This study is to discuss the effect of the liquid type high early strength agent considering early strength, developing strength, and economics of the concrete using admixtures. The powder type high early strength agent does not helpful because the field application is not available such as the problem of mixing process and rack of economics. To make up these subjects, the plain mixture contains the standard type AE water reducing agent, and the types of the agents are the standard type AE water reducing agent(P),liquid type high early strength agent(AD),poly carboxylate high early strength type AE water reducing agent(E1), and naphthalene + melamine high early strength type AE water reducing agent(E2). As the Contents of the agents, E1 and E2 is two types each cases, and P is one type to satisfy the target fluidity and air content, AD is three types as 0.5, 1.0,and 1.5%. In the case that AD is mixed, the fluidity is decreased, but air content is increased. For increasing strength of the early age, using OPC is more effective than FA and BS for increasing the early strength of the concrete, and if the air content is secure as plain, the effect of the developing strength can be increased because the air content is increased about 2% in the case that AD is used.
According to KS F 2560, water-reducing agents used when mixing concrete are to undergo quality evaluation testing slump, air contents, setting time, etc., when delivered from the admixture factory to the ready mixed concrete site. Yet in actual acceptance testing this could be substituted by the score report of the admixture company, in which a possibility of low reliability lies. Therefore this study sought to analyze whether by artificially changing the solid content rate of lignin- and naphthalene-based water-reducing agents and using a liquid densimeter evaluate the quality of the admixture. The results showed that the Type B liquid densimeter was most appropriate and 50cc the most appropriate capacity for the mass cylinder. Also, judging from the changes in density and pH according to the changes in solid content rate, it concludes that a rapid appraisal of the quality of lignin- and naphthalene-based water-reducing agents would be possible using a Type B liquid densimeter.
Laboratory scale experiments on in-situ ozonation were carried out to delineate the effects of liquid phases, such as soil water and nonaqeous phase liquid (NAPL) on the transport of gaseous ozone in unsaturated soil. Soil water enhanced the transport of ozone due to water film effect, which prevent direct reaction between soil particles and gaseous ozone, and increased water content reduced the breakthrough time of ozone because of increased average linear velocity of ozone and decreased air-water interface area. Diesel fuel as NAPL also played a similar role with water film, so the breakthrough time of ozone in diesel-contaminated soil was significantly reduced compared with uncontaminated soil. However, ozone breakthrough time was retarded with increased diesel concentration, because of high reactivity of diesel fuel with ozone. In multiphase liquid system of unsaturated soil, the ozone transport was mainly Influenced by nonwetting fluid, diesel fuel in this study.
Spray characteristics on diesel- water emulsion are analyzed in high pressure injection for several variables such as water content, injection pressure. Spray Patterns were visualized under various water content and injection pressures. Spray tip penetration was increased and spray angle decreased in accordance with increasing of water content. But these characteristics were enhanced with increase of injection pressure to high pressure.

This paper explains the effects of wood drying on treatability (as determined by water uptake) of Japanese red pine (Pinus densiflora S. et Z.) at the sevenmoisture content (MC) levels above and below the fiber saturation point (FSP). According to the experimental results, it was found that water uptake (as the percentage of void volume filledwith distilled water, VVF%) was influenced by level of moisture content and percentage of void volume filled was improved effectively by kiln drying process. A significant relationship between moisture content and treatability was established. Permeability and liquid uptake were decreased above the FSP due to the effect of the less void space available in wood. Even though increased liquid uptake was observed at lower moisture content, no significant differences was observed moisture content below 20%. Therefore, this species need to be initially dried below FSP before treated with liquids. But drying moisture content below 10% might not be economical for the commercial purpose comparing drying the wood between 10 and 20% moisture content. The result of this study inferred that the treatability of pine wood can be improved by reducing the moisture content up to a certain level of 10~20% for allowing better performance.
Icing cloud generation system was developed to perform the in-flight icing simulation test for T-50 Supersonic Jet Trainer on the ground. The developed system successfully generated the almost natural icing cloud in the super-cooled state (liquid state) below freezing point and with the required LWC (Liquid Water Content). For full-scale aircraft icing test, an icing scaling method was adopted due to the limitation of wind generation speed with open-circuit type blower and its applicability was experimentally verified. Under the required in-flight icing condition based on the icing scaling method, T-50 aircraft subsystems were successfully operated and functionally checked.
Dredged soil from sea has much higher water content than liquid limit of clay and even if small loads apply, it will suffer a great settlement. Therefore it is very difficult to perform a consolidation test with general consolidation apparatus because of high water content. In this study Rowe Cell Apparatus consolidation tests have been performed with 1 remolding clay of water content 56% and 4 slurry clays of a water content of 100%, 120%, 133% and 150%. From the test results the consolidation characteristics such as compression index, secondary compression index and consolidation coefficient have been investigated with a variation of water content of dredged soil. The equations to get consolidation constants such as a compression index, a consolidation coefficient have been proposed with the field water content.
A series of laboratory tests were conducted to investigate the geotechnical engineering characteristics of muskeg soil for construction machinery widely distributed in cambridge region in Canada which makes problems in construction works. Physical characteristics of cambridge region muskeg soil were measured in terms of such categories as nature water content, organic content, specfic gravity, liquid limit, and plasticity index. As the test result, it was found that nature water content, organic content, specific gravity, liquid limit, plasticity index, and compression strength were 50.8~343.8%, 12.1~42.5%, 1.76~2.57, 46.6~440.2%, 25.6~280.5, $0.665{\sim}1.537kg/cm^2$, respectively.
Many researches on pressure-swirl injectors due to the variety of application have been conducted on the effects of nozzle design, operating conditions, properties of liquid and ambient conditions on the flow and spray characteristics. The breakup length of conical emulsified fuel sheet resulting from pressure-swirl atomizer using in the oil burner was investigated with the digital image processing method with neat light oil and emulsion with water content of lotto% and the surfactant content of 1-3%. The injection pressure ranged from 0.1 to 1.2 MPa was selected. The various regimes for the stage of spray development within the experimental conditions selected in this study is newly suggested in terms of Ohnesorge number and injection pressure. The breakup length for both criteria show the same tendency even though the random nature of perforation and disintegration process of liquid sheet. The stage of spray development is widely different with the physical properties of liquid atomized, mainly viscosity of liquid. The breakup length decreases smoothly with increase in the injection pressure for the lower viscous liquid.

This study aimed to increase the sugar and ethanol yield from the mengkuang plant biomass through biological and liquid hot water (LHW) pretreatment and their combination. The results showed that biological pretreatments with 5% inoculum of the fungus Trametes versicolor resulted in the highest alpha cellulose content incubated for 30 days, and 10% inoculum resulted in the lowest lignin content. LHW pretreatment decreased the hemicellulose content of pulps from 10.17% to 9.99%. T. versicolor altered the structure of the mengkuang pulp by degrading the lignin and lignocellulose matrix. The resulting delignification and cellulose degradation facilitate the hydrolysis of cellulose into sugars. The alpha cellulose content after biological-LHW pretreatment was higher (78.99%) compared to LHW-biological pretreatment (76.85%). Scanning electron microscopy analysis showed that biological-LHW combinated treatment degrades the cell wall structures. The ethanol yield for biological-LHW pretreated sample was observed 43.86% (13.11 g/L ethanol by weight of the substrate, which is much higher than that of LHW-biological pretreatment (34.02%; 9.097 g/L). The highest reducing sugar content about 45.10% was observed with a resulting ethanol content of 15.5 g/L at LHW pretreatment temperature of $180^{\circ}C$ for 30 min.
