We use dense redshift surveys of nine galaxy clusters at z ~ 0.2 to compare the galaxy distribution in each system with the projected matter distribution from weak lensing. By combining 2087 new MMT/Hectospec redshifts and the data in the literature, we construct spectroscopic samples within the region of weak-lensing maps of high (70-89%) and uniform completeness. With these dense redshift surveys, we construct galaxy number density maps using several galaxy subsamples. The shape of the main cluster concentration in the weak-lensing maps is similar to the global morphology of the number density maps based on cluster members alone, mainly dominated by red members. We cross correlate the galaxy number density maps with the weak-lensing maps. The cross correlation signal when we include foreground and background galaxies at 0.5zcl < z < 2 zcl is 10 - 23% larger than for cluster members alone at the cluster virial radius. The excess can be as high as 30% depending on the cluster. Cross correlating the galaxy number density and weak-lensing maps suggests that superimposed structures close to the cluster in redshift space contribute more significantly to the excess cross correlation signal than unrelated large-scale structure along the line of sight. Interestingly, the weak-lensing mass profiles are not well constrained for the clusters with the largest cross correlation signal excesses (>20% for A383, A689 and A750). The fractional excess in the cross correlation signal including foreground and background structures could be a useful proxy for assessing the reliability of weak-lensing cluster mass estimates.
Using the latest cosmological hydrodynamic N-body simulations of groups and clusters, we study how location in phase-space coordinates at z = 0 can provide information on environmental effects acting in clusters. We confirm the results of previous authors showing that galaxies tend to follow a typical path in phase-space as they settle into the cluster potential. As such, different regions of phase-space can be associated with different times since first infalling into the cluster. However, in addition, we see a clear trend between total mass loss due to cluster tides and time since infall. Thus, we find location in phase-space provides information on both infall time and tidal mass loss. We find the predictive power of phase-space diagrams remains even when projected quantities are used (i.e.,line of sight velocities, and projected distances from the cluster). We provide figures that can be directly compared with observed samples of cluster galaxies and we also provide the data used to make them as supplementary data to encourage the use of phase-space diagrams as a tool to understand cluster environmental effects. We find that our results depend very weakly on galaxy mass or host mass, so the predictions in our phase-space diagrams can be applied to groups or clusters alike, or to galaxy populations from dwarfs up to giants.
An online scaling method adds new nodes to the shared-nothing database cluster and makes tables be reorganized while the system is running. The objective is to share the workload with many nodes and increase the capacity of cluster systems. The existing online scaling method, however, has two problems. One is the degradation of response time and transactions throughput due to the additional overheads of data transfer and replica's condidtency. The other is and inefficient recovery mechanism in which the overall scaling transaction is aborted by a fault. These problems deteriorate the availability of shared-nothing database cluster. To avoid the additional overheads throughout the scaling period, our scalingmethod consists of twophases : a parallel data transfer phase and a combination phase. The parallel data transferred datausing reduces the size of data transfer by dividing the data into the number of replicas. The combination phase combines the transferred datausing resources of spare nodes. Also, our method reduces the possibility of failure throughout the scaling period and improves the availability of the database cluster.
A new method for on-line induction motor fault detection is presented in this paper. This system utilizes unsupervised-learning clustering algorithm, the Dignet, proposed by Thomopoulos etc., to learn the spectral characteristics of a good motor operating on-line. After a sufficient training period, the Dignet signals one-phase ground fault, or a potential failure condition when a new cluster is formed and persists for some time. Since a fault condition is found by comparison to a prior condition of the machine, on-line failure prediction is possible with this system without requiring information on the motor of load characteristics.

In this paepr, Fuzzy Constraint Line Clustering (FCLC) method for optical flow estimation is proposed. FCLC represents the spatical and temporal gradients as fuzzy sets. Based on these sets, several constraint lines with different membership values are generated for the poxed whose velocity is to be estimated. We describe the process for obtaining the membership values of the spatial and temporal gradients and that of the corresponding constraint line. We also show the process for deciding the tightest cluster of point formalated by intersection between constraint lines. For the synthetic and real images, the results of FCLC are compared with of CLC.
A major difference between on-line services and off-line services is in the quality of the service they provide. On-line services lack of dynamic interface between customers and service providers. Traditional studies on personalizing web services do not consider the intimacy level of customers to web services. This study suggests a web personalizing method to satisfy customers in on-line using intimacy theory, cluster analysis, and data mining. The goal of this study is to support customers in web with more intimate service. It also offers improved services to customers by personalizing web services dynamically.
Clothing shape is principally described in seven factors that are composed of clothing design, clothing material, clothing size, pattern design, sewing method and body motion etc. The aims of this study was to measurement out-line space-shape variation of clothing fitness with body by using the image processing. The subjects for direct anthropometric measurements were 248 female college students aged from 19 to 22. The data were statistically analyzed by principal analysis and cluster analysis. The results selected one somatotype. for the out-line space-shape variation of clothing fitness with body, there dimensional clothing shapes measured. and cross-sectional clothing shape obtained by the measurement was considered to be space wave form. The out-line space-shape variation of clothing fitness with body was observed between the node number and amplitudes of clothing wave form, and node number was determined at the maxim of space-shape amplitude, and the space-shape amplitudes have related with aspect ratio of cross-sectional shape. The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of animation cluster in Chuncheon. It has been over 10 years since Chuncheon was designated as the cluster raising the animation industry. The Chuncheon cluster is trying to differentiate through managing several unique strategies. In order to realize the micro-regionalism, it focuses on co-production not with domestic companies but with foreign companies. Especially, for establishing the whole concrete production pipe-line, it concerns to make co-production contracts dealing with not only for the main production part but also pre- and post-production parts. Based on these production experience, it is building the production complex in the name of ICT convergence cluster. The changed role of the policy-management organization(Gangwon Information & Multimedia Corporation, GIMC) enables these differentiated strategies by itself. The establishment of the Asian Animation Round(AAR) is recognized as the characteristic of macro-regionalism. Starting from the year of 2006, the AAR tries to place Chuncheon as the hub of animation production in Asia and focuses on constructing the network of animation production countries that have developed their production capabilities through sub-contracts. This type of production and market bloc has not been made before.
Life-style factors often include social relationships as well as consumption, entertainment and dress patterns. They also typically reflect an individual's attitudes, values and worldview. Life-style types have become and an important factor for segmenting customer markets ever since significant relationships between life-style and customers' behavior was proven. This study examined the relationships between the life-styles of young customers' and the important attributes of foodservice encounters. Factors analysis with VARIMAX and K-means cluster analysis were conducted to group the subjects by life-style. According to the factors analysis, four underlying dimensions were identified and labeled: (1) 'actively fashioned', (2) 'luxury picky', (3) 'healthy toward', and (4) 'utilitarian leisure'. Based on the factor scores derived from the factors analysis, the K-means cluster analysis classified three groups as statistically significant using ANOVA(p<0.05). The overall mean score for the 3rd cluster 'trendy-active picky' was higher than the other two clusters, and represented very picky attitudes about foodservice attributes. The 3rd cluster also seemed to apply higher standards to all of the foodservice attributes. By order of importance, the most important attributes of the 2nd cluster 'pursue-utilitarian leisure' were food serving time, automation systems, server's hygienes, employee kindness, time in line, and menu variety. In spite of low concerns for the life-style attributes, the first cluster 'passively indifferent' recognized menu variety, food sanitation, food serving time, server's hygiene, menu price, air circulation, and room temperature as important. These results suggest that young diners in Korea could be classified by their diverse life-styles that are represented as trendy, utilitarian, and indifferent and will hopefully contribute to the foodservice industry's ability to segment customer characteristics by different life-styles in Korea.
The purpose of this study were to 1) identify types and levels of production environments, 2) classify apparel manufacturers based on production environments and 3) investigate relationship between characteristics of apparel manufacturers and production environment. Apparel manufacturer's characteristics included product line and the number of employees. For this study, the questionnaires were administered to 215 apparel manufacturers in seoul and Kyung-gi region from Feb. to Mar. 1998. Employing a sample of 201, data were analyzed by factor analysis, descriptive statistics, cluster analysis, cluster analysis, discriminant Analysis, and multivariate analysis of variance. The following are the results of this study : 1. The production environment was identified as three types such as complexity of product environment, uncertainty of demand/supply environment and uncertainty of worker environment. 2. Based on three types of the production environment, apparel manufacturers were classified into stable group, uncertain group and complicated group. 3. With respect to product line, men's wear manufacturers were lied the most high complexity of product environment, casual wear and knit wear were lied the most frequently uncertainty of worker environment. With respect to the number employees, apparel manufacturers comprising 50∼99 employees were lied the most high complexity of product environment, while those comprising 100∼299 employees the most high demand/supply environment.
