CRIEPI 방식을 이용한 국내 가공 배전선로에서의 뇌 섬락률 산정 (Analysis of Flashover Rate by Lightning in Korea Distribution Line using CRIEPI Method)

  • This paper analyzes the flashover rate by lightning in Korea distribution system. Because of random characteristics of lightning, the Monte Carlo method is applied to estimate the lightning performance. The magnitude of lightning stroke is based on the curve measured in field. The classification of direct and indirect lightning depends on the striking distance. The striking distance and flashover rate are calculated by using the method based on Central Research Institute of Electric Power Industry(CRIEPI). The distribution system and lightning is modeled by using EMTP and MATLAB, and the accuracy of modeling is discussed. The simulations for the various spacing between two adjacent surge arresters and the various grounding resistance of GW according to the existence of GW are performed and the simulation results are analyzed.

  • The single point bonding in underground transmission system can induce high voltage on the sheath when ground fault, lightning serge and switching serge occurs, at that time underground cable systems cannot offer a return path of fault current. Accordingly if fault current, which cannot return to ground, flows at the single point bonding, high voltage can be induced in SVL and that voltage can cause aging and breakdown of SVL. Therefore this paper study on the effect of parallel ground conductor at the single point bonding when ground fault and lightning serge occurs by using ATPDraw.

  • In an electric railway feeding system, transient over-voltage often appears due to the feeder's direct lightning and induced lightning, while switching over-voltage also frequently occurs during operation of electric feeding in substation facilities. Such over-voltage is several times larger than the regular power, and accordingly leads to the dieletric breakdown of eletric power products such as invasion transformers and circuit breakers. Arresters are installed to protect these machines, while arrester counters are installed to observe the arrester's activation. This thesis aims to explore the status of an arrester counter that is being activated several thousand times, determine whether the arrester has actually been activated in relation to the counter, and investigate the over-heatedness and risks of the arrester.

22.9kV 수전설비에서 측정된 과도과전압의 특성 (Features of Transient Overvoltages Observed at 22.9kV Consumer's Substation)

  • The aims of this paper are to characterize the transient overvoltages(TOVs) and to evaluate the risk occurring at 22.9kV consumer's substation. The measurements of lightning- and switching-caused TOVs were made during Mar. 2013 and Feb. 2014. As a consequence, 47 events of TOVs were recorded and 4 of them were higher than the input voltage envelope(IVE) of the information technology industry council(ITI) curve. The measured TOVs are characterized by longer front times and longer durations compared to the $1.2/50{\mu}s$ standard impulse voltage waveform, and some of them represent bipolar waves with lower oscillation frequencies. It suggests that the test of non-standard impulse voltage waveforms is needed for effective risk assessments of power apparatus. Lightning- and switching-caused TOVs exceeding IVE of ITI curve are induced at the secondary of 22.9kV potential transformer(PT). We may, therefore, conclude that the surge protection devices should be applied at the secondary of PT and the surge absorbers should be installed at the primary of VCB or PT. The results presented in this paper could be useful to design the reasonable insulation coordination for 22.9kV consumer's substation.

  • This paper describes the voltage induced at neutral line and the proper location of lightning arrester in combined 22.9 kV class distribution line jointed overhead line and cable each other Modeling is established in ATP Draw to perform simulation. Simulated distribution line at this paper consists of distribution line 4.2km and underground distribution line 2km. Overvoltage and induced voltage are analyzed at several point of combined line. Analysis results was compared to select the best point to install arrester. Such analysis technology will be applied to obtaining capacity and location of arrester in the similar combined distribution line.

Failure Prediction of Metal Oxide Varistor Using Nonlinear Surge Look-up Table Based on Experimental Data

  • The metal oxide varistor (MOV) is a major component of the surge protection devices (SPDs) currently in use. The device is judged to be faulty when fatigue caused by the continuous inflow of lightning accumulates and reaches the damage limit. In many cases, induced lightning resulting from lightning strikes flows in to the device several times per second in succession. Therefore, the frequency or the rate at which the SPD is actually exposed to stress, called a surge, is outside the range of human perception. For this reason, the protective device should be replaced if it actually approaches the end of its life even though it is not faulty at present, currently no basis exists for making the judgment of remaining lifetime. Up to now, the life of an MOV has been predicted solely based on the number of inflow surges, irrespective of the magnitude of the surge current or the amount of energy that has flowed through the device. In this study, nonlinear data that shows the damage to an MOV depending on the count of surge and the amount of input current were collected through a high-voltage test. Then, a failure prediction algorithm was proposed by preparing a look-up table using the results of the test. The proposed method was experimentally verified using an impulse surge generator

  • 고고도 전자기 펄스(HEMP)의 상황은 고고도 핵폭발로 인해 발생한다. HEMP상황은 위협 레벨 조사(TLI)를 통해 HEMP 상황을 시뮬레이션 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 전술기동무선통신체계의 안테나 종류에 따른 유도 전압을 위협 레벨 조사로 측정 및 분석 하였다. HEMP의 영향을 받으면 전자 장비가 마비되거나 손상 될 수 있다. HEMP 방호 필터는 전원선 및 신호선용으로 상용화되어 있다. 그러나 안테나용 HEMP 필터는 상용화가 부족한 편이며 존재하더라도 낙뢰보호용으로 제작되어 있다. 안테나의 주파수와 종류에 따라 적절한 HEMP 방호 필터를 만들기 위해 유도 전압을 측정하고 외삽법을 통해 최대 유도 전압을 분석하였다. 측정 결과 HF, VHF, UHF 대역과 같이 주파수가 증가할수록 측정된 유도전압은 감소하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • The distributed jointing method is used in the underground tunnel due to narrow space of jointing. This method causes non-uniform length between cable joints. It has an effect on the sheath circulating current and the induced voltage. Furthermore the distributed jointing method may cause transient overvoltage resulting from lightning in underground cable which is connected with overhead line. The author diversely studied the sheath circulating current and induced voltage on underground cable depending on the distributed jointing length under the normal and the transient circumstances. The various simulation results really improve the cable system utility.

  • 본 논문은 전기철도시스템 고압 배전선로에서 직격뇌에 의한 가공지선의 영향에 대해서 설명하였다. EMTP를 사용하여 가공지선과 보안기의 영향을 정량적으로 분석하였다. 또한 전차선로의 구조변경과 피격전류의 크기, 파미값의 변화에 대한 영향도 평가하였다. 분석결과 기존 시스템에 가공지선의 설치는 전기철도시스템 고압 배전선로에 유도되는 피격전압을 억제하는 효과가 있음을 입증하였다.
