A three-dimensional numerical method based on the Green's integral equation is developed to predict the motion response and drift force in waves for the ocean monitoring facilities. In this method, we use source and doublet distribution, and triangular and rectangular eliments. To eliminate the irregular frequency phenomenon, the method of improved integral equation is applied and the time-mean drift force is calculated by the method of direct pressure integration over the body surface. To conform the validity of the present numerical method, some calculations for the floating sphere are performed and it is shown that the present method provides sufficiently reliable results. As a calculation example for the real facilities, the motion response and the drift force of the vertical cylinder type ocean monitoring buoy with 2.6 m diameter and 3,77 m draft are calculated and discussed. The obtained results of motion response can be used to determine the shape and dimension of the buoy to reduce the motion response, and other data such as the effect of motion reduction due to a damper can be predictable through these motion calculations. Also, the calculation results of drift force can be used in the design procedure of mooring system to predict the maximum wave load acting on the mooring system. The present method has, in principle, no restriction in the application to the arbitrary shape facilities. So, this method can be a robust tool for the design, installation, and operation of various kinds of the floating-type ocean monitoring facilities.

The shortest path is only maintained during short time because network topology changes very frequently and each mobile nodes communicate each other by depending on battery in MANET(Mobile Ad-hoc Network). So many researches that are to overcome a limitation or consider a power have executed actively by many researcher. But these protocols are considered only one side of link stability or power consumption so we can make high of stability but power consumption isn't efficient. And also we can reduce power consumption of network but the protocol can't make power consumption of balancing. For that reason we suggest RBSSPR(Residual Battery Capacity and Signal Strength Based Power-aware Routing Protocol in MANET). The RBSSPR considers residual capacity of battery and signal strength so it keeps not only a load balancing but also minimizing of power consumption. The RBSSPR is based on AODV(Ad-hoc On-demand Distance Vector Routing). We use ns-2 for simulation. This simulation result shows that RBSSPR can extense lifetime of network through distribution of traffic that is centralized into special node and reducing of power consumption.

Since Sensor nodes around a fixed sink have huge concentrated network traffic, the battery consumption of them is increased extremely. Therefore the lifetime of sensor networks is limited because of huge battery consumption. To address this problem, a mobile sink has been studied for load distribution among sensor nodes. Since a mobile sink changes its location in sensor networks continuously, the mobile sink has time limits to communicate with each sensor node and unstable signal strength from each sensor node. Therefore, a fair and stable data collection method between a mobile sink and sensor nodes is necessary in this environment. When some sensor nodes are not able to send data to the mobile sink, a real-time application in sensor networks cannot be provided. In this paper, the new scheduling method, FQMS (Fair Queuing for Mobile Sink), is proposed for fair and stable data collection for mobile sinks in sensor networks. The FQMS guarantees balanced data collecting between sensor nodes for a mobile sink. In out experiments, the FQMS receives more packets from sensor nodes than legacy scheduling methods and provides fair data collection, because moving speed of a mobile sink, distance between a mobile sink and sensor nodes and the number of sensor nodes are considered.

Concrete slab curls and warps due to the uneven distribution of temperature and moisture and as the result, internal stress develops within the slab. Therefore, environmental loads must be considered in addition to the traffic loads to predict the lifespan of the concrete pavement more accurately. The strength of the concrete slab is gradually decreases to a certain level at which fatigue cracking is generated by the repetitive traffic and environmental loadings. In this study, a new fatigue regression model was developed based on the results from previously performed studies. To verify the model, another laboratory flexural fatigue test program which was not used in the model development, was conducted and compared with the predictions of other existing models. Each fatigue model was applied to analysis logic of cumulative fatigue damage of concrete pavement developed in the study. The sensitivity of cumulative fatigue damage calculated by each model was analyzed for the design factors such as slab thickness, joint spacing, complex modulus of subgrade reaction and the load transfer at joints. As the result, the model developed in this study could reflect environmental loading more reasonably by improving other existing models which consider R, minimum/maximum stress ratio.

We investigated the concentrations of acid volatile sulfide (AVS), ignition loss (IL), total organic carbon (TOC), total nitrogen (TN), and metallic elements (As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Hg, Mn, Pb, and Zn), in August 2015, to determine the spatial distribution and pollution status of organic matter and metals in the surface sediment of Jinju Bay, a spraying shellfish farming area, Korea. The concentrations of organic matter and metallic elements were significantly higher in the southern part of the bay than in the mouth and center of the bay. The C/N ratio (5.7~8.0) in the sediment represents the dominance of organic matter of oceanic origin in the surface sediment of the study area. The concentrations of AVS, TOC, and metals (As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Hg, Pb, and Zn) were much lower than the values of the sediment quality guidelines applied in Korea. Based on the results of the pollution load index (PLI) and ecological risk index (ERI), the metal concentrations in the surface sediment of Jinju Bay have a weakly negative ecological effect on benthic organisms although the sediments with high metal pollution status are distributed in the southern parts of the bay, with high dense shellfish farming areas. Thus, the surface sediments in Jinju Bay are not polluted with organic matter and are slightly polluted with metallic elements.
The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of self-stretching exercises for iliotibial band (ITB) (Side-lying; right hip and knee were flexed to support the pelvis while left hip was extended and adducted, Standing A; side-bending of the trunk on standing with crossed leg, Standing B; same as Standing A, except the hands were clasped overhead and shifted right side, and Standing C; same as Standing B, except moving the arms diagonally downward) to help determine the most effective self-stretching method to stretch ITB. Twenty-one healthy subjects who do not have ITB shortness from Yonsei University (14 men and 7 women) between the ages of 18 to 28 years voluntarily participated. Ultrasound was performed to measure the thickness of the ITB between the long axis of the ITB and the level parallel to the lateral femoral epicondyle during four self-stretching exercises. All data were found to approximate a normal distribution. We used a one-way repeated-measures analysis of variance (ANOVA) to compare the thickness of the ITB among all self-stretching exercises. The level of significance was set at ${\alpha}$=.05. The ANOVA was followed by Bonferroni's correction. The overall mean of ITB thickness was $1.14{\pm}.4$ mm (${\pm}$ standard deviation) in resting status. The change in the ITB thickness in percentages between the tested position of each self-stretching exercises and resting status was significant (p<.05) (Side-lying $26.62{\pm}10.18%$ with 95% confidence interval [CI]=21.99~31.25%; Standing A $29.46{\pm}16.19%$ with 95% CI=22.09~36.84%; Standing B $44.06{\pm}14.82%$ with 95% CI=37.31~50.81%; Standing C $53.76{\pm}12.1%$ with 95% CI=48.25~59.29%). Results indicated significant differences among four self-stretching exercises except Side-lying versus Standing A (p<.01). Based on these findings, the Standing C self-stretching exercise was the most effective in stretching the ITB thickness among four types of ITB self-stretching exercises. Additionally, the Side-lying self-stretching exercise using gravity to stretch the ITB is recommended as a low-load (low-intensity), long-duration stretch.
The objective of this study is to determine the range of confinement (or the transverse reinforcement of the reinforced concrete structural walls with the T-shaped cross section subjected to cyclic lateral loads. The range of confinement for transverse reinforcement is related to the location of neutral axis and determined by the magnitude and distribution of compressive strain. The compressive strain depends on the ratio of wall cross sectional area to the floor-plan area, the aspect ratio, configuration, the axial load, and the reinforcement ratios. By affection of flange, the neutral axis appears different depending on positive and negative forces and because of this reason, when web and flange are subjected to compressive stress, the range of confinement for the transverse reinforcement of T-shaped walls would shows different result. Therefore this experimental research focused on the structural characteristics of T-shaped walls and suggested the neutral axis depth through comparing the results of this study with sectional analysis.

The semi-rigid joint is the shape of middle that can supplement the defect of pin joints and accept the good point of rigid joints. Recently, a study on the pin joints is activated in the country, but because the study on semi-rigid joints is not many, this study tried to prove with producing test model of three shape. The test models are rigid joint HI-R, semi-rigid joint HI-S, pin joint HI-P. As a result of the test, respectively HI-R, HI-S, HI-P appeared shear failure of joint, flexure failure of the top fixing, flexure failure of the lower part slipping stair slab, and the maximum strength is measured to 51.74, 51.4, 24.63kN, the stiffness is appeared 1.58, 1.19, 0.37 respectively, The yield strength is respectively kept 44.5, 47.3, 24kN, and ductility ratio is appeared to 3.31, 2.32, 1.54, when is based on KBC code, sag of the acting service load is appeared that HI-P model is over the standard. When is based on distribution of bars strain ratio, HI-S seems similar behavior incipiently, but after the yield, the semi-rigid joint was able to be judged better than pin joint because of the stress allotment of joint internal elements.
It has been generally recognized that the conventional rockfall protection nets have several problems to actual field application in the aspect of shock absorption, lack of pullout bearing capacities, and net damages. Because of the recognition, authors have tried to develop a new rockfall protection system consisted of shock absorption parts and hexagonal net configuration. In the previous research by the authors, the performance of the newly developed rockfall protection system has been investigated through the laboratory tests and the full-scale testing. In this study, subsequently, numerical analysis program is organized to make a confirmation of the structural stability and performance. For the correct design procedure of the hexagonal net system, it is essential to understand the various mechanical behavior of the entire system. It is also important to be reproduced the systematic characteristics of the system acquired by laboratory and full-scale testing by numerical analysis in order to carry out the numerical experiment to understand various mechanical behavior of the system. As a conclusion, the hexagonal net has better performance in mechanical and physical behavior compared with that of the rectangular net. Furthermore, due to the hexagonal net shows a good performance in aspect of the load distribution, it gives a good alternative in long-term management of the rockfall protection net.

Acoustic emission(AE) has emerged as a powerful nondestructive tool to detect any further growth or expansion of preexisting defects or to characterize failure mechanisms. Recently, this kind of technique, that is an in-situ monitoring of inside damages of materials or structures, becomes increasingly popular for monitoring the integrity of large structures like a huge wind turbine blade. In this study, the activities of AE signals generated from external artificial sources was evaluated and located by new developed signal mapping source location method and this test is conducted by 750 kW full-scale blade. And a new source location method was applied to assess the damage in the wind turbine blade during step-by-step static load test. In this static loading test, we have used a full scale blade of 100 kW in capacity. The results show that the acoustic emission activities give a good agreement with the stress distribution and damage location in the blade. Finally, the applicability of the new source location method was confirmed by comparison of the result of source location and experimental damage location.
