  • In this paper, we suppose a fuzzy logic controller for cruise control of vehicle. Generally, fuzzy logic controller is known as a controller which can be coped with a non-linear and a complex system. The proposed fuzzy logic controller consists of three input variables; that is, a desired speed, a current vehicle speed, and a current acceleration, and one output variable, throttle angle. The supposed fuzzy logic controller is for engine speed control system is implemented on 80586 microprocessor with DT-2801.

  • Great effort has been exerted to redesign the supply chain network as a means to improve corporate competitiveness. In this study, we present a mathematical model and a solution system to help redesign corporate logistics networks. The objective of the model is to minimize total logistics costs. We applied the solution system to real problem cases. We use the model and the concept to develop decision support system that is based on C++ with the use of CPLEX callable library as a solution engine. We tested and verified the DSS for redesigning the network of a large Korean electronics company. Through various scenario analyses. we recommend to redesign their supply chain network that demonstrates the possibility of substantial logistics cost savings.

Optimum Alignment of Marine Engine Shaftings by the Finite Element Method (有限要素法에 의한 舶用機關軸系裝置의 最適配置에 關한 硏究)

  • The authors have developed a calculating method of propeller shaft alignment by the finite element method. The propeller shaft is divided into finite elements which can be treated as uniform section bars. For each element, the nodal point equation is derived from the stiffness matrix, the external force vector and the section force vector. Then the overall nodal point equation is derived from the element nodal point equation. The deflection, offset, bending moment and shearing force of each nodal point are calculated from the overall nodal point equation by the digital computer. Reactions and deflections of supporting points of straight shaft are calculated and also the reaction influence number is derived. With the reaction influence number the optimum alignment condition that satisfies all conditions is calculated by the simplex method of linear programming. All results of calculation are compared with those of Det norske Veritas, which has developed a computor program based on the three-moment theorem of the strength of materials. The authors finite element method has shown good results and will be used effectively to design the propeller shaft alignment.

  • 중형항공기용 터보팬 엔진의 정상상태 및 천이상태 성능을 해석하고 제어기 설계를 위한 선형모델을 구하였다. 정상상태 성능해석은 설계점으로 선정한 지상정지조건과 최대상승조건(Mach=0.78, 고도=36000ft) 및 순항조건(Mach=0.78, 고도=39000ft)을 고려하였으며, 저압압축기의 공회전 상태에서 최대 회전속도까지의 부분부하성능해석을 수행하였다. 부분부하 성능해석 결과 90% RPM 조건에서 가장 연료소모율이 적어 경제적임을 알 수 있다. 동적 성능모사는 각각의 대기조건에서 연료가 Step 증가, Ramp 증가 및 감소, Step 증가 후 Ramp 감소하는 경우에 대해 수행하였다. 모사결과 고려된 모든 조건에서 연료의 Step 증가시 고압압축기의 터빈입구온도가 제한온도를 초과하여, 보다 빠른 가속과 최적의 성능을 위해서는 적절한 제어가 필요함을 알 수 있었다. 또한 최대상승조건에서 연료를 Step 증가시킬 경우 고압압축기에서 실속이 발생하여 이에 대한 대책도 필요함을 알 수 있었다.

  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) is one of key features on intelligent Transportation System(ITS). In ACC, the steering is done by a driver, but the engine throttle valve and the brake are controlled electronically. The relative velocity and distance from the preceeding vehicle are measured by radars or image processing units and relevant vehicular spacing is maintained in ACC control systems. In this study, vehicle longitudinal dynamics are modeled to simulate vehicle longitudinal maneuver and to design longtitudinal controllers for ACC vehicles. The control algorithm is designed based on the modeled vehicle longitudinal dynamics using a non-linear sliding mode control method. To verity the performance of the control algorithm, a real time numerical simulation program is developed on a Silicon Graphics workstation using C-language . A real time graphic program is alos develpe and integrated with the numerical simulation program.

  • 본 논문은 자유 피스톤 엔진에 적용되는 단상 선형발전기용 전력제어시스템에 관한 연구이다. 자유 피스톤 엔진 선형발전시스템은 피스톤의 움직임을 구속하는 기구가 없기 때문에 기계적 마찰 손실이 적고 상사점 도달 시간이 짧아 에너지 효율측면에서 기존의 피스톤 엔진보다 유리한 기술이다. 하지만, 자유 피스톤 엔진의 경우 초기 기동 할 수 있는 동력원이 필요하며, 단상 선형 발전기의 경우 짧은 스트로크 및 낮은 속도로 인해 인덕턴스가 크게 설계 되어, 높은 인덕턴스로 인한 전류의 위상 지연으로 역률이 낮아지게 되고, 응답성이 떨어지는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 본 논문에서는 역률 보상 및 응답성을 높일 수 있는 자유피스톤 엔진용 단상선형발진기용 전력제어시스템을 제안한다.

Disambiguiation of Qualitative Reasoning with Quantitative Knowledge (정성추론에서의 모호성제거를 위한 양적지식의 활용)

  • After much research on qualitative reasoning, the problem of ambiguities still hampers the practicality of this important AI tool. In this paper, the sources of ambiguities are examined in depth with a systems engineering point of view and possible directions to disambiguation are suggested. This includes some modeling strategies and an architecture of temporal inference for building unambiguous qualitative models of practical complexity. It is argued that knowledge of multiple levels in abstraction hierarchy must be reflected in the modeling to resolve ambiguities by introducing the designer's decisions. The inference engine must be able to integrate two different types of temporal knowledge representation to determine the partial ordering of future events. As an independent quantity management system that supports the suggested modeling approach, LIQUIDS(Linear Quantity-Information Deriving System) is described. The inference scheme can be conjoined with ordinary rule-based reasoning systems and hence generalized into many different domains.

  • 프리피스톤 기관은 크랭크가 없는 엔진을 동력원으로 리니어 발전기를 구동시켜 전기에너지를 생성하는 시스템으로 기존 왕복 구동식 기관에 비해 기계적 손실이 작고, 팽창 에너지를 최대한 활용할 수 있는 고효율 기관으로 평가되고 있다. 또한 프리피스톤 기관은 가솔린, 디젤, 수소, 천연가스와 같은 청정 연료를 사용할 수 있기 때문에, 최근 에너지 수급 문제 및 대체 에너지원으로 활용할 수 있다는 장점을 가지고 있다. 프리피스톤 기관에 적용되는 리니어 발전기의 경우 기존 회전형 발전기보다 효율은 다소 떨어지는 단점은 있으나, 동력 변환을 하지 않는 리니어 엔진에 적용할 경우에는 효율적 이득을 볼 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 리니어 발전기의 성능 측정을 위한 시험 장치를 구성하고, 프리피스톤용 기관에 적용되는 평판형 및 원통형 타입의 리니어 발전기의 손실 및 효율 특성을 비교하였다.

  • This paper describes an implementation of a radiocontrolled airplane attitude control. To obtain the model of motion, stabilizing and control coefficients, we derive the related paramaters from aerodynamics, propulsion, gravity, wind correction and atmosphere. In this model, after separating longitudinal axis and lateral axis, we can get longitudinal axis model and lateral axis model by using actuator and dynamic characteristics of engine. From these two models, we experiment two divided parts-linear part, and nonlinear part.

Experimental Study of the Role of Gas-Liquid Scheme Injector as an Acoustic Resonator in a Combustion Chamber

  • In a liquid rocket engine, the role of gas-liquid scheme injector as an acoustic resonator or absorber is studied experimentally for combustion stability by adopting linear acoustic test. The acoustic-pressure signals or responses from the chamber are monitored by acoustic amplitude. Acoustic behavior in a rocket combustor with a single injector is investigated and the acoustic-damping effect of the injector is evaluated for cold condition by the quantitative parameter of damping factor as a function of injector length. From the experimental data, it is found that the injector can play a significant role in acoustic damping when it is tuned finely. The optimum tuning-length of the injector to maximize the damping capacity is near half of a full wavelength of the first longitudinal overtone mode traveling in the injector with the acoustic frequency intended for damping in the chamber. When the injector has large diameter, the phenomenon of the mode split is observed near the optimum injector length and thereby, the acoustic-damping effect of the tuned injectors can be degraded.
