Purpose: This study compared fracture strength and fracture modes between metal wire reinforcement and glass fiber reinforcement in repaired maxillary complete denture. Materials and methods: In this study, fracture was reproduced on center of maxillary complete dentures and the denture was repaired with auto-polymerizing resin. The experimental groups (n = 10) were subjected to the following condition: without reinforcing material (control group), reinforcing with metal wire (W group), reinforcing with glass fiber pre-impregnated with light-curing resin (SES MESH, INNO Dental Co., Yeoncheon, Korea, G group). The fracture strength and fracture modes of a maxillary complete denture were tested using Instron test machine (Instron Co., Canton, MA, USA) at a 5.0 mm/min crosshead speed. The flexure load was applied to center of denture with a 20 mm diameter ball attachment. When fracture occurred, the fracture mode was classified based on fracture lines. The Kruskal-wallis test and the Mann-whitney U test were performed to identify statistical differences at ${\alpha}=.05$. Results: W group showed the highest value of fracture strength, there was no significant difference (P>.05) between control group and G group. Control group and W group showed anteroposterior fracture mainly, group W showed adhesive fracture of denture base and reinforcing material. Conclusion: In limitation of this study, the glass fiber did not improve the fracture strength of repaired maxillary complete denture, and adhesive failure was occurred along the lines of glass fiber.
This study is to analyze the physical environment and conduct spatial data for bicycle road system in changwon. Index for evaluation index was developed based on literatures. Then the level of importance and weight have been modified through experts review. Finally, index with eight categories such as greenness(40% over), bicycle road connectivity(1.8, 9.8%), road type bike(bicycle lane, 24.4%), pave type(asphalt 72.5%), illegal parking(none, 93.9%), bike road surface visibility(exist, 46.8%), vehicle speed limits(30km, under), vehicle traffic(500/hr under, 44.3%) have been applied to empirical investigation. Collected data has been hierarchically classification by ArcGIS Program. The Highest grades(score 31-35, level 1) occupied 35% of target destination. High level of greenness and load type has contributed to high score. In addition, average level of greenness of those destination was 35% and higher, which provide high degree of security and freshness for bicycle riding. Meanwhile, lowest level(level 5, which earned 15 point or less) occupied 24.5%. illegal parking, low level of greenness, and no surface sign caused low score.
Gears are components of transmission which transmit the power of an engine to a machine and offer numerous speed ratios, a compact structure, and high efficiency of power transmission. Gear train design in the automotive industry uses simulation software. However, PTO (Power Take-Off) gear design for agricultural applications uses the empirical method because of the wide range of load fluctuations in agricultural fields. The PTO is an important part of agricultural tractors which transmits the power to various tractor implements. Therefore, a simulation was essential to the optimal design of the PTO. When the PTO gear is optimally designed, there are many advantages such as low cost, reduced size, and light weight. In this study, we conducted the bending and contact safety factor simulation for the PTO gear of an agricultural tractor. The bending and contact safety factors were calculated on ISO 6336 : 2006 by decreasing the face widths of the PTO pinion and wheel gear from 18 mm at an interval of 1 mm. The safety factor of the PTO gear decreased as the face width decreased. The contact safety factors of the pinion and wheel gear were 1.45 and 1.53, respectively, when the face width was 18 mm. The simulation results showed that the face width of the PTO gear should be greater than 9 mm to maintain the bending and contact safety factors higher than 1. It would be possible to reduce the weight of the PTO gear for different uses and working conditions. This study suggests that the possibility of designing an optimal PTO gear decreases as its face width decreases.
Objective: This paper presents a study to evaluate the WBGT index for assessing the effects of a wide range of outdoor weather conditions on human responses. Background: The Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) index was firstly developed for the assessment of hot outdoor conditions. It is a recognised index that is used world-wide. It may be useful over a range of outdoor conditions and not just for hot climates. Method: Four group experiments, involving people performing a light stepping activity, were conducted to determine human responses to outside conditions in the U.K. They were conducted in September 2007 (autumn), December 2007 (winter), March 2008 (spring) and June 2008 (summer). Environmental measurements included WBGT, air temperature, radiant temperature (including solar load), humidity and wind speed all measured at 1.2m above the ground, as well as weather data measured by a standard weather station at 3m to 4m above the ground. Participants' physiological and subjective responses were measured. When the overall results of the four seasons are considered, WBGT provided a strong prediction of physiological responses as well as subjective responses if aural temperature, heart rate and sweat production were measured. Results: WBGT is appropriate to predict thermal strain on a large group of ordinary people in moderate conditions. Consideration should be given to include the WBGT index in warning systems for a wide range of weather conditions. However, the WBGT overestimated physiological responses of subjects. In addition, tenfold Borg's RPE was significantly different with heart rate measured for the four conditions except autumn (p<0.05). Physiological and subjective responses over 60 minutes consistently showed a similar tendency in the relationships with the $WBGT_{head}$ and $WBGT_{abdomen}$. Conclusion: It was found that either $WBGT_{head}$ or $WBGT_{abdomen}$ could be measured if a measurement should be conducted at only one height. The relationship between the WBGT values and weather station data was also investigated. There was a significant relationship between WBGT values at the position of a person and weather station data. For UK daytime weather conditions ranging from an average air temperature of $6^{\circ}C$ to $21^{\circ}C$ with mean radiant temperatures of up to $57^{\circ}C$, the WBGT index could be used as a simple thermal index to indicate the effects of weather on people. Application: The result of evaluation of WBGT might help to develop the smart clothing for workers in industrial sites and improve the work environment in terms of considering workers' wellness.

This paper describes the real-time system which, through analyzing a sequence of images, can extract motional information on a moving object and can contol servo equipment to always locate the moving object at the center of an image frame. An image is a vast amount of two-dimensional signal, so it takes a lot of time to analyze the whole quantity of a given image. Especially, the time needed to load pixels from a memory to processor increase exponentially as the size of an image increases. To solve such a problem and track a moving object in real-time, this paper addresses how to selectively search the spatial and time domain. Based on the selective search of spatial and time domain, this paper suggests various types of techniques which are essential in implementing a real-time tracking system. That is, this paper describes how to detect an entrance of a moving object in the field of view of a camera and the direction of the entrance, how to determine the time interval of adjacent images, how to determine nonstationary areas formed by a moving object and calculated velocity and position information of a moving object based on the determined areas, how to control servo equipment to locate the moving object at the center of an image frame, and how to properly adjust time interval(${\Delta}$t) to track an object taking variable speed.
Dental ceramics have good aesthetics, biocompatibility, low thermal conductivity, abrasion resistance, and color stability. However poor resistance to fracture and shrinkage during firing process have been limiting factors in their use, particularly in multiunit ceramic restorations. A new method for making all-ceramic crowns that have high strength and low processing shrinkage has been developed and is referred to as the Vita In-Ceram method. This study was performed to investigate the effect of $CeO_2$ addition in borosilicate glasses on the strength of alumina-glass composites. Porous alumina compacts were prepared by slip casting and sintered at $1,100^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours. Dense composites were made by infiltration of molten glass into partially sintered alumina at $1,140^{\circ}C$ for 4 hours. Specimens were polished sequentially from #800 to #2000 diamond disk. and the final surface finishing on the tensile side was received an additional polishing sequence through $1{\mu}m$ diamond paste. Biaxial flexure test was conducted by using ball-on-three-ball method at a crosshead speed of 0.5mm/min. To examine the microstructural aspect of crack propagation in the alumina-glass composites, Vickers-produced indentation crack was made on the tensile surface at a load of 98.0 N and dwell time of 15 sec, and the radial crack patterns were examined by an optical microscope and a scanning electron microscope. The results obtained were summarized as follows; 1. The porosity rates of partially sintered alumina decreased with the rising of firing temperature. 2. The maximum biaxial flexure strength of 423.5MPa in alumina-glass composites was obtained with an addition of 3 mol% $CeO_2$ in glass composition and strength values showed the aspect of decrease with the increase of $CeO_2$ content. 3 The biaxial flexure strength values of alumina-glass composites were decreased with rising the firing temperature. 4. Observation of the fracture surfaces of alumina-glass composites indicated that the enhancement of strength in alumina-glass composites was due to the frictional or geometrical inter-locking of rough fracture surfaces and ligamentary bridging by intact islands of materials left behind the fracture front.
Purpose : The purpose of this study was to research the properties of some chemically cured methacrylate polymers such as MMA, HEMA, TEG-DMA, bis-GMA, GMA. Material and Method : 5 kinds of methacrylates were selected and added 2% tertiary amine and benzoyl peroxide to make a chemically curable polymer 25 micron crushed silicas which are treated with silane were selected as filler, they were added into methacrylate monomer until the consistency did not changed by the load of 500gram. All of the experimental resins were 5 kinds, and a serial test was done with 3 kinds of items including the filler contents, the tensile strength, and the bond strength. The number of specimen were 10 for each group. Filler contents were obtained by reducing the specimens to ashes at $600^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour. The specimens with the dimension of 6mm in diameter and 3mm thick were immersed in $37{\pm}1^{\circ}C$ distilled water for 24 hours before test, and tensile strength were measured with cross-head speed 1mm/min. Shear bond strength were mea sured on the specimens attached to bovine enamel etched with 37% phosphoric acid for 1 minute. Results : 1. Maximum filler incorporation was the highest as 75.5% on MMA, and the least as 53.4% on bis- GMA(p<0.0001). 2. The tensile stregth were MMA 141.3, GMA 154.3, TEG-DMA 157.4, bis-GMA 161.4 MPa, and HEMA showed the highest value, 226.9MPa(p = 0.0004). 3. The bond strength were GMA 10.1, TEG-DMA 11.7, HEMA 12.2, bis-GMA 13.3 MPa, and MMA showed the highest value, 15.3MPa, however statistical significances were not (p =0.3838), 4. TEG-DMA and HEMA were not different on the aspect of maximum filler contents and shear bond strength(p>0.05). Conclusion : HEMA can be used as an another diluent substituting TEG-DMA with the increased strength and with the constant bond strength and the constant filler contents.

Results: The fracture resistance of zirconia fixed partial dentures is not significantly affected by inter-abutment distance The fracture resistance of zirconia fixed partial dentures in CS Group was significantly higher in 15 mm of inter-abutment distance than in 13 mm and 17 mm of inter-abutment distance (P < 0.05). The fracture resistance of zirconia fixed partial dentures in S2 Group was not significantly different between the three groups (P > 0.05). Conclusion: The fracture resistance of zirconia fixed partial dentures with mandibular 2nd premolar and 2nd molar as abutments does not significantly affected by the inter-abutment distance.
The purpose of this study is to maintain high efficiency and reasonable use of cool thermal storage systems operated in the domestic building sector. As the result of efficiency test from the five types of operated cool storage systems on the condition that COP ranges are 2.6 to 3.4 during the day time and 2.1 to 3.0 during the night time and it decreased by more than 30% of rated COP given 3.8 to 3.0. The Analysis of cool storage rate shows that only 3 (21.4%) systems out of 15 buildings hold to over 40% capacity for its total capacity. To prevent the decrease in operating efficiency, it should correct the malfunction of 3-way valve and expansion valve and the mistake of control values for schedule program and increase cooling tower capacity. In order to improve piping line, it needs bypass brine line off refrigerator, separation of chilled water line with Ice Slurry system at day and night time and speed control of chilled and warm water pumps. This study does require the more studies on improving difficulty of increasing cooling load with Ice on Coil system, waterproofing with Ice Ball system, COP drop during the night time with Ice Lens, low operating temperature during the day time with Ice Slurry and increasing of Power loss due to hot gas de-icing with Ice Harvest in the future.

In this paper, a flow control mechanism is proposed which is based on the priority control between communication path of a node. In this scheme, demanding length of a data queue for any pre-defined, then each node in that path is forced to maintains buffer size under the limit by controlling priority level of the path. The communication path which requires higher bandwidth sets its demanding queue length smaller. By providing relationship between the priority of a path and length of its queue, the high bandwidth requesting path has a better chance to get high bandwidth by defining the smaller demanding queue size. And also, by forcing a path which has high flow rate to maintain small queue size in the path of the communication, the scheme keep the transmission delay of the path small. The size of the demanding queue of a path is regularly adjusted to meet the applications requirement, and the load status of the network during the life time of the communication. The priority control based on the demanding queue size is also provided in the intermediate nodes as well as the end nodes. By that the flow control can provide a quicker result than end to-end flow control, it provides better performance advantage especially for the high speed network.
