Approaches to several recent issues in the operation of nuclear power plants using computational intelligence are discussed. These issues include 1) noise analysis techniques, 2) on-line monitoring and sensor validation, 3) regularization of ill-posed surveillance and diagnostic measurements, 4) transient identification, 5) artificial intelligence-based core monitoring and diagnostic system, 6) continuous efficiency improvement of nuclear power plants, and 7) autonomous anticipatory control and intelligent-agents. Several changes to the focus of Computational Intelligence in Nuclear Engineering have occurred in the past few years. With earlier activities focusing on the development of condition monitoring and diagnostic techniques for current nuclear power plants, recent activities have focused on the implementation of those methods and the development of methods for next generation plants and space reactors. These advanced techniques are expected to become increasingly important as current generation nuclear power plants have their licenses extended to 60 years and next generation reactors are being designed to operate for extended fuel cycles (up to 25 years), with less operator oversight, and especially for nuclear plants operating in severe environments such as space or ice-bound locations.

This study suggested practical application of decision aid tool on re-evaluation of current buildings with a focus on a energy and economics evaluation methodology. In Europe, over forty percent of all construction activities are for retrofit. For efficient construction, various tools for re-evaluating existing buildings have been developed and are in use. Legislations of relevant laws and studies are actively initiated. In particular, EPIQR (Energy Performance Indoor environment Quality Retrofit), which was developed through the EU's Third and Fourth Framework Programs laid a foundation on a new concept-based decision aid tool for re-evaluation of existing buildings. As for actual applications, based on this, EPIQR+ was developed to be in line with a building maintenance guideline (SIA 469) and is actively applied to public buildings. This tool quantifies the degree of damages of existing buildings and suggests alternatives to users in energy (SIA 380/1) and economical perspectives. This study examined these preceding tools and suggested some trenchant approaching for more comprehensive and efficient use of re-evaluation tools in building maintenance.

This paper deals with the exchange of tourists and the operation of sightseeing train encouraged by the inter- Korean cross-border railway project. First of all, how the inter-Korean cross-border railway project has developed will be discussed. After this, tile present tourism state, facilities, the state of railways and roads of North Korea, and major tourist attraction around the Kyonguisun will be shown. And then, several aspects on the agreements between the Korean National Railroad (KORAIL) and North Korean railroad system will be summarized. And, finally, the economic effect of the line including the operation schedule of the Kyonguisun sightseeing train, the demand forecast, the computation of railway fare, and profit sharing will be depicted.

단방향 전력망에 정보통신 기술을 접목하여 전력공급자와 소비자가 양방향 실시간 정보를 교환함으로서 에너지 효율을 최적화하는 스마트 그리드의 핵심인 지능형 원격검침 시스템에 대한 연구개발 및 사업화가 전 세계 전력 회사별로 활발히 진행 중에 있다. 본 논문에서는 KEPCO가 대규모 사업화를 추진 중에 있는 지능형 원격검침 시스템의 구성도, 설계된 핵심 단말 및 주요 기능, 관련 통신 기술 및 부가 서비스를 소개하고 기술적 특성과 사업 방향성을 제시하고자 한다.

최근, 버스 수송 분담률을 개선하기 위한 일환으로 승객에게 실시간으로 버스 운행정보를 제공할 수 있는 버스 정보 시스템(BIS : Bus Information System)에 관심이 집중됨으로서 버스 정보 체계에 대한 연구 필요성이 크게 제기되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이러한 추세에 대응하여 기존의 버스 정보 체계를 분석하고, 그 결과를 바탕으로 보다 실제적인 버스정보체계에 근접하도록 확장된 지그비 통신을 기반으로 하는 실험적 버스정보체계와 데이터 처리절차를 설계한다.

이 연구는 "모차르트 이펙트"를 통해 밝혀진 모차르트 음악이 지능향상에 효과가 있다는 연구결과와 비교하여 온라인 게임 이용자의 게임 후 시 공간 능력에 어떤 영향이 나타나는지 알아보고자 한다. 10대 후반에서 20대 초반의 대학생을 대상으로 한 이번 연구에서 게임 이용 시 시공간 인지 능력의 차이는 공간 인지 능력의 차이에서 두드러지는 것으로 나타났다. 음악, 애니메이션, 온라인 게임(카트라이더)을 이용한 세 집단의 공간인지 능력의 차이를 분석한 결과, 온라인게임을 선호하는 집단이 '모양맞추기' 점수가 높아 온라인게임 이용이 이용자의 시 공간 능력 향상에 도움이 된다는 연구결과를 도출하였다.

In the contemporary, all social shifts as well as the fields of design have been changed much faster than past. And continually it will be changed in the future. In this situation, futuristic design will be much more important paradigm than now. Emotion and digital can be key issues in the futuristic design paradigms. Karim Rashid is one of most famous futuristic designers, and all his works are expressed emotion and digital. Also he uses various factors to express futurism such as curved line, futuristic colors, special materials, and so on. In the future, we will live in the emotion and digital culture age. According to social shifts, our life should be change with Futurism. Therefore his role will be more important, and he has to consider relationship between men and their surroundings as he designs all his work's range, specially housing design.

Performance management of computer networks is intended to improve a given network performance in order for more efficient information exchange between subsystems of an integrated large-scale system. Importance of perfomance management is growing as many functions of the large- scale system depend on the quality of communication services provided by the network. The role of performance management is to manipulate the adjustable protocol parameters on line so that the network can adapt itself to a dynamic environment. This can be divided into two subtasks : performance evaluation to find how changes in protocol parameters affect the network performance and decision making to determine the magnitude and direction of parameter adjustment. This paper is the first part of the two papers focusing on conceptual design, development, and evaluation of performance management for token bus networks. This paper specifically deals with the task of performance evaluation which utilizes the principle of perturbation analysis of discrete event dynamic systems. The developed algorithm can estimate the network performance under a perturbed protocol parameter setting from observations of the network operations under a nominal parameter setting.

Presently, the policy base of our government focusing on the privatization of public corporation with the transfer of political power, KORAIL, one of public corporation, also can not be free from there. the policy line of our government to privatize KORAIL following the developed countries' precedent has been advocated repeatedly already since the 1990's. whenever it happened, it was true that government as well as KORAIL researched on the success or failure case of privatization in developed countries, but considering lessened pressure to the public corporation during Nor's administration, I researched on the privatization of overseas' railways to remind you of what is advantage or disadvantage. In this research, treated Japan's case which is considered one of most successful privatization story in several cases. with the result of this research, which is expected to be utilized setting the policy of privatization direction, if KORAIL tried to be privatized once again.

The anti proliferative effects of bile acids and their derivatives on HT -29 human colon cancer cells were investigated. Ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) and its synthetic derivatives, HS-1030 and HS-1183, and chenodeoxycholic acid (CDCA) and its synthetic derivatives, HS-1199 and HS-1200 were employed for this study. General evaluations focusing on cell cycle were conducted in HT -29 human colon adenocarcinoma cell line (p53 mutant type). (omitted)
