  • This paper discusses a Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy controller design problem for a phugoid model-based multi-agent system. The error between the state of a phugoid model and a reference is defined to construct a multi-agent system model. A T-S fuzzy model of the multi-agent system is built by introducing a nonlinear controller. A fuzzy controller is then designed to stabilize the T-S fuzzy model, where the synthesis condition is represented in terms of linear matrix inequalities.

  • In this paper, the linearly interpolated PRC(Pseudo Range Correction) regenerating algorithm was applied to improve the DGPS(Differential Global Positioning System) positioning accuracy at user's spot by using the various PRC information obtained from multi-DGPS reference stations. The PRC information of each GPS satellite is not varying rapidly; it is possible to assume that the variation of PRC information of each GPS satellite is linear. So the linearly interpolated PRC regenerating algorithm can be applied to improve the DGPS positioning accuracy at user's spot by using the various PRC information obtained from multi-DGPS reference stations. To test the performance of the linearly interpolated PRC regenerating algorithm, maritime DGPS reference stations' PRC data was used in RTCM format. 11 maritime DGPS reference stations are in service providing DGPS information to public since 1999. Two set of 3 DGPS reference stations are selected to compare the performance of the linearly interpolated PRC regenerating algorithm. The DGPS positioning accuracy was dramatically improved about 40%. Linearly interpolated PRC regenerating algorithm adopted multi-channel DGPS receiver will be developed in near future.

  • This paper presents a model predictive control for shunt active power filters in synchronous reference frame using space vector pulse-width modulation (SVPWM). The three phase load currents are transformed into synchronous rotating reference frame in order to reduce the order of the control system. The proposed current controller calculates reference current command for harmonic current components in synchronous frame. The fundamental load current components are transformed into dc components revealing only the harmonics. The predictive current controller will add robustness and fast compensation to generate commands to the SVPWM which minimizes switching frequency while maintaining fast harmonic compensation. By using the model predictive control, the optimal switching state to be applied to the next sampling time is selected. The filter current contains only the harmonic components, which are the reference compensating currents. In this method the supply current will be equal to the fundamental component of load current and a part of the current at fundamental frequency for losses of the inverter. Mathematical analysis and the feasibility of the suggested approach are verified through simulation results under steady state and transient conditions for non-linear load. The effectiveness of the proposed controller is confirmed through experimental validation.

  • This paper presents a decentralized control scheme for interconnected systems with unmodeled nonlinearities and interactions using a neural coordinator. The interactions due to the interconnection and the unmodeled nonlinearity associated with each subsystem are represented by the deviations from linearized states of decomposed subsystems. the decentralized controller is composed of local controllers and a neural coordinator. The local controller for each subsystem is derived from linearized local system parameters y linear optimal control theory. the neural cooridnator generates a corrective control signal to cancel the effect of deviation sthrough the backpropagation learning with the rrors obtained form the difference of the local system outputs and reference model outputs. the reference model consists of the part of local system without deviations. The effectiveness of the proposed control scheme is demonstrated by simulation studies.

  • We present one-color nonlinear wavepacket interferometry (WPI) signal calculations for a system of two electronic levels and one vibrational degree of freedom. We consider two cases, a displaced harmonic oscillator system, which can be treated analytically, and a model photodissociative system, whose WPI signal must be calculated by numerical wavepacket propagation. We show how signals obtained with different combinations of intrapulse-pair phase shifts can be combined to isolate the complex-valued overlap between a given onepulse target wavepacket and a variable three-pulse reference wavepacket. We demonstrate that with a range of inter- and intrapulse-pair delays the complex overlaps and variable reference states can be used to reconstruct the target wavepacket. We compare our results with previous methods for vibronic state reconstruction based on linear WPI and discuss further generalizations of our method.

  • In this paper, we develop the system which inspects the metal mask using area scan camera and belu type xy-table and introduce its inspection algorithm. Thes whole area of the metal mask is divides into several inspection block and the sixe of a inspection block is decided by FOV(Field of View). To compare with the camera image of each block, the reference image is made by gerber file. The ratation angle of the metal mask is calculated through the linear equation that is substituted two end points of horizontal boundary of a specific hole in a camera image for. To calculate the position error caused by belt type xy-table, hough-transform using the distances among the holes in two images os used. The center of the reference image is moved as much as the calculated position error to be coincide with the camera image ...

  • This paper proposes a nonlinear adaptive controller based on back-stepping method for tracking reference substrate concentration by manipulating dilution rate in a continuous baker's yeast cultivating process in stirred tank bioreactor. Control law is obtained from Lyapunov control function to ensure asymptotical stability of the system. The Haldane model for the specific growth rate depending on only substrate concentration is used in this paper. Due to the uncertainty of specific growth rate, it has been modified as a function including the unknown parameter with known bounded values. The substrate concentration in the bioreactor and feed line are measured. The deviation from the reference is observed when the external disturbance such as the change of the feed is introduced to the system. The effectiveness of the proposed controller is shown through simulation results in continuous system.

  • In this paper, we suggest a design scheme of receding horizon predictive control(RHPC) for boiler-turbine systems whose dynamics are given in nonlinear equations. RHPC is designed for linear state space models which are obtained at a nominal operating point of the boiler-turbine system. In this consideration, the boiler is operated in a sliding pressure mode, in which the reference value of drum pressure is changing according to the electrical power generation. The reference values of the system outputs are prefiltered before they are fed to the RHPC in order to compensate the linearization errors. Simulation results show that the proposed controller provides acceptable performances in both of the cases of 'steep and small changes' and 'slow and large changes' of power demand and yields the effect of modest coordination of conventional PID schemes such as boiler-following and turbine-following control.

  • Electro-hydraulic servo motor is used to a lot of in the field of industrial equipment which requires one of the control functions among pressure, flow, and power output. In this paper, linear discrete reference model of the electro-hydraulic servo motor system are made for 1-step ahead predictive control. The parameters of electro-hydraulic servo motor system are estimated using the recursive least square method. 1-step ahead predictive model output of electro-hydraulic servo motor system corresponded to reference model output in spite of estimated parameters are not meet real parameters. Control performance affections are studied due to the forgetting factors variation.

  • This paper deals with a robust controller for an induction motor (IM) which is represented as a linear parameter varying systems. To do so linear matrix inequality (LMI) based approach and robust Lyapunov feedback are associated. This approach is related to the fact that the synthesis of a linear parameter varying (LPV) feedback controller for the inner loop take into account rotor resistance and mechanical speed as varying parameter. An LPV flux observer is also synthesized to estimate rotor flux providing reference to cited above regulator. The induction motor is described as a polytopic LPV system because of speed and rotor resistance affine dependence. Their values can be estimated on line during systems operations. The simulation and experimental results largely confirm the effectiveness of the proposed control.
