We prove local existence and global uniqueness in one dimensional nonlinear hyperbolic inverse problems. The basic key for showing the local existence of inverse solution is the principle of contracted mapping. As an application, we consider a hyperbolic inverse problem with damping term.

The purpose of this study is to examine measures to improve government's supply oriented housing policy in population declining cities. For this purpose, system dynamics simulation method was used to build urban-housing model and different sets of housing policies were tested to see their impact on local housing problems. Simulation result shows that there is no best set of housing policies that can solve all housing problems in population declining cities. It also indicates that housing policy that solve one type of problems can worsen other type of problems. Housing policy that increases population size has negative effect of housing oversupply. It also increases proportion of old houses in population declining cities. However, housing policy that makes city younger with newer houses tends to increase housing shortage and housing price. So, policy choice needs to be made with clear understanding of trade off between different policies. The result also shows it is difficult to expect a full scale effect of housing policy on local housing problems unless it is executed with regional economic development policy because local housing problems are so closely related with local economic problem in population declining local cities.

This paper is focused on the desirable improvement schemes of the local network of information and telecommunication network. In this study, we examined whether polices of information and telecommunication of government have been carried out a desirable programme to meet the public interest, found out several problems in the these policies. Such problems as follows : (1) a system of local information & telecommunication is developing by a Model of Top-Down. In the present management system, an interest of the public of local society about the local telecommunication network is a much lower level, (2) there is no general controlling roll of the local information & telecommunication, (3) there is no service controlling system of local telecommuni-cation, and (4) there is no organic coordinating system of inter-departments in the central government level. In order to resolve these problems, this study suggests a few desirable sxhemes for the local telecommunication : (1) an establishment of middle-long range planning for the integrated future network of info-telecommunication, (2) an organizing of telecommunication network being suitable for the local characteristics toward B-ISDN.

High-rise buildings have some problems by stack effect. And, the solutions on the problems should be determined by considering an overall building. But, ordinarily, the countermeasures on the problems are applied to local part of the building. Local countermeasures often can be possible to arouse the secondary problems accompanied by the stack-effect. In this study, the usefulness of local countermeasures are evaluated in terms of both the reduction effect on problems and the possible secondary problems with simulations. The simulation results show that the application of countermeasures on an overall building is very important and that local countermeasures can be used optionally according to building's conditions.

최근 지역사회가 직면한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 지역주민의 참여, 지역사회 이해관계자들의 네트워크, 그리고 이들의 파트너십에 주목하고 있다. 이는 지역사회문제 해결기제로서 로컬거버넌스의 특성을 활용한 것이다. 이에 본 연구는 광주 푸른길 사례를 중심으로 지역사회복지 관점에서 로컬거버넌스 특성 분석을 시도하였다. 지역사회 문제해결에 있어 지역주민의 참여는 스스로 문제해결에 참여하고 지역사회 구성원과 소통을 통해 더 나은 해결방안을 찾아나감으로써 주민역량을 강화시킨다. 무엇보다 지역주민 참여의 질을 높이기 위해서는 지방정부의 복지정책 입안사항 및 지역사회복지계획 수립과정에 적극적으로 참여하는 등 지방정부와 지역주민간의 네트워킹 및 연대의 방안을 모색해 나가야 한다. 광주 푸른길은 지역사회 구성원들이 삶의 질 향상을 위해서 공동의 연대감을 갖고 사회적 상호작용을 통해 지역사회 내의 문제를 함께 해결하면서 지역사회에서의 공공선에 대한 가치를 실현한 지역사회복지의 사례라고 할 수 있다.

The problems of agriculture and food production in Korea are serious. These problems were brought about by the global food system. In this system, farmers and consumers are disconnected. The distance between food production on the farm to the consumer's table is too long. Farmers can not survive as their food dollar is steadily decreasing. Consumers have to eat old, unclean, and poor-quality foods because the foods do not come from nearby farms. They do not know where their food has come from or by whom their food was grown. In order to solve these problems, the transition from the global food system to a local food system is imperative. In a local food system, farmers and consumers are connected and they can help each other. This study identifies the consumers' role in the local food system. They are the purchasers of local food. They are active participants both in producing and distributing local food, and in taking part in the local food movement. Above all, they are the teachers of the younger generation consumers. While consumers in the global food system are passive, those in the local food system are active. We call the former "food illiterates" and the latter "food citizens." In order to revitalize the local food system, consumers must be food citizens, and therefore, consumer education is necessary. There are several interdependent media forms available for consumer education such as field trips, farm experiences, education for returning to the farm, and food education.

A new a posteriori error estimator is introduced and applied to variational inequalities occurring in problems of flow through porous media. In order to construct element-wise a posteriori error estimates the global error is localized by a special mixed formulation in which continuity conditions at interfaces are treated as constraints. This approach leads to error indicators which provide rigorous upper bounds of the element errors. A discussion of a compatibility condition for the well-posedness of the local error analysis problem is given. Two numerical examples are solved to check the compatibility of the local problems and convergence of the effectivity index both in a local and a global sense with respect to local refinements.

이 연구의 목적은 2009년부터 본격적으로 추진되어온 도서관정책의 성과와 한계를 지역 공공도서관정책의 건강성에 대한 점검을 통해 가늠해 보는 데 있다. 이를 위해, 지역 공공도서관정책의 법적 근거가 되는 도서관 조례와 내용적 길잡이가 되는 시행계획부터 점검하였다. 이어서 기존 정책이 지역 공공도서관에 가져온 긍정적 변화와 그 이면에 공존하는 부정적 모습을 밝혀내었다. 마지막으로, 기존 정책에 내재하는 구조적 한계에 집중하면서 정책의 건강성을 제고하기 위한 실사구시적인 처방을 모색하였다.

In this paper, we further investigate the local Hermitian and skew-Hermitian splitting (LHSS) iteration method and the modified LHSS (MLHSS) iteration method for solving generalized nonsymmetric saddle point problems with nonzero (2,2) blocks. When A is non-symmetric positive definite, the convergence conditions are obtained, which generalize some results of Jiang and Cao [M.-Q. Jiang and Y. Cao, On local Hermitian and Skew-Hermitian splitting iteration methods for generalized saddle point problems, J. Comput. Appl. Math., 2009(231): 973-982] for the generalized saddle point problems to generalized nonsymmetric saddle point problems with nonzero (2,2) blocks. Numerical experiments show the effectiveness of the iterative methods.

Evolutionary algorithms(EAs) have been successfully applied to many combinatorial optimization problems of various engineering fields. Recently, some comparative studies of EAs with other stochastic search algorithms have, however, shown that they are similar to, or even are not comparable to other heuristic search. In this paper, a new hybrid evolutionary algorithm utilizing a new local heuristic search, for combinatorial optimization problems, is presented. The new intelligent local heuristic search is described, and the behavior of the hybrid search algorithm is investigated on two well-known problems: traveling salesman problems (TSPs), and quadratic assignment problems(QAPs). The results indicate that the proposed hybrid is able to produce solutions of high quality compared with some of evolutionary and simulated annealing.
