  • Local governments should try to resolve the inequality of living SOC (Social Overhead Capital) and construct spatial information on the location of living SOCs and optimal locations. This study analyzed the accessibility, equity, and optimal location of the living SOC, considering the research needs related to the living SOC. The target facility is core living facilities(a public library, a park, a culture center, and a public daycare center). The analysis area is Suwon city in Gyeonggi province, and the base year of the analysis is 2020. The study calculated accessibility per population in a microscopic neighborhood living area(200m×200m). The Gini coefficient was used to identify the regional disparity in accessibility among Dong regions. The optimal location was explored with the Maximal Covering Location Problem theory. As a result, spatial accessibility of facilities except for public daycare centers revealed a large gap between regions. Areas with excellent accessibility also showed significant variations in the facilities. The regional disparity in living SOC was the largest in culture centers, followed by parks, public daycare centers, and public libraries. The optimal locations for public libraries, parks, and culture centers are concentrated in the old downtown, while those of public daycare centers are found throughout Suwon city. The results of this study are the crucial contents of spatial planning for SOC supply in local governments. Therefore, follow-up studies will be able to refer to the analysis structure and results of the study.

  • Service R&D that adds high value to existing products and service by scientification, IT convergence, intellectualization is a core business of creative economy. It is necessary to examine the service R&D revitalization plan by establishing service R&D hub researching the service R&D because a shortage of facility and infrastructure makes impossible to turn ideas into products (service). This research aims at establishing the implementation plan of service R&D hub that invigorates local service industries and contributes to carry out the plan. Service R&D hub is a focal point of service R&D activities which inter-connects service R&D activities distributed across ministries of central government and fields of studies, and which invigorates service R&D activities and enhances competitive power of service industries in Korea. It is necessary to establish main hub like Service Engineering Research Center in Japan and Fraunhofer IAO in Germany which take the lead in national service R&D activities, and make it build the solid foundation of service R&D activities in public sector and also create service innovation ecosystem. Considering the interdisciplinary characters of service R&D, it is essential to establish additional sub-hubs to meet a variety of demands of service R&D. It is also necessary to establish 'Living Lab', an open innovation system, which connects research institutions, universities, and corporates to make them target the specific fields of their own, and enhance open R&D and innovation in service industries.

  • It is possible to prevent a piston from contacting the cylinder by changing the shape of the piston or by applying micro-textures, such as micro-grooves or micro-holes, over the piston surface. Usually, the minimum radial clearance reaches its minimum value at the beginning of the suction stroke because the pressure around the piston is low and almost axisymmetric such that the net pressure force on the piston is not sufficiently high to support the piston from touching the cylinder. In this study, we apply a series of saw-tooth-shaped grooves on the piston surface, and numerically investigate the effects of groove depth, groove angle, and the number of grooves with radial clearance variations using a finite difference method. We conduct a dynamic analysis of the piston for various changes in groove geometries to obtain the minimum radial clearance variation for the entire compression cycle. The minimum radial clearance increases while friction loss decreases when we apply the series of saw-tooth-shaped grooves on the piston. In addition, we analyze the impact of the change in the groove shape variable due to changes in radial clearance. Leakage variations are relevant to radial clearance, but have almost no effect on the groove parameters.

  • The concept of sustainable development in rural area, which is focused on both preservation of nature and human's amenity, has been common paradigm. The purpose of this study is to suggest the development directions for the environmentally friendly rural house. The planning items for developing sustainable rural house were selected through literature survey, case study, and their adaptation evaluation. The establishment of principles and the evaluation of planning items were analyzed by a survey to experts. The results are as follows : 1) It is showed that sustainability evaluation of rural village is rated as above the moderate degree, but rural house is rated as 3.4(average score). Especially, there were lowly evaluated the utility, material, structure and inner environment in rural house. 2) It is revealed that 76.7% of planning items are located in both the upper left and upper right hand quadrant of the action grid, which is drawn by the importance-performance analysis(IPA). And any item is not found in the lower right hand quadrant(Possible Overkill). 3) Two basic principles and eight optional principles we identified by analysis of factor and regression. The rural zone is identified as major effective element for applying planning items into the rural house development. So it is desirable to apply the items differently by the rural zone type. 4) In view of sustainable development, it is desirable for rural village to have about 50 houses, and for rural house to have $155{\sim}180$ pyung(坪) as lot size, 30% as ratio of building, and 60% as building volume.

  • Developmental disorders are impairments of brain and/or central nervous system and refer to a disorder of brain function that affects languages, communication skills, perception, sociality and so on. In diagnosis of developmental disorders, behavioral response such as expressing emotions in proper situation is one of observable indicators that tells whether or not individual has the disorders. However, diagnosis by observation can allow subjective evaluation that leads erroneous conclusion. This research presents the technological environment and data acquisition system for AI based screening of autism disorder. The environment was built considering activities for two screening protocols, namely Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) and Behavior Development Screening for Toddler (BeDevel). The activities between therapist and baby during the screening are fully recorded. The proposed software in this research was designed to support recording, monitoring and data tagging for learning AI algorithms.

  • In museums, exhibition content focuses mostly on cultural heritage's historical values and functions, but doing so tends to limit visitors' interest and immersion. To counter this limitation, the study developed an experiential media art exhibition fusing bronze mirrors' traditional production technology and modern conservation science. First, for the exhibition system, scientific cultural heritage contents were projected on the three-dimensional (3D) printed bronze mirror through interactions between motion recognition digital information display (DID) and the projector. Then, a scenario of 17 missions in four stages (production process, corrosion mechanism, scientific analysis and diagnosis, and conservation treatment and restoration) was prepared according to the temporal spectrum. Additionally, various media art effects and interaction technologies were developed, so visitors could understand and become immersed in bronze mirrors' scientific content. A user test was evaluated through the living lab, reflecting generally high levels of satisfaction (90.2 points). Qualitative evaluation was generally positive, with comments such as "easy to understand and useful as the esoteric science exhibition was combined with media art" (16.7%), "wonderful and interesting" (11.7%), and "firsthand experience was good" (9.2%). By combining an esoteric science exhibition centered on principles and theories with visual media art and by developing an immersive directing method to provide high-level exhibition technology, the exhibition induced visitors' active participation. This exhibition's content can become an important platform for expanding universal museum exhibitions on archaeology, history, and art into conservation science.

  • The social problem-solving R&D is different from the goal and process in comparison with research aimed at scientific excellence and industrial innovation. It pursues social values and active participation of the end-user civil society. In this study, we try to derive its characteristics by analyzing the cases that are evaluated as successful social problem solving R&D project. In order to analyse the social problem-solving R & D case, these four variables are selected; 1) social and technological planning for problem solving 2) participatory technological development 3) law, system and delivery system development for innovation deployment 4) scale-up of new R&D process. Those are important issues identified through case studies: 1) the tools and support services needed to carry out social and technical planning effectively, 2) the role of the Living Lab to coordinate opinions with experts and users, 3) the legislative and institutional improvement activities as important as technological development, 4) researcher's change through interaction with end user.

  • Due to increase in concerns related to the climate change, state-wide promotion of the carbon neutrality has been in progress thus far. Smart City could be one of the measures as the initiative to mitigate the missions process. The primary purpose of Smart City can be summarized to be maximization of the social net-beneift to be returned for the local citizens and derivation of the optimal pattern of the energy consumption could belong to one of the elements included in the net-benefit. Currently, the energy consumption by the buildings has been determined to be responsible for the greatest consumption among the sectors considered to be energy-intensive. Moreover, considering the fact that the consumption by operations of HVAC is responsible for nearly 40% in the commercial buildings, it is virtually not possible to optimize schedules for the energy consumption with considerable deliverables from the perspective of the urban planners. Thus, the methods to implement the optimal schedules for the HVAC commissioned with the OHUs were concluded to be the suitable candidate resources for the simulation by EnergyPlus capable of monitoring the thermal changes in each subject space in the present research.
