evaluation of the tumor location is important for surgical outcomes. Materials and Methods: A total of 16 patients with parotid gland tumors and who underwent a parotidectomy between April 2003 and March 2011 were retrospectively reviewed in terms of demographic background, tumor location, surgical treatment, and treatment outcomes. Tumor location was estimated by four landmarks on contrast enhanced computerized tomography scans, which were Conn's arc, the facial nerve (FN) line, the Utrecht line, and the retromandibular vein. Tumor location was confirmed by relative position depending on the facial nerve during surgery. It was assumed positive since the tumor lies in the superficial lobe of the parotid gland, the sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, and efficiency of each landmark were evaluated. Results: Our result revealed that the facial nerve line had a sensitivity of 83.3%, specificity of 100%, positive predictive value of 100%, negative predictive value of 71.4%, and efficiency of 87.5%. Some would be more efficient preoperative evaluation methods of the relationship of parotid gland tumors to the facial nerve than others. Conclusion: In our study, the FN line was found to be the most reliable analysis method.
Recognition of real time locations of crews for a naval ship is important, not only for the operation efficiency but also for the safety of onboard crews in the ship. More than 100 crews are dwelling in a modem naval ship and they are involved in various duties. Moreover many visitors come in and out frequently while the ship is moored in a harbor. It sometimes requires considerable time and efforts to find a person for urgent mission. It would enhance the operational efficiency if locations of onboard crews are recognized and monitored in real time. An active type RFID tag, which has a specific ID number, is distributed to each crew member, which should be carried during his stay in the ship. A number of fixed type RFID readers are to be located at the major passages of the ship, which are connected to the main computer via Local Area Network. The location of a crew would be identified by the ID number of his RFID tag and the location of the RFID reader which detected the RFID tag. A middleware is needed to process the collected data in the main computer. The data is fed to application softwares, which actually display locations of the concerned crews. The software is coded using GUI (Graphic User Interface) for better user friendliness, which has the function of storing the location history of a crew, and sending warning messages to appropriate persons, if unallowable behavior is detected. An auxiliary naval ship is selected for an experimental application study of the proposed system. It turns out that the required budget and time for the realization of the system is within the allowable limits. But complementary measures to protect the privacy of onboard crews should be considered and adopted, before the application of the system is realized.

In ad hoc networks, position-based routing schemes, that use geographical positions of nodes, have been proposed to efficiently route messages. In these routing schemes, the location service is one of the key elements that determines and effects security and efficiency of the protocol. In this paper, we define security threats of location service and propose a new quorum based location service protocol. In our proposed protocol, nodes register their public keys in other nodes during the initialization phase and these registered keys are used to verify locations of other nodes and the messages exchanged. In this paper, we prove that our protocol is robust against traditional attacks and new attacks that may occur due to the use of position-based routing. We also analyze the efficiency of our protocol using various simulations.
The following study was conducted to determine the optimal location in terms of efficiency for solar energy facilities, and to propose a policy implications for the orientation of the installments. 92 cases in Jeollanam-do Province were selected. A regression analysis was performed between the average electricity generation time as the dependent variable, and the facility, weather and site conditions as the independent variables. As a result, 5 variables were deemed significant. Larger site areas, closer proximity to rivers, islands, oceans, etc., least south-oriented, higher average wind speed, and facilities in agricultural land use and natural environment conservation land use had the highest efficiency. This study minimized the possibility of secure databases and errors following facility types, and was limited in the number of sites studied, since this was only conducted in Jeollanam-do Province. Nevertheless, these conclusions still offer important policy implications for determining the most optimal location for solar energy facilities.
