We have studied how rubbing direction affects generation of disclination line in transmissive microdisplay for $90^{\circ}$ twisted nematic (TN) mode with pixel size of $22.2{\mu}m$. The rubbing direction of bottom substrate is changed from $0^{\circ}$ to $-135^{\circ}$ with a decrease step of $45^{\circ}$, and the results show that the generation regions of the disclination line are of a smallest size in $-135^{\circ}$ direction. The results were the same although the pixel size decreased. Consequently, the use of proper rubbing direction of liquid crystal can help overcome the problems of low aperture ratio and low contrast ratio in transmissive-type microdisplays. In addition, the pretilt angle of initial liquid crystal is found to make an important contribution to generation of the disclination line.
In this study, the amorphous foil filler, thickness of 20 - $20~30\mu\textrm{m}$ was made to develop Cu-7.5wt%Mn-7.5wt%Si insert alloy(melting point temperature : solidus line 1003K, liquidus line 1070K). Liquid phase diffusion bonding of 304 stainless steels (STS304), is carried out successfully by using developed Cu-7.5Mn-7.5Si insert alloy. Bonding conditions are taken from bonding pressure of 5MPa, bonding temperatures from 1073K to 1423K varied within 50K and brazing holding times of 0, 30, 60 and 240 minutes. As the results, the tensile strength in the liquid phase diffusion bonding is a little bit lower than that in the solid phase diffusion bonding. The authors find out that the liquid phase diffusion bonding needs lower bonding pressure than the others. Therefore, the liquid phase diffusion bonding had an excellent brazability in which the bonding process showed the typical mechanism of diffusion bonding. In corresponding, the new developed insert alloy of low melting pointed Cu-7.5Mn-7.5Si makes possible brazing between the STS304.
Liquid-liquid equilibrium data for the quaternary system water +tetrahydrofuran + butyl acetate + isoamyl alcohol mixture were measured at 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure. Binodal curves, tie-lines, distribution, and selectivity for the quaternary system have been determined in order to investigate the effect of using binary solvents, butyl acetate and isoamyl alcohol, on extracting tetrahydrofuran from aqueous solution. In addition, these experimental tie-line data were also compared with the values predicted by the UNIFAC model. For the quaternary system, an average root-mean-square deviation for the system in 75/25, 50/50, and 25/75 mass ratios as mixed solvents are(3.35, 5.21 and 5.65) %, respectively.
Impinging angle, impinging distance, length eve. diameter and injection pressure of a triplet injector were tested to evaluate the spray characteristics injected by liquid/gas combinations. Two different kinds of unlike triplet sprays were produced by changing the gas and liquid feed lines. One was the G-L-G(Gas-Liquid-Gas) type, and the other was L-G-L(Liquid-Gas-Liquid) type. Spray angles were wider with the G-L-G type than with L-G-L type. Mass distributions in spray were obtained with a, mechanical patternator. Mass distributions were not circular but elliptical distributions. When the range of mechanical patternator to injector decreased, mass distributions were more concentrated in the center region.

In development of liquid-propellant rocket engine, engine gimbaling requires various types of bellows movements and cryogenic insulation is applied with movement-based design and material on each axial and circular bellows. Cryogenic insulation of Bellows for high pressure line and recirculation line are necessary to maintain cryogenic temperature for engien efficiency and protect from heat transfer and radiation of high temperature components during engine gimbaling.

The analytical method for 16 organophosphorus pesticides was developed in this study. The 16 organophosphorus pesticides were analyzed by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS/MS) using on-line solid phase extraction (on-line SPE) with PLRP- S cartridge. Analysis of all analytes in the MS/MS was processed in the electrospray ioni-zation (ESI) positive mode. They are Azinphos ethyl, Chlorfenvinphos, Ethion, Famphur, Phosmet, Phosphamidon, Terbufos, Aspon, Chlorpyrifos-methyl, Crotoxyphos, Dichlofenthi-on, Dicrotophos, Fonofos, Thionazin, Dimethoate and Iprobenfos. Limits of detection (LODs) and Limits of quantification(LOQs) were obtained as 0.8~2.0 ng/L and 2.6~6.4 ng/L, respectively. All compounds were not detected at the 8 sampling points of the raw water and clean water.
This paper presents experimental observation of asymmetric electrohydrodynamic flow generated around a pair of symmetric coplanar electrodes. Electrodes are attached on the bottom of the cavity containing a dielectric liquid, i.e., a mixture of dodecane and 0.5% wt Span80. In the first experiment, an AC voltage of 1500 V is applied with the frequency varying in the range 10~500 hz and the left electrode being grounded. The flow patterns show that the center line of vortices is unexpectedly tilted to the left side. If the right side electrode is grounded, the center line is tilted to the right side. The magnitude of the fluid velocity shows an irregular variation with the frequency in the range 10 Hz~100 Hz, beyond which it simply decays. In the second experiment, we applied fixed AC with 1000 V and 60 Hz superposed by DC voltage varying in the range -1000 V ~ +1000 V. The center line of the flow pattern is tilted to the right side with positive DC voltage and to the left side with negative DC. We have managed to show that the flow pattern can be symmetric with a suitable combination of DC and AC, e.g., DC 850 V plus AC 1000 V with the frequency 10 Hz.

The performance test of recirculation line in propellant feeding system was carried out. Liquid oxygen was used as cryogenic propellant and helium was used as recirculation promotion gas. Tests were done in cases at atmospheric pressure and at pressure of 4 barg in the ullage space of propellant tank. Liquid oxygen recirculation flowrate with helium injection flowrate and temperature distribution along the line were measured. There was appropriate helium injection flowrate for gas-lift recirculation system. Test data were used to make calculation program by test data correlation method. In this paper the procedure of calculation was presented and the results were compared to test data.
Operating characteristics of a loop heat pipe (LHP) having a bypass line was investigated experimentally. The LHP had a sintered metal wick as a capillary structure and methanol as a working fluid. The sintered metal wick was made of stainless steel of which the average pore size was 5 ${\mu}m$and porosity of 47%. A bypass line of a small diameter was attached between the vapor escape passage and the liquid reservoir. The dimension of the flat evaporator was $50(L){\times}40(W){\times}30(H)$ mm and that of the condenser was $50(L){\times}40(W){\times}11(H)$ mm. Wall and pipe material of the LHP was stainless steel and heating area was 35(W) mm${\times}$35(L) mm. The inner diameters of vapor and liquid transport lines were 4.0 mm and 2.0 mm, and the lengths of the two lines were both 0.5 m. The LHP was tested for three different tilt angles of horizontal, favorite tilt, and adverse tilt. The thermal load range was up to 290 W at the condenser above evaporation position. Furthermore, the effect of a bypass line on the start-up transient as well as steady-state operation was presented and discussed.
Due to the rising cost of energy, new separation processes based on extraction are becoming more attractive than before. Thus, the need for calculating and predicting liquid-liquid equilibria(LLE) compositions has very much increased. The purpose of this study is to determine the binodal curves, tie line, plait point, distribution and selectivity for the ternary systems of 2-propanol-water with methyl ethyl ketone, methyl isobutyl ketone, ethylacetate, toluene and o-xylene as solvents at $25^{\circ}C$. And those tie line data were used to examine thermodynamic consistency. The experimental tie line data were correlated with NRTL and UNIQUAC models.
