유체 부가질량 및 감쇠 결정시 점성 및 편심 영향에 대한 유한요소해석 (Finite Element Analysis for Evaluation of Viscous and Eccentricity Effects on Fluid Added Mass and Damping)

  • 일반적으로 유체-구조물 상호작용을 고려한 유체속 구조물들의 지진 및 진동해석에는 주어진 시스템에 대한 유체부가질량을 추정하여 구조물관 연계하는 단순해석 방법을 주로 사용한다. 실제로 유체속 구조물의 응답특성은 유체부가질량 뿐만 아니라 유체점성으로 인한 감쇠영향을 받으며 이들은 모두 연계항을 갖는 복잡한 행렬 형태로 나타난다. 본 연구에서는 비점성 및 점성 유체에 대한 Navier-Stokes 지배방정식의 선형화를 통한 유한요소 정식화를 유도하였다. 이를 이용하여 유한요소 해석 프로그램을 작성하고 6각형 단면특성을 갖는 액체금속로 노심에 대하여 덕트집합체 사이의 유체간격과 레이놀즈수 변화에 따른 유체부가질량과 유체감쇠에 대한 유한 요소 해석을 수행한 결과, 유체간격이 줄어들수록 유체부가질량은 유체점성의 영향을 크게 받고 유체감쇠는 점성으로 인하여 레이놀즈수의 영향을 크게 받는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 편심을 갖는 동축원통에 대한 유한요소 해석결과, 편심이 증가할수록 유체부가질량은 크게 증가하지만 유체감쇠는 편심이 작은 경우 거의 변화가 없으며 어느 일정 수준이상으로 편심이 커질 경우에는 크게 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다.

Longitudinal Modal Analysis of a LOX-filled Tank Using the Virtual Mass Method

  • For liquid rocket engine(LRE)-based space launch vehicles, longitudinal instability, often referred to as the pogo phenomenon in the literature is predicted. In the building block of system-level task, accurate dynamic modeling of a fluid-filled tank is an essential. This paper attempts to apply the virtual mass method that accounts for the interaction of the vehicle structure and the enclosed liquid oxygen to LOX-filled tanks. The virtual mass method is applied in a modal analysis considering the hydroelastic effect of the launch vehicle tank. This method involves an analysis of the fluid in the tank in the form of mass matrix. To verify the accuracy of this method, the experimental modal data of a small hemispherical tank is used. Finally, the virtual mass method is applied to a 1/8-scale space shuttle external tank. In addition, the LOX tank bottom pressure in the external tank model is estimated. The LOX tank bottom pressure is the factor required for the coupling of the LOX tank with the propulsion system. The small hemispherical tank analysis provides relatively accurate results, and the 1/8-scale space shuttle external tank provides reasonable results. The LOX tank bottom pressure is also similar to that in the numerical results of a previous analysis.

날개형 및 격막형 배플을 이용한 유체저장탱크 내부의 슬로싱 저감 연구 (A Study on the Reduction of the Sloshing of Storage Tank Using Wing and Diaphragm Baffle)

  • Storage tank filled with fluid has unique dynamic characteristics compared to general structures, due to the interaction between fluid and structure. The oscillation of the fluid surface caused by external forces is called sloshing, which occurs in moving vehicles with contained liquid masses, such as trucks, railroad cars, aircrafts, and liquid missles. In this study, the evaluation method for the reduction of sloshing, the optimized size and location of wing and diaphragm baffles are suggested based on the experimental results. The experimental device can simulate the translation motion. A rectangular tank and various baffles are fabricated to study on the sloshing characteristics. The forces measured using the load cell at tank wall and those are compared with each other through the Fourier transformation for various conditions. The study of the sloshing of the rectangular tank equipped with baffles is conducted under the same conditions with non-baffled rectangular tank experiment. From the experimental results, the sloshing reduction effect by the baffles is observed. In conclusion in case of diaphragm baffles, the optimized size ratio of the width of baffle to the water height is 0.44 and the installation location has no effect to the damping of sloshing. In case of wing baffles, the optimized size ratio of the width of baffle to the length of a rectangular tank is 0.1 and the optimized location ratio of the baffle to the water height is 0.9.

액적기반 미세유체장치에서 라이소자임 결정화 (Lysozyme Crystallization in Droplet-based Microfluidic Device)

  • 액적기반 미세유체 시스템을 이용해 난백단백질인 라이소자임의 결정화실험을 하였다. Flow-focusing 칩을 이용해 water-in-oil 형태의 액적을 만들고 페트리 디쉬와 십자몰드에 넣은 후, 액적 내부에서 라이소자임 수용액과 침전제 (NaCl) 사이의 액-액 반응을 관찰하였다. 그리고 수용액의 pH가 4.8일 때와 7.2일 때의 결정형태를 비교하였다. 그 결과, pH 4.8에서는 다면체 또는 판상형의 결정이 형성되었고, pH 7.2에서는 침상형 결정이 생성되었다. pH 4.8, 7.2 두 경우 액적이 홀로 있을 때에는 액적부피가 유지되거나 감소하면서 결정이 형성되었다. 하지만 액적이 서로 인접해 있을 때는 액적사이의 상호작용이 관찰되었고, 두 pH에서 다른 경향성을 보였다. pH 4.8에서는 인접한 액적의 부피에 영향을 주어 한 액적의 부피가 커졌고, 부피가 커진 액적에서 결정이 형성되었다. pH 7.2에서는 부피에 영향을 서로 주지 않고 각각의 액적에서 결정이 형성되었다.

A Comprehensive Identification of Synaptic Vesicle Proteins in Rat Brains by cRPLC/MS-MS and 2DE/MALDI-TOF-MS

  • Proteomic analyses of synaptic vesicle fraction from rat brain have been performed for the better understanding of vesicle regulation and signal transmission. Two different approaches were applied to identify proteins in synaptic vesicle fraction. First, the isolated synaptic vesicle proteins were treated with trypsin, and the resulting peptides were analyzed using a high-pressure capillary reversed phase liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry (cRPLC/MS/MS). Alternatively, proteins were separated by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2DE) and identified by matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF/MS). Total 18 and 52 proteins were identified from cRPLC/MS-MS and 2DE-MALDI-TOF-MS analysis, respectively. Among them only 2 proteins were identified by both methods. Of the proteins identified, 70% were soluble proteins and 30% were membrane proteins. They were categorized by their functions in vesicle trafficking and biogenesis, energy metabolism, signal transduction, transport and unknown functions. Among them, 27 proteins were not previously reported as synaptic proteins. The cellular functions of unknown proteins were estimated from the analysis of domain structure, expression profile and predicted interaction partners.

SAFT 상태 방정식과 회합성 유체 혼합물의 기액 상평형 (SAFT Equation of State for Vapor-liquid Phase Equilibria of Associating Fluid Mixtures)

  • SAFT 상태 방정식이 기초하는 TPT 이론과 통계역학적 원리를 개괄하고, 회합성 유체 혼합물의 기액 상평형을 예측하는 유용한 도구로 사용될 수 있음을 확인한다. PC-SAFT 상태 방정식의 이론적 구조를 상세히 검토하고, 비극성 혼합물, 극성혼합물, 회합성혼합물에단계적으로적용하는과정을통하여, 상태방정식의적용성과성능을평가한다. PC-SAFT 상태 방정식은 기존의 공학용 상태 방정식과는 대조적으로, 경험적인 이성분 상호작용 매개변수의 사용 없이 다양한 혼합물들의 비이상적 거동을 정확하게 예측할 수 있다. 이는 SAFT 이론이 분자들 사이의 다양한 상호작용을 효과적으로 반영하는 분자 수준의 엄밀한 이론 체계에 기초하기 때문이며, 다성분 혼합물의 복잡한 열역학적인 현상에 대한 응용에서 실질적 이점을 제공한다.

Numerical analysis on two-phase flow-induced vibrations at different flow regimes in a spiral tube

  • Spiral tubes are used in a wide range of applications and it is significant to understand the vibration introduced by two-phase flow in spiral tubes. In this paper, the numerical method is used to study the vibration induced by the gas-liquid two-phase flow in a spiral tube with different flow regimes. The pressure fluctuation characteristics at the pipe wall and the solid vibration response characteristics are obtained. The results show that the motion of small bubbles in bubbly flow leads to small pressure fluctuations with low-frequency broadband (0-50 Hz). The motion of the gas plug in the plug flow causes small amplitude periodic pressure fluctuation with a shortened low-frequency broadband (0-15 Hz) compared to the bubbly flow. The motion of the gas slug in the slug flow causes large periodic fluctuations in pressure with a significant dominant frequency (6-7 Hz). The wavy flow is very stable and has a distinct main frequency (1-2 Hz). The vibration regime in the bubbly flow and wave flow are close to the first-order mode, and the vertical vibrating component is dominant. The plug flow and slug flow excite higher-order vibration modes, and the lateral vibration component plays more important part in the vibration response.

수평원통형 저장탱크의 지진취약도 해석 (Seismic Fragility Analysis of Ground Supported Horizontal Cylindrical Tank)

  • 유연한 벽체를 가지면서 내용물이 일부분 저장된 수평원통형 저장탱크의 내진성능을 평가하기 위하여 지진취약도 해석을 수행하였다. 충격질량과 유연질량의 두 개의 집중질량을 갖는 등가의 간이모델로 저장탱크를 모델화하였으며, 이 모델의 유효성은 구조물-유체 상호작용을 고려한 3D 해석모델의 응답이력해석을 통해서 검증하였다. 이 등가의 간이모델에 대해서 양방향 지반운동에 대해 지진해석을 수행하였으며 종축방향과 직각방향에 대해 안정성과 관련한 지진취약도 곡선을 도출하였다. 그 결과 수평원통형 저장탱크는 직각방향에 대해서 지진 시 피해가 발생할 가능성이 큰 것으로 평가되었다.

  • Many electronic products employ menu-driven interfaces for user-system dialogue. Unlike the software user interfaces, a small single-line display, such as a Liquid Crystal Display, is typically used to present menu items. Since the display can show only a single menu item at a time, more serious navigation problems are expected with single-line display menus(SDM). This study attempts to provide a set of unique guidelines for the design of the SDM based on empirical results. A human factors experiment was conducted to examine the effects of four design variables: menu structure, user experience, navigation aid, and number of targets. The usability of design alternatives was measured quantitatively in four different aspects, which were speed, accuracy, inefficiency of navigation, and subjective user preference. The analysis of variance was used to test the statistical effects of the design variables and their interaction effects. A set of design guidelines was drawn from the results which can be applied to the design of human-system interfaces of a wide variety of electronic consumer products using such displays. Since more generalized guidelines could be provided by constructing prediction models based on the empirical data, some powerful performance models are also required for the SDM. As a preliminary study, a survey was done on the performance models for ordinary computer menus.

  • The physicochemical properties of the LB films were by AFM. We give pressure stimulation into organic thin films and then manufacture a device under the accumulation condition that the state surface pressure is 2, 10, 30[mN/m].
