This paper presents a method for the automatic generation of assembly sequences based on the recursive extraction of a preferred part along with the verification of its disassemblability. To verify the disassemblability of the part we inference the geometric precedence constraints using a method of extracting separable directions for the part and determine the disassemblability cost by the separability and stability cost. The proosed method provides a local optimal solution of finding a cost effective assembly plan, and the feasibility of calculating robot motion programs by evaluating separable directions in flexible manufacturing application. A case study is given to illustrate the concepts and procedure of the proposed scheme.

We present a new regularity criterion for suitable weak solutions of the steady-state Navier-Stokes equations near boundary in dimension five. We show that suitable weak solutions are regular up to the boundary if the scaled $L^{\frac{5}{2}}$-norm of the solution is small near the boundary. Our result is also valid in the interior.

A reaction-diffusion model with spatiotemporal delay modeling the dynamical behavior of a single species is investigated. The parameter regions for the local stability, global stability and instability of the unique positive constant steady state solution are derived. The conditions of the occurrence of Turing (diffusion-driven) instability are obtained. The existence of time-periodic solutions, the existence and nonexistence of nonconstant positive steady state solutions are proved by bifurcation method and energy method. Numerical simulations are presented to verify and illustrate the theoretical results.

In a standard Metropolis-type Monte Carlo simulation, the proposal distribution cannot be easily adapted to "local dynamics" of the target distribution. To overcome some of these difficulties, Duane et al. (1987) introduced the method of hybrid Monte Carlo(HMC) which combines the basic idea of molecular dynamics and the Metropolis acceptance-rejection rule to produce Monte Carlo samples from a given target distribution. In this paper, using the HMC within Gibbs sampler, an asymptotical estimate of the smoothing mean and a general solution to state space modeling in Bayesian framework is obtaineds obtained.

An axially marching numerical method is developed for the simulation of the internal waves produced by translation of a submersed vehicle in a density-stratified ocean. The method provides for the direct solution of the primitive variables [$\upsilon,\;p,\;\rho$] for the nonlinear and steady state three-dimensional Euler's equation with a non-constant density term in the vehicle-fixed cartesian co-ordinate system. By utilizing a known potential flow around the vehicle for an estimate of the axial velocity gradient, the present parabolic algorithm local upstreamwise disturbances and axial velocity variation.

In this research, we developed a new algorithm for hierarchical placement of integrated circuits. For efficient placement of a large circuit, the given circuit is recursively partitioned to form a hierarchy tree and then simulated-annealing-based placement method is applied at each level of the hierarchy to find a near optimum solution. During the placemtnt, global optimization is performed at high levels of the hierarchy and local optimization is performed at low levels. When compared with conventional placement methods, the new hierarchical placement method produced favorable results.

For the purposed of improving the utilization of natural chemical pigment, carthamin, of Carthamus tinctorius, the effective extraction methods on this compound were pursued in the present study. The best solvent for the extraction was found to be the 1 %(v/v) NaOH solution, at 25 hours. In addition, more carthamin was extracted flowers from main stem than fromb-ranches . The carthamin content of Korean local safflower was shown to be higher than that of Japanese variety used for medicinal uses.

In this paper the existence of global solutions of the parabolic cross-diffusion systems with cooperative reactions is obtained under certain conditions. The uniform boundedness of $W_{1,2}$ norms of the local maximal solution is obtained by using interpolation inequalities and comparison results on differential inequalities.
