  • An intuitive understanding of the dynamic pattern generation in asymmetric networks may be considered an essential component in developing models for the dynamic information processing. It has been reported that the neural network with cyclic connections generates multiple limit cycles. The dynamics of discrete time network with cyclic connections has been investigated intensively. However, the dynamics of a cyclic connection neural network in continuous-time has not been well-known due to the considerable complexity involved in its calculation. In this paper, the dynamic behavior of a continuous-time cyclic connection neural network, in which each neuron is connected only to its nearest neurons with binary synaptic weights of ${\pm}1$, has been investigated. Furthermore, the dynamics and stability of the network have been analyzed using a piece-wise linear approximation.

  • A number of factors combine to make ultraviolet radiation a superior means of water purification for ground water, rainwater harvesting systems and so on. Ultraviolet radiation is capable of destroying all types of bacteria. Additionally, ultraviolet radiation disinfects rapidly without the use of heat or chemical additives which may undesirably alter the composition of water. In a typical operation, water enters the inlet of a UV lamp and flows through the annular space between the quartz sleeve and the outside chamber wall. The irradiated water leaves through the outlet nozzle. Several design features are combined to determine the dosage delivered. The first is Wavelength output of the lamp, the Second is Length of the lamp - when the lamp is mounted parallel to the direction of water flow, the exposure time is proportional to the length of the lamp, the third is Design water flow rate - exposure time is inversely related to the linear flow rate, the forth is Diameter of the purification chamber - since the water itself absorbs UV energy, the delivered dosage diminishes logarithmically with the distance from the lamp. In this paper, It describe the how to design optimal UV disinfection device for ground water and rainwater. To search the optimal design method, it was performed computer simulation with 3D-CFD discrete ordinates model and manufactured prototype. Using proposed design method manufactured prototype applied to disinfection test and proved satisfied performance.

  • Vehicle systems are frequently exposed to parameter uncertainties such as vehicle speed and height of center of gravity. If a controller is designed to be robust against these parameter uncertainties, the rollover prevention capability can be considerably enhanced. In this study, robust controllers $H_2$ and $H_{\infty}$ are designed by using LMI for vehicle rollover prevention control in the discrete time domain. Some simulations using CarSim, a reliable simulation tool, are performed to validate the proposed controllers.

  • The main objective of this paper is to propose a new stability analysis method for a networked control system with multiple packet transmission. The new scheduling method that can guarantee the maximum time delay and discrete switch state equation model which represent a network data loss is proposed. The equivalent model of a MIMO(multi-input multi-output) networked control system is derived from a state space model of linear time invariant interconnected systems in the form of asynchronous dynamical system. Using this model, this paper presents new stability theorems that can determine stability of the networked control system with regard to time delay, data loss, and the number of transmission packets. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of proposed stability analysis method.

  • A recursive algorithms for prediction of streamflows by Kalman filtering theory and Self-tuning predictor based on the state space description of the dynamic systems have been studied and the applicabilities of the algorithms to the rainfall-runoff processes have been investigated. For the representation of the dynamics of the processes, a low-order ARMA process has been taken as the linear discrete time system with white Gaussian disturbances. The state vector in the prediction model formulated by a random walk process. The model structures have been determined by a statistical analysis for residuals of the observed and predicted streamflows. For the verification of the prediction algorithms developed here, the observed historical data of the hourly rainfall and streamflows were used. The numerical studies shows that Kalman filtering theory has better performance than the Self-tuning predictor for system identification and prediction in rainfall-runoff processes.

  • In this paper, the adaptive fuzzy sliding mode controller with two systems is designed. The existing sliding mode controller used to $approximation{\^{u}}(t)$ with discrete sgn function and sat function for keeping the state trajectories on the sliding surface[1]. The proposed controller decrease the disturbance for uncertain control gain and This paper is concerned with an Adaptive Fuzzy Sliding Mode Control(AFSMC) that the fuzzy systems ate used to approximate the unknown functions of nonlinear system. In the adaptive fuzzy system, we adopt the adaptive law to approximate the dynamics of the nonlinear plant and to adjust the parameters of AFSMC. The stability of the suggested control system is proved via Lyapunov stability theorem, and convergence and robustness properties ate demonstrated. Futhermore, fuzzy tuning improve tracking abilities by changing some sliding conditions. In the traditional sliding mode control, ${\eta}$ is a positive constant. The increase of ${\eta}$ has led to a significant decrease in the rise time. However, this has resulted in higher overshoot. Therefore the proposed ${\eta}$ tuning AFSMC improve the performances, so that the controller can track the trajectories faster and more exactly than ordinary controller. The simulation results demonstrate that the performance is improved and the system also exhibits stability.

  • This paper studies the particularities of the forced vibration of the hydro-elastic system consisting of a moving elastic plate, compressible viscous fluid and rigid wall. This study is made by employing the discrete-analytical solution method proposed in the paper by the authors (Akbarov and Panakhli (2015)). It is assumed that in the initial state the fluid flow is caused by the axial movement of the plate and the additional lineally-located time-harmonic forces act on the plate and these forces cause additional flow field in the fluid and a stress-strain state in the plate. The stress-strain state in the plate is described by utilizing the exact equations and relations of the linear elastodynamics. However, the additional fluid flow field is described with linearized Navier-Stokes equations for a compressible viscous fluid. Numerical results related to the influence of the problem parameters on the frequency response of the normal stress acting on the plate fluid interface plane and fluid flow velocity on this plane are presented and discussed. In this discussion, attention is focused on the influence of the initial plate axial moving velocity on these responses. At the same, it is established that as a result of the plate moving a resonance type of phenomenon can take place under forced vibration of the system. Moreover, numerical results regarding the influence of the fluid compressibility on these responses are also presented and discussed.

  • In this paper, an A-team(Asynchronous Team ) based approach for Reactive power and volage control considering static security assessment in a power system with infrastructural deficiencies is proposed. Reactive power and voltage control problem is the one of optimally establishing voltage level given several constraints such as reactive generation, voltage magnitude, line flow, and other switchable reactive power sources. It can be formulated as a mixed-integer linear programming(MILP) problem without deteriorating of solution accuracy to a certain extent. The security assessment is to estimate the relative robustness of the system in Its present state through the evaluation of data provided by security monitoring. Deterministic approach based on AC load flow calculations is adopted to assess the system security, especially voltage security. A security metric, as a standard of measurement for power system security, producting a set of discrete values rather than binary values, is employed. In order to analyze the above two problems, reactive power/voltage control problem and static security assessment problem, in an integrated fashion for real-time operations, a new organizational structure, called an A-team, is adopted. An A-team is an organization for agents which ale all autonomeus, work in parallel and communicate asynchronously, which is well-suited to the development of computer-based, multi-agent systems for operations. This A-team based approach, although it is still in the beginning stage, also has potential for handling other difficult power system problems.
