  • The implementation of a common control channel is one of the most challenging issues in cognitive radio networks, since a fully reliable control channel cannot be created without reserving bandwidth specifically for this purpose. In this paper, we investigate a promising solution that exploits the ultra wide band (UWB) technology to let cognitive radio nodes discover each other and exchange control information for establishing a communication link. The contribution of this paper is threefold: (i) We define the communication protocol needed to let cognitive radio nodes discover each other and exchange control information for link set up, (ii) we overcome the gap in coverage, which typically exists between UWB and long-medium range technologies, by using multi-hop communication, (iii) we evaluate the performance of our approach by adopting an accurate channel model and show its benefits with respect to an in-band signaling solution.

  • In The Structure of Empire, Karatani Kojin discovers cosmopolitanism as an element of exchange mode D, and according to this, argues that the World Republic needs to sublate(aufheben) sovereign state and this sublation is to recover Empire at higher dimension from a different way of viewpoint. On the strength of this theoretical advance, Karatani Kojin's exchange mode D can embrace reciprocity of freedom, reciprocity of donation and cosmopolitanism as it's elements. But on the way to the World Republic which Karatani Kojin suggests, there still exists a theoretical missing link. This paper argues the missing link is no more than democracy.

  • Recently, the high performance of tactical situation display console and tactical data links are used to integrate the operational situations in accordance with information age and NCW (Network Centric Warfare). The tendency to maximize the efficiency of task execution has been developed by sharing information and the state of the battle quickly through complex and diverse information exchange. Tactical data link is a communication system that shares the platform with core components of weapons systems and battlefield situation between the command and control systems to perform a Network Centric Warfare and provides a wide range of tactical data required for decision-making and implementation. It provides the tactical information such as tactical information such as operational information, the identification of the peer, and the target location in real time or near real time in the battlefield situation, and it is operated for the exchange of mass tactical information between the intellectuals by providing common situation recognition and cooperation with joint operations. In this study, still image management, audio file management, tactical screen recording and playback using the storage and playback, NITF (National Imagery Transmission Format) message received from the displayer integrates the tactical situation in three dimensions according to multiple data link operation to suggest ways to ensure data integrity between the data link processor during the entire operation time.

  • This paper empirically examines the asymmetric response of the Indonesian Islamic stock market to macroeconomic variables encompassing money supply, domestic output, exchange rate, and Federal Reserve rate. Our study employs the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) after the financial crisis in the Southeast Asian country using monthly data from January 2000 to December 2019. Non-linear Autoregressive Distributed lag (NARDL) is applied. Our study considers two models consisting of the model without the Federal Reserve rate and the model with it. Our findings confirm the long-run link between Jakarta Islamic Index and macroeconomic factors being studied. Furthermore, the Jakarta Islamic Index asymmetrically responds to broad money supply and exchange rate, but not to domestic output and Federal Reserve rate. A reduction in the money supply has a worse effect on Islamic stock prices as compared to an increase in the money supply. The Jakarta Islamic Index responds differently to depreciation and appreciation. The transmission of the exchange rate to Islamic stock prices occurs only for appreciation. Our study finds an absence of transmission mechanism from the domestic output and the interest rate to Islamic stock prices. Our results imply that the easy money policy and stabilizing currency are key to supporting Indonesian Islamic stock prices.

  • The Tactical Data Link System(TDLS) is a standardized communication link to exchange and interface positional, situational information, command and control in real time. It has been evalua ted that the link would play an important role for tactical interoperability, situation awareness, and execution of joint operations in the future war. But considering the rapidly changing war situations, even though being admitted the necessity of the TDLS of Army helicopter, one of superpowers in the Army, it is not yet built the detailed operational concept. Therefore, this work presents how to embody the TDLS through the systems engineering approach based on the TDLS operating concept analysis of helicopters-ground units.

  • A MIMO multi-way relay channel with full data exchange in which K users exchange messages with each other via the help of a single relay is considered. For the case in which each link is quasi-static Rayleigh fading and the relay is full-duplex, the fundamental diversity-multiplexing tradeoff (DMT) is investigated, and we show that a compress-and-forward relay protocol can achieve the optimal DMT.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient flooding process on link-state routing protocol. It is possible to exchange information using typical link-state routing protocol; for example, OSPF(Open Short Path First) or IS-IS(Intermediate system routing protocol) that floods LSA between nodes when the network topology change occurs. However, while the scale of network is getting bigger, it affects the network extensibility because of the unnecessary LSA that causes the increasing utilization of CPU, memory and bandwidth. An existing algorithm based on the Minimum spanning tree has both network instability and inefficient flooding problem. So, we propose algorithm for efficient flooding while maintaining network stability. The simulation results show that the flooding of proposed algorithm is more efficient than existing algorithm.

  • Interoperability has been the problem of CAD/CAM systems. Starting from 1980's, national and international organizations have addressed the issue through development and release of standards for the exchange of geometric and nongeometric design data. To CAD/CAM vendors, the task of interpreting and implementing these standards falls into their products. This task is a balancing action between users' needs, available development resources, and the technical specifications of standards. This paper explores an area of CAD/CAM systems development, particularly the implementation of the effective exchange files translators'. A new approach is introduced, which proposes to enclose all the translation operations concerning each exchange format to a separate DLL, thus making a 'plug-in.' Then, this plug-in could be used together with the CAD/CAM system or with specialized translation software. This approach allows to create new translators rapidly and to gain the reliable, high-efficiency, and reusable program code. The second part of the paper concerns the possible problems of translators' development. These difficulties often come from the exchange standards' misunderstanding or ambiguity in standards. All examples come from the authors' practice experiences of dealing with CAD/CAM systems.

  • The Systems Interoperability Test and Evaluation System(SITES) is an T&E support tool for both information system and weapon system. The SITES was developed by reference to the Level of Information Systems Interoperability(LISI) in US. We use the tool via MND Broad convergence Network(BCN) in order to assess information system's interoperability. Nowadays, there are many ongoing researches on expanding assessment capability into weapon systems. As part of those research topics, this paper analyze the characteristics of tactical data-link messages which is the way to exchange the information among the weapon systems, and reflect that characteristics in interoperability level assessment.

  • The reference model for UNI (User Network Interface) of B-ISDN is consisted of three function groups (B-NTI, B-NT2 and B-TE). In this study, we constructed passive B-NT1 module which can be utilized for optical link management and repair, one of main functions of B-NT1. For the convenience of installation and management, this module is only consisted of passive optical devices. And at a local exchange center linked with the module, the broken zone of optic link is able to be monitored without interrupting services. In addition, we performed the power burget analysis for the design of efficient optic link including this module.
