M&S를 이용한 아연-공기전지 최적화 연구 (A Study on Optimizing Zinc-Air Batteries Using M&S)

  • Zinc-air batteries which has various merits in the aspect of energy density, power density and price relative to lithium based second batteries were extensively investigated recently. To develope and optimize these zinc-air batteries, the method of M&S is so efficient solution to reduce price and time. Therefore, in this paper, after executing mathematical modeling, I optimized the zinc-air battery through the simulation and make bolt-cell and discharge it to compare with simulation result. As a result, predictions are well agreed with experimental results.

  • 본 논문에서는 Li-air 배터리의 동작원리를 설명하고, 모델링을 위해 Li-air 배터리의 내부와 충전 및 방전 원리를 보여주고 SOC(State Of Charge) 추정을 위한 OCV(Open-circuit Voltage) 그래프의 분석과 회로도에 대해 설명 하였다. 더불어, 전류적산법의 원리를 적용하여 SOC 추정의 기준이 되는 값을 추출하였다.

  • Battery heat management is essential for high power and high energy battery system because it affects its performance, longevity, and safety. In this paper, we investigated the temperature of the 18650 Lithium Ion Battery Module used in a Energy Storage System (ESS) and the cooling method to minimize cell-to-cell temperature variation of battery module. For uniform temperature distribution within a battery module, the flow direction of the coolant in a battery module has been changed according to the time interval, and studied the effect of the cooling method on the temperature uniformity in a battery module which includes a number of battery cells. The experimental results show that bi-directional battery cooling method can effectively reduce the cell-to-cell temperature variation compared with the one-directional battery cooling. Furthermore, it is also found that bi-directional battery cooling can reduce the maximum temperature in a battery module.

전기방사법을 통한 주석산화물 나노튜브의 합성 및 리튬이차전지 음극으로의 응용 (Synthesis of SnO2 Nanotubes Via Electrospinning Process and Their Application to Lithium Ion Battery Anodes)

  • $SnO_2$ nanotubes were successfully synthesized using an electrospinning technique followed by calcination in air. The nanotubes were the single phase nature of $SnO_2$ and consisted of approximately 14 nm nanocrystals. SEM and TEM characterizations demonstrated that uniform hollow fibers with an average outer diameter of around 124 nm and wall thickness of around 25 nm were successfully obtained. As anode materials for lithium ion batteries, the $SnO_2$ nanotubes exhibited excellent cyclability and reversible capacity of $580mAhg^{-1}$ up to 25 cycles at $100mAg^{-1}$ as compared to $SnO_2$ nanoparticles with a capacity of ${\sim}200mAhg^{-1}$. Such excellent performance of the $SnO_2$ nanotube was related to the one-dimensional hollow structure which acted as a buffer zone during the volume contraction and expansion of Sn.

  • In the past ten years, $LiMn_2O_4$-based spinels have been extensively studied as positive electrode materials for lithium-ion batteries. To improve the cycle performance of spinel $LiMn_2O_4$ as the cathode of 4V class lithium secondary batteries, spinel phases $LiMn_2O_4$ were prepared at various temperatures ranging form 600-900$^{\cire}C$ in air. The results showed that charge.dischare capacity of $LiMn_2O_4$ varied at 1st temperature from $200^{\circ}C to 600^{\circ}C$ increase with increasing temperature. $LiMn_2O_4$ synthesized at 2nd temperature $750^{\circ}C$excellent charge.discharge capacity, efficiency and cyclability compared to the samplesynthesized different temperatures. The value of lst charge.discharge capacity was 121mAh/g, 118mAh/g, Also, the efficiency value was about 97%.

  • $LiCoO_2$ powder was synthesized by Sol-Gel method using inorganic materials. The starting materials, $CH_3COOLi^*2H_2O\;and\;Co(CH_3COO)_2{^*}4H_2O$, were mixed in the atomic ratio Li/Co of 1 and dissolved in i-propanol with acetic acid. The solution was dried for gelation, and finally obtained the pre-powder. The pre-powder were studied by thermal analysis. Based on the TGA result, heat treatment was performed at various temperature(500 to $800^{\circ}C$) for 2h in air atmosphere. The crystal structure, morphology, electrochemical property were carried out using XRD, SEM, cyclic voltammetry(CV).

PVA-전구체법을 적용한 $Li_xNi_{1-y}Co_yO_2$ 다결정성 분말의 합성 : 합성조건에 따른 리튬이온전지의 전기화학적 특성 고찰 (Synthesis of polycrystalline powder of $Li_xNi_{1-y}Co_yO_2$ via the PVA-precursor method : the effect of synthetic variation on the electrochemical property of the lithium ion battery)

  • PVA-전구체법을 사용하여, 리튬전지의 양극물질인 $Li_xNi_{1-y}Co_yO_2$의 다결정성 분말을 합성하였다. 합성된 분말을 양극물질로 사용하여 리튬이온전지를 제조하여 전지의 전기화학적 성질을 측정하였다. PVA와 금속이온간의 상대적 양, PVA의 농도 및 중합도, 열처리조건, 금속의 조성비 등 여러 다른 합성조건을 변화시키면서, 그러한 합성상의 조건 변화가 리튬이온전지의 전지특성과 어떠한 상호관계를 갖는지 조사하였다. 전지의 초기성능에 관한 한, PVA-전구체법으로 합성한 $Li_xNi_{1-y}Co_yO_2$의 경우, 최적의 조성은 x=1.0, y=0.26인 것으로 관찰되었다. PVA-전구체법으로 합성할 경우, 전구체에 남는 잔여탄소로 인해 형성되는 $Li_2CO_3$가 전지의 성능을 저하시키는 것으로 관찰되었다. 이를 제거하기 위해 건조 공기의 흐름 속에서 열처리를 하거나, 합성 후 2차 열처리 과정에서 $500^{\circ}C$의 온도에서 건조공기의 흐름을 유지하며 annealing 처리를 하는 것이 전지의 특성을 크게 개선하는 것으로 관찰되었다.

Preparation and Characterization of Spherical Carbon Composite for Use as Anode Material for Lithium Ion Batteries

  • A novel spherical carbon composite material, in which nanosized disordered carbons are dispersed in a soft carbon matrix, has been prepared and investigated for use as a potential anode material for lithium ion batteries. Disordered carbons were synthesized by ball milling natural graphite in air. The composite was prepared by mixing the ball-milled graphite with petroleum pitch powder, pelletizing the mixture, and pyrolyzing the pellets at $1200^{\circ}C$ in an argon flow. The ballmilled graphite consists of distorted nanocrystallites and amorphous phases. In the composite particle, nanosized flakes are uniformly distributed in a soft carbon matrix, as revealed by X-ray diffractometer (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) experiments. The composite is compatible with a pure propylene carbonate (PC) electrolyte and shows high rate capability and excellent cycling performance. The electrochemical properties are comparable to those of hard carbon.

리튬-공기전지용 탄소/망간산화물 복합구조 공기극의 전기화학적 특성 (Electrochemical Properties of Carbon/Manganese Oxide Composite Air Cathode for Lithium-Air Batteries)

  • 리튬-공기전지 공기극으로서 탄소 상에 직접 수열합성법으로 망간산화물을 생성한 탄소지지 망간산화물 촉매를 합성하였다. 각 수열합성 조건에 따라서 만들어진 복합체에 대한 XRD, FE-SEM 분석을 통하여, 복합체의 결정구조, 형태, 크기 등을 확인하였는데 특히, 수열합성 온도 및 시간이 각각 $170^{\circ}C$, 12시간인 조건에서 만들어진 산화망간은 길이가 40-50 nm인 막대 모양을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 합성된 복합체를 사용하여 만든 공기극과 리튬금속을 음극으로 하는 코인셀 형태의 리튬-공기전지를 만들어 전기화학적 특성을 조사한 결과 초기 방전 용량이 3,852 mAh/g으로 높았고 충 방전 횟수가 4회 정도 발현되었다.
