Ying[M.S. Ying, Linguistic quantifiers modeled by Sugeno integrals, Artificial Intelligence 170(2006) 581-606] studied a framework for modeling quantifiers in natural languages in which each linguistic quantifier is represented by a family of fuzzy measures and the truth value of a quantified proposition is evaluated by using Sugeno integral. In this paper, we consider interval-valued fuzzy measures and interval quantifiers which are the generalized concepts of fuzzy measures and quantifiers, respectively. We also investigate logical properties of a first order language with interval quantifiers modeled by the Sugeno integral with respect to an interval-valued fuzzy measures.

This paper attempts to demonstrate how the linguistic and mythological features of the shamanic language make it incantatory, or ′enchanting′. Passages used in shamanic rites manifest linguistic characteristics that point to their own norms and conventions, as well as some mythological features that contribute to the undecipherablity of the shamanic language. Focusing on the estranged linguistic and mythological features, I propose that shamanic languages can be best interpreted in terms of the linguistic hierarchization, a notion that has been developed since Roman Jakobson′s poetics. The present study adopts Eisele′s framework that reinterprets Jakobsonian hierarchization into a slightly revised notion on the basis of the "degree of combinatorial freedom" and the "degree of semantic immediacy", looking into a set of paradigm examples in search of some parallel structures characterizing the shamanic language. The enchanting effect of this peculiar form of language, it is argued, is due mostly to the frequent use of lexical parallelism, which works in the reverse direction of the normal process of interpretation.

In this paper I am arguing in favour of more vigilance on the part of the Korean linguistics' melieu and, if deemed necessary, a more solid epistemological foundation of the Korean Linguistics. The purpose of this work consist in providing some epistemological inquiry on the major orientations and tendencies which are manifested in the reception of western linguistic theories. I might call this point of view as a critical approach to the philosophy and history of Korean linguistics. In the first section, I gave a short description of the model of the linguistic historiography which can be applied to the history of the Korean linguistics. In the second section, I am concerned with the comparative epistemology of the development of linguistic ideas produced in the West and East. In the final section, I made some critical reflections on the limits of Korean linguistics.

In order to solve the specific problems in system, the implementing of knowledge base suitable to the system architecture has to be expressed and leads to the resoning of the new facts. Not only the simple knowledge based on the bivalent logic but also the representation and acqusition of knowledge related to vague and imprecise linguistic variable is necessary to the knowledge in the real world,i.e the knowledge of which facts and rules are composed. In this point of view, this survey implements the inference and retrieval of the fuzzy linguistic variables so that it can process the ambiguous information which appears the imprecision of the linguistic boundary.

This study used path analysis to investigate the effect of home environment on children's linguistic ability. Participants were 230 4- to 5-year-old kindergarten and child care children and their parents located in D city, Gyeongbuk Province. Instruments were the Children's Linguistic Ability Test (Suk Im Lee, 2006), and questionnaires to measure the physical and literacy environment at home and parents' socio-economic status. Results showed that parents' socio-economic status and application of a literacy environment directly caused children's literacy; physical surroundings and an environment of literacy were variables that effected children's literacy indirectly.

The goal of quantitative linguistics is to show the quantitative behavior of linguistic units. There are several studies which examine the frequency of Korean phonemes, which are important in comprehending the internal function of the linguistic units. However, the frequency information, from the pure phonological level without any consideration of rhythmic group, cannot adequately represent linguistic phenomena. Therefore, to provide the effective information, the phonological transcription must be carried out on the level of rhythmic group. In this paper, we made the transcription to analyze Korean phonology. We were not satisfied with merely investigating the frequencies of the phonemes, but also examined whether the distribution of Korean phonemes show the binomial distribution within linguistic constraints.

Text steganography is one of the most imminent and promising research interests in the information security field. With the unprecedented success of the neural network and natural language processing (NLP), the last years have seen a surge of research on generative linguistic steganography (GLS). This paper provides a thorough and comprehensive review to summarize the existing key contributions, and creates a novel taxonomy for GLS according to NLP techniques and steganographic encoding algorithm, then summarizes the characteristics of generative linguistic steganographic methods properly to analyze the relationship and difference between each type of them. Meanwhile, this paper also comprehensively introduces and analyzes several evaluation metrics to evaluate the performance of GLS from diverse perspective. Finally, this paper concludes the future research work, which is more conducive to the follow-up research and innovation of researchers.

본 연구는 제품조형에 대한 언어적 연구로 디자이너들의 연구사례의 유형을 분석하고자 했다. 특히 제품조형의 언어적 개념을 도구와 사고의 관계에서 언어적 관계성을 통해서 창출하고자 했다. 언어적인 영역과 비 언어적인 영역에서 조형언어의 역할이 어떡해 활동하고 있는지를 분석하였다. 특히 디자인 프로세스상에 형성되는 조형언어의 역하로 조형해석과 조형개념 창출 즉 아이디어 창출에 대한 디자인 프로세스의 관계성을 파악하였다. 이러한 조형언어가 디자인 사적인 측면에서의 기원과 최초 연구가(EnzoMari)의 연구사례를 제시하였다. 또한 디자이너와 디자인 관련 학자들의 조형언어에 대한 관심을 언어적 측면에서의 다양한 요소로 나누어 분류하였다. 또한 이러한 분류과정을 통해서 제품과 관련된 추상적 이론과 시스템적인 연구보다 구체적인 실무의 사례와 개별화된 제품조형언어에 대한 연구의 필요성을 가지고 이러한 측면을 강조하여 상호문화적인 측면에서 개별화된 실제 제품의 조형 언어의 차이와 관심의 차이 그리고 상호공존 할 수 있는 제품조형언어의 개념 창출을 향후 연구과제로 제안한다.

This paper reexamines ideas about linguistic relativity in the light of new interest in the theoretical climate. The original idea is based on the incommensurability of the semantic structures of different languages. On this view, language, thought, culture are deeply interconnected, so that each language might be associated with it a distinctive world view. Throughout this work I utilize the historico-epistemological standpoint to dissect the conceptual structure of this principle. In the introduction I will of for a justification of choice of the theme. Section 1 will address some essential definition of the linguistic principle and insist on the necessity to elaborate a typological spectrum of relativism and universalism. In the second section some important landmarks of linguistic relativity were marked from Plato to Humboldt via Condillac and Herder. 1 will subdivide the relativity hypothesis into 3 theses which are interlated. In the final section the epistemological structure of the linguistic principle will be analysed in some detail by providing my exposition of Sapir-Whorf hypothesis. By way of conclusion I will present the works of Wierzbicka who demonstrated the lexicons of different languages suggest different conceptual universes. By rejecting analytical tools derived from the English language she proposed instead a natural semantic metalanguage based on lexical universals, which is made up of universal semantic primitives. In this paper we attempted to construct a general problematics of linguistic relativity, focolizing on the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis. We devided this very problematic question into its ontological and epistemological dimensions. In particular the ambivalance of Whorf's relativity is discussed in some detail. Also, an archeological survey of this subtle question on the relation between language, thinking and culture was provided. (from Aristotle to Humboldt, via Condillac and Nitzche). In conclusion this investigation underlines the necessity of preparing the cultural linguistics to enlarge the scope of contempory linguistics.

The purpose of this study was (1) to investigate whether linguistic contrast helps children map a new word into a specific semantic domain when a new word is introduced, (2) to examine the existence of a hierarchy of domains into which children will place a new word, (3) to examine whether children's existing lexicons affect how children map a new word. A total of 320 children from 3 to 6 years of age were drawn from Pusan, Korea. The children were divided into one of four age groups. There were 80 children in each age group. In each group, children were randomly assigned to one of four groups; the linguistic contrast group exposed to color, the linguistic contrast group exposed to shape, a label group and control group. All of the children were tested for production and comprehension of the new word. The results of this study were as follows; (1) The linguistic contrast helped children learn the meanings of a new word. Especially, children age 4 or more showed a significant effect for linguistic contrast; however, it was not sufficient to teach 3-year-old the correct, referent of a term. (2) There was a hierarchy of domains into which children mapped a new word. There was no significant effect for domains into which 3-year-old children mapped the new word, but from 4 years of age children showed a preference for assuming a new word refered to an object's shape rather than its color. (3) Children's existing lexicon had no effect, on how children comprehend a new word.
