철근 부식속도 예측식을 이용한 철근 피복 파괴 시간 추정 (Estimation of Concrete Cover Failure Time Considering the Corrosion Rate in Reinforced Concrete Structures)

  • 본 연구에서는 염해환경에 노출되어 있는 철근콘크리트 구조물의 수명예측에 있어서 철근덮개 파괴시간 예측을 위하여, 유한요소해석을 통한 방법을 제시하였다. 또한 본 연구에서는 인공세공용액중의 철근 부식속도로부터 콘크리트 중의 철근 부식속도를 유도하는 방법을 제시하였으며, 철근 부식의 분포에 따른 철근덮개의 파괴시간을 비교하여, 철근덮개 파괴시간을 합리적으로 예측하기 위한 방법을 제시하였다. 국부부식을 고려한 경우 균일한 부식을 가정한 경우보다 최대 약 40%정도 철근덮개 파괴시간이 짧아짐을 알 수 있다. 따라서, 철근덮개의 파괴시간 예측을 위한 유한요소해석에 있어서 국부부식을 고려하는 것이 합리적인 결과를 제시할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

Inverted exponentiated Weibull distribution with applications to lifetime data

  • In this paper, we introduce the inverted exponentiated Weibull (IEW) distribution which contains exponentiated inverted Weibull distribution, inverse Weibull (IW) distribution, and inverted exponentiated distribution as submodels. The proposed distribution is obtained by the inverse form of the exponentiated Weibull distribution. In particular, we explain that the proposed distribution can be interpreted by Marshall and Olkin's book (Lifetime Distributions: Structure of Non-parametric, Semiparametric, and Parametric Families, 2007, Springer) idea. We derive the cumulative distribution function and hazard function and calculate expression for its moment. The hazard function of the IEW distribution can be decreasing, increasing or bathtub-shaped. The maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) is obtained. Then we show the existence and uniqueness of MLE. We can also obtain the Bayesian estimation by using the Gibbs sampler with the Metropolis-Hastings algorithm. We also give applications with a simulated data set and two real data set to show the flexibility of the IEW distribution. Finally, conclusions are mentioned.

  • One important measure of performance for a repairable system is steady-state availability. In this paper, a method to estimate and establish confidence interval for the steady-state availability under Weibull lifetime and lognormal repair time distributions is proposed. Also, bias and mean squared error of a point estimator for an availability are investigated. In addition, a procedure to derive the sample size and critical value for availability demonstration test is presented and illustrated with a numerical example.

  • The coating and estimation of gas and moisture barriers on polymer and glass substrates are receiving very much attention in passivation of organic light emitting devices (OLEDs). In this study, the encapsulation and lifetime measurement techniques of OLEDs were presented. The degradation mechanisms of bare and encapsulated OLEDs were investigated by the visual lifetime measurement (VLM) system with the parameters such as a pixel luminance(L), a luminance rms roughness(dL), a brightness area ratio(R), an edge degradation depth(D), etc.

  • Estimating parameters of the lifetime distribution is investigated when field failure data are not completely reported. To take into account the reality and the accuracy of the estimates in such a case, the failure reporting probability is incorporated in estimating parameters. Firstly, method of maximum likelihood estimate(MLE) is used to estimate parameters of the lifetime distribution when failure reporting probability is known. Secondly, Expectation and Maximization(EM) algorithm is used to estimate the failure reporting probability and parameters of the lifetime distribution simultaneously when failure reporting probability is unknown. For both case, procedures of estimation are illustrated for single Weibull distribution and mixed Weibull distribution. Simulation results show that MLE obtained by the proposed method is more accurate than the conventional MLE.

  • Purpose: In this paper, storage lifetime of delay system in the fuse of 81MM illuminating projectile is estimated. Methods: Accelerated degradation testings of tungsten delay system using both temperature and humidity stresses were performed, and then delay time increase of the systems were analyzed as degradation data based on distribution-based degradation processes. Results: The estimated storage lifetime of detonator is between 11.8 years and 17.6 years with each stress-life relationship. Conclusion: Comparing with field data, storage lifetime of 90% reliability is about 12 years.

  • The FPCB is used as the important component of the sliding mechanism of mobile phones. FPCB have been used as jumper cables(fixed wiring) in various types of circuits because of their flexibility and bending property. The dominant failure mode of the FPCB is open that was caused by fatigue. The fatigue is repeated whenever the sliding is open, so it is a mainly cause of FPCB fatigue. We examined the bending-fatigue lifetime of FPCB. we focused on observing the contact resistance degradation of FPCB of mobile phones according to different test condition of bending strain. As a result, it has proved that lifetime decreased by increasing bending strain.

ESS 잔존수명 추정 모델 경량화 연구 (Lightweight Model for Energy Storage System Remaining Useful Lifetime Estimation)

  • ESS(energy storage system)는 재생에너지 자원의 증가 등의 영향에 따라 최근 다양한 분야에서 중요한 전력원으로 자리 잡고 있다. ESS는 사용에 따라 가용 용량이 지속적으로 감소하므로 잔존수명을 관리하는 것이 중요하다. 잔존수명의 추정을 위하여 주기적으로 점검자가 확인하는 방식이 사용될 수도 있으나, 관리시스템을 통하여 자동으로 모니터링되고 관리되는 것이 일반적이다. ESS 사업자 관점에서 정확도 높은 상태추정은 경제적, 효율적 운용을 위하여 중요하다. 잔존수명추정 모델은 운영에 따른 사이클 노후화와 기간 경과에 따른 캘린더 노후화를 고려하여 구성되며 복잡한 수학적 연산을 필요로 한다. ESS에 탑재되는 저비용 저성능의 프로세서에 잔존수명 추정모델의 적용을 위해서는 모델의 적절한 경량화 방안이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 낮은 수준의 프로세서에서 연산이 용이하도록 ESS 잔존수명예측 모델을 경량화하였다. 시뮬레이션 평가 결과 ESS 잔존수명 추정 기준모델과 제안하는 모델간 오차는 1% 이내로 나타났다. 또한, 제안된 모델의 성능개선 효과 검증을 위하여 ATmega328을 기반으로 비교 평가를 수행하였을 때, 76.8~78.3%의 컴퓨팅 시간 단축을 확인하였다.

  • In this paper, a new extension of Lindley distribution has been introduced. Certain characterizations based on truncated moments, hazard and reverse hazard function, conditional expectation of the proposed distribution are presented. Besides, these characterizations, other statistical/mathematical properties of the proposed model are also discussed. The estimation of the parameters is performed through different classical methods of estimation. Bayes estimation is computed under gamma informative prior under the squared error loss function. The performances of all estimation methods are studied via Monte Carlo simulations in mean square error sense. The potential of the proposed model is analyzed through two data sets. A modified goodness-of-fit test using the Nikulin-Rao-Robson statistic test is investigated via two examples and is observed that the new extension might be used as an alternative lifetime model.
