  • In this paper we analyze an error estimator for the lowest-order triangular Raviart-Thomas mixed finite element which is based on solution of local problems for the error. This estimator was proposed in [Alonso, Error estimators for a mixed method, Numer. Math. 74 (1996), 385{395] and has a similar concept to that of Bank and Weiser. We show that it is asymptotically exact for the Poisson equation if the underlying triangulations are uniform and the exact solution is regular enough.

  • We analyze a posteriori error estimator for the conforming P2 finite element on triangular meshes which is based on the solution of local Neumann problems. This error estimator extends the one for the conforming P1 finite element proposed in [4]. We prove that it is asymptotically exact for the Poisson equation when the underlying triangulations are mildly structured and the solution is smooth enough.

  • Viscous analysis on incompressible flows is performed using unstructured triangular meshes. A two-dimensional and axisymmetric incompressible Navier-Stokes equations are solved in time-marching form by artificial compressibility method. The governing equations are discretized by a cell-centered based finite-volume method. and a centered scheme is used for inviscid and viscous fluxes with fourth order artificial dissipation. An explicit multi-stage Runge-Kutta method is used for the time integration with local time stepping and implicit residual smoothing. Convergence properties are examined and solution accuracies are also validated with benchmark solution and experiment.

  • A fourth order in time and second order in space scheme using a finite-difference method is developed for the non-linear Boussinesq equation. For the solution of the resulting non-linear system a predictor-corrector pair is proposed. The method is analyzed for local truncation error and stability. The results of a number of numerical experiments for both the single and the double-soliton waves are given.

  • The existence of a unique local generalized solution for the abstract functional evolution problem of the type $$ (FDE:\phi) x'(t) + A(t, x_t)x(t) \ni G(t, x_t), t \in [0, T], x_0 = \phi $$ in a general Banach spaces is considered. It is shown that $(FDE:\phi)$ could be considered with well-known fixed point theory and recent results for the functional differential equations involving the operator A(t).

  • In this paper we study the initial value problem of the non-relativistic Vlasov-Darwin system with generalized variables (VDG). We first prove local existence and uniqueness of a nonnegative classical solution to VDG in three space variables, and establish the blow-up criterion. Then we show that it converges to the well-known Vlasov-Poisson system when the light velocity c tends to infinity in a pointwise sense.

  • This study has adapted a genetic algorithm for an optimal design for the first time. the models that was used a simulation are the first and second order response surfaces model, Using an genetic algorithm in D-opimal it is more efficient than previous algorithms to get an object function. Not like other algorithm without any restrictions like troublesome about the initial solution not falling into a local optimal solution it's the most suitable algorithm.

  • As evolution of the process technology, we proposed the Over-The-Cell channel routing algorithm for the advanced three-layer process. The proposed algorithm simplifies the channel routing problem, and then makes use of Simulated Annealing Technique to converge at global optimal solution. Also, we proposed a new method to remove the cyclic vertical constraints which are known to be the hardest element in the channel routing problem and a way to detect the local minimal solution and escape from it successfully.

  • Methods for the solution of linear stability for compressible boundary layers are developed. Both the global and local methods for stability analysis are used. Both methods are use in solution of Coutte shear flow and the results are analysis and compare. Some well-known conclusions of Coutte flow are proved by these methods again.

  • Local conformation of helical peptides in TFE solution are studied by NMR spectroscopy. One is a helix containing proline and the other is its alanine derivative in which alanine is substituted for the proline. Chemical shift and temperature coefficient In NMR spectroscopy can be used preliminarily to determine secondary structure in proteins and peptides.(omitted)
