Performance of Hot-dip Zn-6%Al-3%Mg Alloy Coated Steel Sheet as Automotive Body Material

  • For the purpose of applying a hot-dip Zn-6mass%Al-3mass%Mg alloy coated steel sheet (ZAM) to automotive body materials, a laboratory study of the general properties required for inner and outer panels of automotive bodies was performed. Even with only light coating weight, ZAM showed an excellent corrosion resistance in terms of both cosmetic and perforation corrosion compared to the currently used materials for automotive bodies, GI70 and GA45. In our study, it was confirmed that ZAM exhibits as good as or better properties than GI70 in terms of spot weldability and press formability. Furthermore, since the same corrosion resistance can be achieved with less coating weight by applying ZAM, laser weldability is better than GI and GA.

Influence of Stocking Density with Different Light System on the Growth Performance and Behavior in Broiler Chickens

  • This study evaluated the effects of stocking density on performance and behavioral activities of 35-day-old broilers in relation to incandescent white bulb (IB) light and LED yellow and white light. A total of 1,650 day-old chicks were weighed and randomly allocated into six treatment groups in a 2 × 3 factorial arrangement based on stocking density (14 birds m-2 and 22 birds m-2) and color of lights (IB; monochromatic LED yellow and white light) with five replicates for each treatment. The results showed that final body weight, weight gain and feed conversion of broilers were improved at a stocking density of 14 birds m-2 with exposure to LED lights. Similarly, broilers spent more time exhibiting inactive behavior (e.g. standing) and active behaviors (e.g. walking and walking plus pecking) under 14 birds m-2 with exposure to lights as compared that of other treatment groups. Regarding a stocking density of 22 birds m-2, broilers performance traits were negatively affected and also activities were less. The performance of broilers was not significantly altered for the main factor of different lights but broilers were less inactive (e.g less time spent sitting plus standing) and more time spent active behavior in walking under IB light than LED light. Thus, we concluded that a stocking density 14 birds m-2 with exposure to LED light significantly improved broiler performance and behavioral activity and these conditions could therefore improve the overall welfare of farmed chickens.

건조법, 파쇄법, 성형법에 따른 인공경량골재의 파쇄율 비교 (A comparison of fracture rate of artificial light-weight aggregates by various drying, breaking, and forming methods)

  • 적점토 60 wt%, 석탄회 20 wt%, 석분오니 20 wt%를 혼합하여 제작한 sheet 형태의 소지에 인덴트(indent)를 주고 건조방법, 파쇄방법, 성형방법을 변화시켜 1~5 mm 골재의 파쇄율을 알아보았다. 소지를 건조할 때 실내와 실외에서의 자연건조, 건조기건조, 마이크로웨이브(microwave)건조, 급속건조로 분류하여 비교실험 하였고, 파쇄방법은 볼밀 Ⅰ 파쇄, 볼밀 Ⅱ 파쇄, 낙하파쇄, 기계식 파쇄(롤러밀사용)법으로 변화를 주었다. 성형방법은 인덴트의 간격과 깊이를 변화시키면서 동시에 소지의 두께를 변화시켜 실험하였다. 건조방법에 의한 비교실험 결과는 210초까지 건조시킨 마이크로웨이브건조가 약 42%로. 파쇄방법에서는 볼밀 Ⅱ 파쇄법이 약 65 %로 가장 높은 파쇄율을 보였고, 성형방법에서는 인덴트의 깊이가 깊어질수록(3mm의 소지에서만), 소지의 두께가 증가할수록 크기가 Ф=5 mm보다 큰 골재의 수율은 감소했고 Ф=5 mm 이하인 골재의 수율은 증가했다. 각각의 실험 후 파쇄 된 1~5mm 골재의 aspect ratio를 비교해본 결과 3mm 두께의 소지를 급속건조법에 의해 건조하고 볼밀 Ⅱ법을 이용해 파쇄 한 경우 가장 균일한 골재의 모양으로 파쇄 되었음을 알 수 있었다.

  • In automotive industry, light weight vehicle is one of issues because of the air pollution and the protection of environment. Therefore, automotive manufacturers have tried to apply light materials such as aluminum to car body. Aluminum welding using laser has some advantages high energy density and high productivity. It is very important to understand behavior of plasma and keyhole in order to improve weld quality and monitor the weld state. In this study, spectral analysis was carried out to verify the spectrum for plasma which is generated in laser welding of A 6000 aluminum alloy. Two photodiodes which cover the range of plasma wavelength was used to measure light emission during laser welding according to assist gas flow rate and welding speed. Analysis of relationship between sensor signals of welding variables and formation of keyhole and plasma is performed. To determine the level of significance, analysis of variation (ANOVA) was carried out.

고주파열처리에 의한 자동차용 고강도 강판의 기계적 성질변화 (Mechanical Properties of High Stength Sheet Steels for Auto-Body by Induction Heat Treatment)

  • The efforts which increase the strength of the auto-body structure and decrease its weight lead to develop a new concept of part production systems, such as Post-Form Strengthening by induction heat treatment. In this study, several cold and hot-rolled sheet steels were used to find out optimum induction heat treatment conditions. After induction heat treatment, strength of heat-treated sheet steels was increased significantly compared with that of as-rolled steels. From these results, auto-body structure which has more light and safe has been made by using this induction hardening method.

일체형 구조를 갖는 1축 광학 토크 센서 개발 (Development of a Single-Joint Optical Torque Sensor with One Body Structure)

  • This paper proposes a single-joint optical torque sensor with one body structure. Conventional optical torque sensors consist of three parts, two plates and an elastic structure. They have slightly slipping problem between plates and elastic structure due to the manufacturing tolerance. Since the order of measurement range of optical sensor is about ten micrometers, the slipping problem causes large measurement error, especially in the case of vibrational or high speed plant. This problem does not occur in the proposed design due to the one body structure. The proposed sensor has advantage of low cost, light weight, and small size. And it is easy to design and manufacture. Simulation works that analysis of stress and strain are performed accurately. To demonstrate the performance of proposed sensor, experiments were implemented to compare with a commercial force/torque sensor (ATI Mini45).

  • The use of light weight magnesium alloy offers significant potential towards improvement of the automotive fuel efficiency. However, the application of formed magnesium alloy components in auto-body structures is restricted due to the low formability at room temperature and lack of knowledge for processing magnesium alloys at elevated temperatures. In this study, a warm tensile test of magnesium alloys was performed to measure tensile strength and elongation. An improvement in formability was confirmed at increased temperatures above about $250^{\circ}C$. Car body warm forming technology was conducted for forming forming reinforced dash components of the magnesium alloy AZ31B sheet at elevated temperatures.

조도가 육계 병아리의 생산성, 혈액성상 및 면역 수준에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Light Intensity on the Growth Performance, Blood Parameter and Immune Status of Broiler Chicks)

  • 본 연구는 육계 병아리 시기(0~7일령)에 조명의 조도 차이에 따른 생산성, 혈액 조성 및 스트레스 수준에 미치는 영향을 대하여 조사하였다. 육계(Ross 308) 초생추(48.0±0.2 g) 수컷 240수를 조도에 따라 3처리구(20, 30 및 50 lx)로 나누어, 처리구 당 4반복, 반복 당 20수를 완전임의 배치하였다. 7일령에 체중, 사료요구율, 가슴육과 간의 무게, 소장 길이를 측정하였으며, 혈액을 채취하여 혈구, 혈청 생화학 조성, corticosterone, IL-6 및 TNF-α을 분석하였다. 체중, 증체량, 가슴근육 및 간 무게는 20 lx 처리구보다 50 lx 처리구에서 유의적으로 높게 나타났으나(P<0.05), 사료 섭취량, 사료 요구량, 소장 길이는 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았다. 혈구 분석 결과, 백혈구, 적혈구, 혈소판 조성, 혈청 생화학 성분(glucose 및 IP 제외)은 처리구 사이에서 유의적인 차이가 보이지 않았다. Corticosterone과 IL-6은 20 lx 처리구에서 높은 농도를 나타내었다(P<0.05). 결론적으로, 육계 병아리 시기에 조도를 50 lx로 처리하였을 때 증체량 및 가슴근육 비율이 증가하였으며, corticosterone 및 IL-6는 낮은 함량을 나타내었다. 따라서 병아리 시기의 높은 조도는 생산 능력, 스트레스 및 면역 상태를 개선하는 것으로 사료된다.

한우에서 수정란 이식의 효율 증진에 관한 연구 IV. 수정란 이식 송아지의 임신기간 및 체중변화에 미치는 영향 (Studies on the Improvement of Embryo Transfer Efficiency in Korean Cattle IV. Effect of the Gestation Length and the Weight Changes of Calves Produced after Embryo Transfer)

  • This study was carried out to establish an effective system for embryo transfer of techniques by analyzing several factors affecting the gestation length and the weight changes of calves produced from embryo transfer in Korean cattle. The results obtained in study on factors affecting the gestation length and the weight changes of calves produced from embryo transfer were as fallow; 1) The gestation length and the birth weight did not differ between male and female, but the weight changes after birth were remarkablely different between sex(P<0.05). 2) The gestation length between heifers and cows was not different, and body weights at birth and 6 months were remarkabley heavy in cows(P<0.05). Weight changes after 6 months were not different. 3) The gestation length and the birth weight were significantly different between the single and twin calving (P<0.05). Weight of twin at 6 and 12 months were remarkabely light. 4) Calving seasons did not affect the gestation length the and the birth weight. Weaning weight was significantly heavy(P<0.05), but weight changes after weaning were no different among the calving seasons. Conclusivley, this results suggest that cows will be better when considering growth of calves and twin produced from embryo trnsfer in Korean cattle.

Optimum Conditions for Artificial Fruiting Body Formation of Cordyceps cardinalis

  • Stromatal fruiting bodies of Cordyceps cardinalis were successfully produced in cereals. Brown rice, German millet and standard millet produced the longest-length of stromata, followed by Chinese pearl barley, Indian millet, black rice and standard barley. Oatmeal produced the shortest-length of fruiting bodies. Supplementation of pupa and larva to the grains resulted in a slightly enhanced production of fruiting bodies; pupa showing better production than larva. 50~60 g of brown rice and 10~20 g of pupa mixed with 50~60 mL of water in 1,000 mL polypropylene (PP) bottle was found to be optimum for fruiting body production. Liquid inoculation of 15~20 mL per PP bottle produced best fruiting bodies. The optimal temperature for the formation of fruiting bodies was $25^{\circ}C$, under conditions of continuous light. Few fruiting bodies were produced under the condition of complete darkness, and the fresh weight was considerable low, compared to that of light condition.
