SPS(Spark Plasma Sintering ) is known to be an excellent sintering method for porous materials. In the present work an attempt has been made of fabricating porous 316L Stainless steel with good mechanical properties by using controlled SPS process Porosity was 21%~53% at sintering temperature of $600^{\circ}C$~100$0^{\circ}C$ The limit of porosity with available mechanical strength was 30% at given experimental conditions. Porosity can be controlled by manipulating the intial height of the compact by means of the supporter and punch length. The applied pressure can be exerted entirely upon the supporter, giving no influence on the specimen. The specimen is then able to be sintered pressurelessly. In this case porosity could be controlled from 38 to 45% with good mechanical strength at sintering temperature of 90$0^{\circ}C$. As the holding time increased, neck between the particles grew progressively, but shrinkage of the specimen did not occur, implying that the porosity remained constant during the whole sintering process.

Ejectors, having no moving, lubricating and leaking parats, are widely used as marine pumps because of its high working confidence. For instance, uses in ships are stripping in crude oil tank, bilge discharge in engine room, ballast water pumping on are carrier, and brine discharge from fresh water generator. And it is also used as cooling water recirculating pump in boiling water type nuclear reactor and deep-well pump. It is not easy to determine the optimal dimension for designing each ejector agreed with its suggested performance condition, because complicated calculations must be repeated to obtain the maximum efficiency affected by flowrate ratio, head ratio, area ratio and so on. Therefore, it is considered that the CAD (Computer-Aided Design) for ejector is a powerful method for design according to the individual design condition. In this paper, a computer program for water ejector design is developed based on the previous paper on theoretical analysis and experimental results for water ejector. And from the theoretical approach, an equation for the working limit and an equation for determing the shape of throat are obtained. The validity of the present computer program is sufficiently confirmed through the comparison of the computed results with the main dimension of the previous manufactured water ejector. This program will be easily developed as the CAD for various kinds of ejectors, including steam ejector.
Differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) using nafion-coated glassy carbon electrodes modified with Tetren(tetraethylene pentamine)-glycerol showed sensitivity for determining lead (II) at low concentration. The Lead (II) was accumulated on the electrode surface by the formation of the complex in an open circuit, and the resulting surface was characterized by medium exchange, electrochemical reduction, and differential pulse voltammetry. Various experimental parameters, such as the composition of modifier, preconcentration time, pH of electrolyte (0.1 M acetate buffer), and parameters of differential pulse voltammetry, were optimized. The initial potential was applied for 50 s, the electrode was scanned from -0.9 to -0.3 V, and the anodic peak current was measured at -0.604 V $\pm$ 0.015 V (vs. Ag/AgCl). The calibration plot was obtained in the range 1.0$\times$10$^{-8}$ M~l.0$\times$10$^{-6}$ M with pH 4.5 buffer solution. The detection limit (3$\sigma$) it as low as 5.0$\times$ 10$^{-9}$ M. This method is applied to the determination of lead(II) in a certified reference material and the result agrees satisfactorily with the certified value.

Vital signals provide essential information regarding the health status of individuals, thereby contributing to health management and medical research. Present monitoring methods, such as ECGs (Electrocardiograms) and smartwatches, demand proximity and fixed postures, which limit their applicability. To address this, Non-contact vital signal measurement methods, such as CW (Continuous-Wave) radar, have emerged as a solution. However, unwanted signal components and a stepwise processing approach lead to errors and limitations in heart rate detection. To overcome these issues, this study introduces an integrated neural network approach that combines noise removal, demodulation, and dominant-frequency detection into a unified process. The neural network employed for signal processing in this research adopts a MLP (Multi-Layer Perceptron) architecture, which analyzes the in-phase and quadrature signals collected within a specified time window, using two distinct input layers. The training of the neural network utilizes CW radar signals and reference heart rates obtained from the ECG. In the experimental evaluation, networks trained on different datasets were compared, and their performance was assessed based on loss and frequency accuracy. The proposed methodology exhibits substantial potential for achieving precise vital signals through non-contact measurements, effectively mitigating the limitations of existing methodologies.
Delayed hydride cracking (DHC) was first observed in pressure tubes in Canadian CANDU reactors. In light water reactors, DHC was not observed until the late 1990s in high-burnup boiling water reactor (BWR) fuel cladding. In recent years, the focus on DHC has resurfaced in light of the increased interest in the cladding integrity during interim conditions. In principle, all spent fuel in the wet pools has sufficient hydrogen content for DHC to operate below $300^{\circ}C$. It is therefore of importance to establish the critical parameters for DHC to operate. This work studies the threshold stress intensity factor ($K_{IH}$) to initiate DHC as a function of temperature in Zry-4 for temperatures between $227^{\circ}C$ and $315^{\circ}C$. The experimental technique used in this study was the pin-loading testing technique. To determine the $K_{IH}$, an unloading method was used where the load was successively reduced in a stepwise manner until no cracking was observed during 24 hours. The results showed that there was moderate temperature behavior at lower temperatures. Around $300^{\circ}C$, there was a sharp increase in $K_{IH}$ indicating the upper temperature limit for DHC. The value for $K_{IH}$ at $227^{\circ}C$ was determined to be $2.6{\pm}0.3MPa$${\surd}$m.

As the limit state design method is applied as a method of designing concrete structures, the ultimate state is considered in the analysis or design. In fact, when the reinforced concrete member bears tensile force, the force is transmitted from the rebar to the concrete, and the structure bears the tensile force to the ultimate state even after yield. Therefore, the accurate evaluation of behavior after yield, it is necessary to study the tension stiffening effect after yield of the flexural member. In this study, a 4-point bending test was conducted on the RC simple beam having a rectangular cross section of the double reinforcement, and the behavior of the member was analyzed in detail using the image analysis method. Using the analysis results, the estimation formula for the tension stiffening effect after yield was proposed, and the applicability of this was verified through the experimental results of existing study. The difference between the ultimate strain and the yield strain representing the ductile behavior of the member is similar to the experimental results. The prediction of the proposed formula is relatively accurate.
The root pile system is insitu soil reinforcement technique that uses a series of reticulately installed micropiles. In terms of mechanical improvement by means of grouted reinform ming elements, the root pile system is similar to the soil nailing system. The main difference between root piles and soil nailing are due to the fact that the reinforcing bars in root piles are normally grouted under high pressure and that the alignments of the reinforcing members differ. Recently, the root pile system has been broadly used to stabilize slopes and retain excavations. The accurate design of the root pile system is, however, a very difficult tass owing to geometric variety and statical indetermination, and to the difficulty in the soilfiles interaction analysis. As a result, moat of the current design methods have been heavily dependent on the experiences and approximate approach. This paper proposes a quasi-three dimensional method of analysis for the root pile system applied to the stabilization of slopes. The proposed methods of analysis include i) a technique to estimate the change in borehole radium as a function of the grout pressure as well as a function of the time when the grout pressure is applied, ii) a technique to evaluate quasi -three dimensional limit-equilibrium stability for sliding, iii) a technique to predict the stability with respect to plastic deformation of the soil between adjacent root piles, and iv) a quasi -three dimensional finite element technique to compute stresses and dis placements of the root pile structure barred on the generalized plane strain condition and composite unit cell concept talon형 with considerations of the group effect and knot effect. By using the proposed technique to estimate the change in borehole radius as a function of the grout pressure as well as a function of the time, the estimations are made and compar ed with the Kleyner 8l Krizek's experimental test results. Also by using the proposed quasi-three dimensional analytical method, analyses have been performed with the aim of pointing out the effects of various factors on the interaction behaviors of the root pile system.

In order to investigate the analytical uncertainties associated with sampling and analysis of major greenhouse gaseous pollutants(carbon dioxide and methane), we attempted to quantify their adsorptive loss due to the contact with the container wall(such as Tedlar bag and vial). Using the GC/FID method, some basic experimental parameters(such as reproducibility and method detection limit) have been evaluated as part of the essential QA/QC The reproducibilities of carbon dioxide and methane were estimated as 2.02 and 0.2%, respectively. In addition, method detection limits were measured as 0.61 and 0.06 ng, respectively. A test of sample loss rate has also been made for Tedlar bag and vial by assessing the absolute amount of sample loss on the wall. By transferring the samples contained in Tedlar bag to various sizes of Tedlar bags, we measured differences in the absolute loss quantity due to such transfer. In addition, we also examined such loss mechanism as a function of elapsed time and light penetration rate for vial. As results, carbon dioxide and methane have shown about 2% of sample loss due to such contact. It is also noticed that the amount of loss with vial surface is lower than that of Tedlar bag. Therefore, field collection of greenhouse gases using various container types should be made more cautiously to minimize the possibility of sample loss and bias related to such loss.

Fitting process carried out in automobile transmission assembly line is classified into three classes; heat fitting, press fitting, and their combined fitting. Heat fitting is a method that heats gear to a suitable range under the tempering temperature and squeezes it toward the outer diameter of shaft. Its stress depends on the yield strength of gear. Press fitting is a method that generally squeezes gear toward that of shaft at room temperature by press. Another method heats warmly gear and safely squeezes it toward that of shaft. Warm shrink fitting process for automobile transmission part is now gradually increased, but the parts (shaft/gear) assembled by this process produced dimensional changes of gear profile in both radial and circumferential directions. So that it may cause noise and vibration between gears. In order to solve these problems, we need an analysis of warm shrink fitting process, in which design parameters are involved; contact pressure according to fitting interference between outer diameter of shaft and inner diameter of gear, fitting temperature, and profile tolerance of gear. In this study, an closed form equation to predict contact pressure and fitting load was proposed in order to develop optimization technique of warm shrink fitting process and verified its reliability through the experimental results measured in the field and FEM, that is, thermal-structural coupled field analysis. Actual loads measured in the field have a good agreement with the results obtained by theoretical and finite element analysis and also the expanded amounts of the gear profile in both radial and circumferential directions are within the limit tolerances used in the field.
Nowadays, with increase of seafood consumption, there have been increasing reports of defective seafood products. There have been incidents of red drum (Sciaenops ocellatus) being sold as red seabream (Pagrus major). In this study, we sought to develop and validate species-specific PCRs to differentiate between P. major and S. ocellatus to prevent the sale of S. ocellatus as P. major. Primers for P. major were designed to bind 12s rRNA and those for S. ocellatus were designed to bind 16s rRNA. Multiplex PCR showed a 468 bp amplicon for P. major and a 181 bp amplicon for S. ocellatus. The limit of detection of P. major and S. ocellatus was present at 1 ng each. The developed primers were validated with 19 P. major samples of food items purchased through the internet. Using this monitoring method, the experimental results and tested species were in agreement. Hence, the developed multiplex PCR method is considered reliable to authenticate P. major and S. ocellatus.
