  • This paper studies on the feedback linearization of the looper system for hot strip mills, where the looper system plays an important role in regulating the strip tension. Firstly, nonlinear dynamic equations of the looper system are simply introduced. Secondly, using the static feedback linearization algorithm, a linear model of the looper system is obtained, of which usefulness is validated from comparison between the linear model and the nonlinear model, and design of LQI(Linear Ouadratic Integral optimal control) and ILQ (Inverse Linear Quadratic optimal control) looper control systems. In result, it is shown that the linear looper model by the feedback linearization well describes nonlin...

  • This paper studies on the linearization of a looper system in hot strip mills, that plays an important role in regulating a strip tension or a strip width. Nonlinear dynamic equations of the looper system are analytically linearized by a static feedback linearization algorithm with a compensator. The proposed linear model of the looper is validated by a comparison with a linear model using Taylor's series. It is shown that the linear model by static feedback well describes nonlinearities of the looper system than one using Taylor's series. Furthermore, it is shown from the design of an ILQ controller that the linear model by static feedback is very useful in designing a linear controller of the looper system.

  • For feedback control of a linear dynamic system the optimum linear slace regulator (OLSR) can be implemented only if all state are available for feedback. This work demonstrates that when only the output state is available for feedback, a nonlinear controllers can be improved performance over that obtained by a proportional controller. This paper found the optimal control law by well-known dynamic programming and principles of optimality. Thus, performance of both proportional and nonlinear controllers is compared with performance of optimum linear state regulator.

  • In this paper, it is clearly shown that the two well-known necessary and sufficient conditions mp n as generic static output feedback pole-assignment and mp + d(m+p) n+d as generic minimum d-th order dynamic output feedback pole-assignment on complex field, unbelievably, do not match up each other in strictly proper linear systems. For the analysis, a diagram analysis is newly created (which is defined by the analysis of 'convoluted rectangular/dot diagrams' constructed via node-branch conversion of the signal flow graphs of output feedback gain loops). Under this diagram analysis, it is proved that the minimum d-th order dynamic output feedback compensator for pole-assignment in m-input, p-output, n-th order systems is quantitatively decomposed into static output feedback compensator and its associated d number of arbitrary 1st order dynamic elements in augmented (m+d)-input, (p+d)-output, (n+d)-th order systems. Total configuration of the mismatched data is presented in a Table.

  • In this paper feedback linearization of valve-controlled nonlinear hydraulic velocity control system is studied. The $C^{\infty}$ nonlinear transformation T is obtained, and it is shown that this transformation is global one. Linear equivalence of nonlinear hydraulic velocity control system is obtained by this global nonlinear transformation, and linear state feedback control law is applied to this linear model. It is shown that this transformation method is to the linear approximation by simulation study..

  • This paper deals with an output feedback H control problem for linear time ivariant systems with state delay. The proposed output feedback controller is represented by the lower linear fractional transformation of alinear time invariant system and a delay operator. Sufficient conditions for the existence of the output feedback controller are given in the form of linear matrix inequalities which are less conservative than those for the existence of a rational output feedback controler. We also present a numerical example to demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed method.of the proposed method.

  • We consider the problem of designing a static output feedback sliding mode control law for linear dynamical systems with mismatched uncertainties in the state matrix. We assume that an output dependent sliding surface guaranteeing the quadratic stability of the sliding mode dynamics is given, the reachability condition is not required to be satisfied globally, and the output feedback sliding mode control law complises both linear and discontinuous parts. We reduce the problem of designing the linear part of the sliding mode control law to a simple LMI problem which offers design flexibility for combining various useful convex design specifications. Our approach does not require state transformation and it can be applied to mismatched uncertain systems.

  • In this study, the ultimate goal is to acquire stability when turning around efficiently by using the controller which is applied partial feedback linearization of One-wheel Unicycle Robot. When moving around, linear controller could result in unstable factor according to widening operation range. So in order to reduce instability, 1 have developed Non-linear Controller using Partial Feedback Linearization. Compared with linear controller, Non-linear Controller guarantees the superiority of Regulating Control and Tracking Control in direct and also revolution motion of Robot. I'm sure of the Non-linear controller performance through many experiments.

  • In this paper, active noise control (ANC) of a Volterra system with a nonlinear secondary path is proposed in the presence of a linear acoustic feedback, whereby the conventional ANC of a linear system with online acoustic feedback-path modeling is further extended to ANC of a Volterra system with a linear acoustic feedback path. In particular, the proposed ANC system consists of two adaptive Volterra filters (for nonlinear noise control and nonlinear adaptive noise cancellation) and one feedback-path modeling filter. Simulation results show that the proposed approach yields more effective reduction of disturbances arising from the acoustic feedback, in addition to high nonlinear ANC performance.
