Blast furnace slag cement(BSC) has many merits in relation to its prodution cost or environmental problem of these days, but it has still some limitation in broad use mainly because it has the lower early hydration strength than the normal portland cement(PC) has. In the present study, several different experimental concepts to improve its low strength in the early hydration stage were tried out which addition of the effective alkali activators such as Ca(OH)2 and limestone powder, fly ash in existing BSC. It was found that the addition of suitable quantity the effective alkali activators such as Ca(OH)2 and limestone powder, fly ash in BSC can be a possible way to get enough early strength compared with the PC and existing BSC.
The purpose of this study is to design and to apply the self-compaction concrete mixture to field, having not only high strength but also compensation for shrinkage without thermal crack under 4 sides outer restraint of the member. In the experimental mix, replacement ratio of limestone Powder, CSA expansive additives, and unit water were selected as parameters, using portland blast-furnace slag cement. And, bleeding test, expansibility test, hydration heat analysis were performed. As a results, when Cement is replaced with 35% limestone Powder, 6% CSA expansive additives at unit water 175kg/$m^3$, demanded performances of fresh and hardened self-compaction concrete are accomplished in the field application.
The paper explores the potential of applicability of Genetic programming approach (GP), adopted in this investigation, to model the combined effects of five independent variables to predict the mini-slump, the plate cohesion meter, the induced bleeding test, the J-fiber penetration value, and the compressive strength at 7 and 28 days of self-compacting slurry infiltrated fiber concrete (SIFCON). The variables investigated were the proportions of limestone powder (LSP) and sand, the dosage rates of superplasticiser (SP) and viscosity modifying agent (VMA), and water-to-binder ratio (W/B). Twenty eight mixtures were made with 10-50% LSP as replacement of cement, 0.02-0.06% VMA by mass of cement, 0.6-1.2% SP and 50-150% sand (% mass of binder) and 0.42-0.48 W/B. The proposed genetic models of the self-compacting SIFCON offer useful modelling approach regarding the mix optimisation in predicting the fluidity, the cohesion, the bleeding, the penetration, and the compressive strength.
Recently, the crack of concrete induced by the heat of hydration of cement is a serious problem for more greater, special and higher strength of concrete structures. The increasing concrete's temperature is mainly caused by the heat of hydration of cement and so, to control the thermal stress of concrete structure is desirable to use low heater material of hydration. There are many methods to diminish the increasing of concrete temperature such as using of low heat cement, addition of fly-ash, application of pre-cooling, etc., and in this study, we evaluate the heating and mechanical properties of ultra low heat mass concrete using Low Heat Portland(KS Type IV) cement with 30% of limestone powder. The results of this study will be applied to side wall and bottom of No. 15 and 16 of underground LNG tank in Inchon.

The objective of this study is to analyze the degree of surface-glossing of cement mortar with the grading of aggregate and contents of limestone powder. According to the experimental results, degree of surface-glossing of cement mortar using river sand is higher than that of crushed sand. As F.M of aggregates is less than 2.78, degree surface-flossing of cement mortar has better performance, Also, as the contents of limestone power increase, degree of surface-flossing is shown to be improved, And it shows that degree of surface-glossing decrease with elapse of age.
