One of the major issues in the material-based or acceptance quality characteristics asphalt pavement Quality Assurance (QA) is that the method does not have rationality to link between the individual materials and the projected performance of the pavement. A new asphalt mix QA method has been recently developed under a national research project using the probabilistic Performance Related Specification (PRS). This advanced PRS QA methodology integrates the AASHTOWare Pavement ME Design$^{(R)}$ technology with the simple performance test concept that bridges the material characteristics with the pavement performance. This paper presents a case study of asphalt pavement performance using the developed PRS QA computer program, named Quality Related Specification Software (QRSS), with an actual pavement project, to demonstrate the developed PRS procedure and to assess the robustness of QRSS in terms of the rationality of the distress predictions. The results of this limited case study show that the new PRS QA method reasonably predicts the pavement performance, properly applied the probabilistic methods, and produced rational pay adjustment.

This study is to verify the influence of salesperson's nonverbal communication on consumer emotions, and service quality in fashion shopping. This study sample is limited to Busan and Kyungnam Province's fashion shopping consumers. The responders included 239. Data were analyzed by frequency, factor analysis, and AMOS. As the results, kinesics, proxemics, paralanguage, and physical appearance are a major influence on positive consumer emotions that influence service quality. Kinesics and proxemics are a major influence on negative consumer emotions; however, paralanguage, and physical appearance are not a major determinant to influence negative consumer emotions; in addition, there is a direct link between negative consumer emotions and service quality. Also, consumer emotions mediated the relationship between nonverbal communication and service quality. Therefore, fashion firms should train employee manners to ensure that nonverbal communication is important in service encounters.

As BIM in the construction industry has been activated, the building information reliability - design quality is getting important. Meanwhile, it is still difficult to reflect the quality control experience to the modelling since the current methods are strongly rely on a certain BIM tools or systems with formal logics and limited information for quality checking. Therefore, the checking results may contain a lot of issues unrelated or unnecessary to the BIM qualities. In order to overcome this problem, we firstly performed clash check using a conventional checking tool and secondly interpret the results by an Expert System to filter out more meaningful results. We found this study gave a confirmation that it is possible to improve clash quality control when we link the expert experience to the rule-based automatic checking system.

We propose a new routing protocol, MCQosR, that is based on bandwidth estimation, admission control, and a routing metric, MCCR - suitable for wireless ad-hoc networks with multiple radios and channels. To use the full capacity of a wireless link, we assume a node with multiple radios for full duplex operation, and a radio using multiple channels to exclude route-intra interference. This makes it possible to use the capacity of a wireless link. Then, to provide bandwidth and delay guarantee, we have a radio with a fixed channel for layer-3 data reception at each node, used to estimate the available bandwidth and expected delay of a wireless link. Based on the estimate of available bandwidth and delay, we apply the call admission control to a new call requiring bandwidth and delay guarantee. New calls with traffic that will overflow link or network capacity are rejected so the accepted calls can use the required bandwidth and delay. Finally, we propose a routing metric, MCCR, which considers the channel contentions and collisions of a wireless link operating in CSMA/CA. MCCR is useful for finding a route with less traffic and distributing traffic over the network to prevent network congestion as much as possible. The simulation of the MCQosR protocol and the MCCR metric shows traffic is distributed and guaranteed service is provided for accepted calls.

In Webspace, mining traversal patterns is to understand user's path traversal patterns. On this mining, it has a unique characteristic which objects (for example, URLs) may be visited due to their positions rather than contents, because users move to other objects according to providing information services. As a consequence, it becomes very complex to extract meaningful information from these data. Recently discovering traversal patterns has been an important problem in data mining because there has been an increasing amount of research activity on various aspects of improving the quality of information services. This paper presents a Dynamic Link Recommendation (DLR) algorithm that recommends link sets on a Web site through mining frequent traversal patterns. It can be employed to any Web site with massive amounts of data. Our experimentation with two real Weblog data clearly validate that our method outperforms traditional method.

In this paper, We propose the visible light communication(VLC) link based on white light emitting diode (LED) and Photo detector(PD). The proposed architecture is demonstrated experimentally and its performance is verified through the experimental results of quality-factor(Q-factor) and eye pattern of 10Mb/s PRBS signal. The ambient light effect from a typical type fluorescent lamp source was also analyzed. when the distance between the LED and the PD is about 1m, error free wireless transmission of the LED was achieved up to 10Mb/s data rate. Under the condition with ambient light, low BER, data transmission of the VLC link is achieved up to 5Mb/s data rate at 1m. Also, when the PD is placed away from the center, low BER data transmission of the VLC link is achieved up to 1Mb/s at 10cm and 10Mb/s at 5cm.

While ATM technology results in considerable advantages(less overhead, increased throughput) in an optical networks, It causes severe problems(single and burst error) when ATM is transmitted over an error-prone channel, such as wireless link. In this paper we describe our investigation on ATM over wireless network. we first evaluate performance of ATM data transmission over a wireless link. Secondly we analyze performance improvements of Forward Error Correction(FEC) or ARQ(Automatic Repeat reQuest) scheme applied to wireless ATM link and provide performance comparison between FEC and ARQ through the use of packet error rate and throughput. Lastly we suggest error control architecture to overcome the impact of the bit error characteristics of a wireless link on wireless ATM network.

[purpose] This study was conducted to identify how a hospital's outsourcing workers' QWL influences Turnover Intention and to determine Dual Commitment cause any discrepancies in regards to the link between QWL and Turnover Intention. [Methodology/Approach] The study is based on 254 survey sheets answered by outsourcing employees working at general hospitals with more than 300 beds in Seoul and the methods of analysis used are as follows: reliability analysis, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, and hierarchical regressions analysis. [Findings] The study results First, analyzing how different types of QWL (individual, organizational, managemental) influence Turnover Intention, R2 turned out to be 30.7% and organizational factors and managemental factors show a statistically significant difference. In addition, organizational and managemental factors have negative effects on Turnover Intention while that of organization factors has a bigger influence. Second, verifying regulation effects of Dual Commitment in regards to the link between QWL and Turnover Intention, it is learned that Dual Commitment (hiring firm) has no regulation effects on the link. However, it does have a regulation effect on the link between QWL (managemental) and Turnover Intention. Moreover, after verifying regulation effects of Dual Commitment (client's firm), it is learned that it has regulation effect on the link between QWL (organizational and managemental) and Trunover Intention. [Practical Implications] In conclusion, lower Turnover Intention, it is necessary to impose tasks that suit the employees' competence and to encourage efficiency throughout clear communications and accurate directions.
