  • Given that elastic connection is often used between motor drives and load devices in industrial applications, vibration often occurs at the load side. Vibration suppression is a crucial problem that needs to be addressed to achieve a high-performance servo-control system. Scholars have presented many strategies to suppress vibration. In this study, we propose a method to diminish vibration by using a torque feed-forward and disturbance torque observer. We analyze the system performance and explain the principle of the proposed vibration suppression method based on the transfer functions of the system. The design of controller parameters is another important issue in practical applications. We accordingly provide a succinct outline of the design specifications based on the coefficient diagram method. Furthermore, we build a model under the Simulink environment and conduct experiments to validate the proposed method. Results show that speed and position vibrations are successfully suppressed by the proposed method.

  • This paper designed a robust control of an induction motor using a disturbance cancellation observer of a feedforward control. The speed response of conventional PI controller characteristic is affected by variations of load torque disturbance. In the proposed system, the speed control characteristic using a feedforward control isn't affected by a load torque disturbance. High speed calculation and processing for vector control is carried out by ADMC300 digital signal processor. Validity of the proposed control method is verified through simulation and experimental result.

  • In this paper, an improved predictive functional control (PFC) scheme for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) control system is proposed, on account of the standard PFC method cannot provides a satisfying disturbance rejection performance in the case of strong disturbances. The PFC-based method is first introduced in the control design of speed loop, since the good tracking and robustness properties of the PFC heavily depend on the accuracy of the internal model of the plant. However, in orthodox design of prediction model based control method, disturbances are not considered in the prediction model as well as the control design. A minimum-order observer (MOO) is introduced to estimate the disturbances, which structure is simple and can be realized at a low computational load. This paper adopted the MOO to observe the load torque, and the observations are then fed back into PFC model to rebuild it when considering the influence of perturbation. Therefore, an improved PFC strategy with torque compensation, called the PFC+MOO method, is presented. The validity of the proposed method was tested via simulation and experiments. Excellent results were obtained with respect to the speed trajectory tracking, stability, and disturbance rejection.

  • In order to obtain a good tracking performance of the motor, it is necessary to design a controller that can respond to a disturbance by including a disturbance observer. The disturbance observer of the motor is designed to estimate the load torque and the back electromotive voltage based on the first-order low-pass filter. A PI controller and an IP controller were designed to compare the correlation between the disturbance observer and the controller and to obtain improved control performance. To check the performance of the designed observer and the controller, it was applied to a 120 [W] class BLDC motor. As a result, overshoot is reduced, and it can be seen that the steady-state error converges to zero.

  • The purpose of this paper is to find an effective control system for a hydraulic motor-load system using matlab. The Hydraulic control system consists of a hydraulic pump, a hydraulic proportional control valve, hydraulic pipelines, a hydraulic motor and a load system. The simulation models were verified by comparing the simulation results with measured data from the real hydraulic proportional position control system. In order to compensate the nonlinear friction characteristics in a hydraulic motor-load system, a discrete time PD controller and Friction torque observer has been applied.

  • This paper deals with the disturbance observer (DOB) based sliding mode control (SMC) for a DC motor to control motor rotating speed precisely and to ensure strong robustness against disturbance including load torque and parameter variation. The reason of steady state error in speed on conventional SMC without DOB is analyzed in detail. Especially, the suggested DOB is designed to prevent measuring noise and harmonics caused by derivative operation on rotating speed. The control performance of the DOB based SMC is evaluated by the various simulations. The simulation results showed that the DOB based SMC had more robust performance than the SMC system without DOB. Especially, precise speed control was possible even though motor parameter variation and load torque was added to the system.

  • In this paper authors proposed a new nonlinear rotor flux observer for rotor field oriented control of an induction motor which is designed based on theory of the extended Luenberger observer(ELO) one of a nonlinear state observer. The proposed rotor flux observer is derived from the 2 phase model of induction motor by the theory of ELO. The simulation results taken under the varying condition of rotor resistance and load torque show fast convergence of estimated rotor flux and high performance of IM drive system is achieved 표 experiment.

  • This paper presents an implementation of high-dynamic performance control system of Reluctance Synchronous Motor (RSM) drives for an industrial servo system with direct torque control (DTC). The problems of DTC for high-dynamic performance and maximum efficiency RSM drives are the nonlinear variable flux and inductance due to a saturated stator linkage flux and nonlinear inductance curve with various load currents. The accurate estimation of the stator flux and torque are obtained using stator flux observer of which a saturated inductance Ld and Lq can be compensated by using the adapted neural network from measuring the modulus and angle of the stator current. To obtain fast torque response and maximum torque/current with varying load current, the reference command flux is ensured by imposing Ids=Iqs. This control strategy is proposed to fast response and optimal efficiency for RSM drive. In order to prove rightness of the suggested control algorithm, we have some actual experimental system using 6000 pulse/rev encoder at ${\pm}10$ and ${\pm}1500rpm$. The developed digitally high-performance control system are shown some good response characteristics of control results and high performance features using 1.0kW RSM of which has 2.57 Ld/Lq salient ratio.

  • This paper proposes a new fuzzy speed controller based on the Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy method to achieve a robust speed control of a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). The proposed controller requires the information of the load torque, so the second-order load torque observer is used to estimate it. The LMI condition is derived for the existence of the proposed fuzzy speed controller, and the gains of the controller are provided. It is proven that the augmented control system including the fuzzy speed controller and the load torque observer is exponentially stable. To evaluate the performance of the proposed fuzzy speed controller, the simulation and experimental results are presented under motor parameter variations. Finally, it is clearly verified that the proposed control method can accurately control the speed of a permanent magnet synchronous motor.
