The paper examined effect of age cohort on life cycle financial planning. A total of 990 questionnaires were distributed with a 55.2% return rate. Seven hypotheses were analysed using hierarchical and ordinary regression analysis. The results revealed that age cohort variables made significant contribution to life cycle financial planning as well as personal orientation towards retirement planning, particularly the younger age cohort. Age cohorts do affect personal orientation towards retirement planning with the confidence level making a significant impact. Current financial resources do have a strong positive impact on consumption for all age cohorts. On the other hand, no significant effect was found between age cohorts and current financial resources but older age cohorts were relatively more significant predictors. The implication was that not only should their individual perceptions of financial planning become an increasingly important part of people's long-term commitment throughout their life-cycle, it must also assume the role as a self-directed life-long learning process, in view of the ever-changing and complicated financial environment.

In order to solve housing shortage, an apartment has been built and supplied in large quantities in Korea. As such a result, the apartment became a typical housing type in Korea. However, the housing became vulnerable to accommodate rapidly changing life-style & life-cycle of koreans and was lost the concept of Korean traditional housing for inheriting and developing Korean traditional culture. Therefore, this paper aims at eliciting of design elements for development on standard model of long-life housing with durability & flexibility based on data derived from housing consumers's questionnaire survey and expert's opinion surveys. We expect that the standard model developed on the basis of open building applying support & infill elements will be used as a standard model for planning future long-life housing with capacity.

This study measures the subjectivity on stressful life events of middle- aged women. Method: Q-Methodological method was used for that purpose. As for the research method, Q-statements were collected preliminary to the study of through in-depth interviews and a literature review. For the study 38 Q-statements were selected. There were 28 middle aged women as subjects for the research. Q-Factor Analysis by using PC Quanl Program to supply the material. Result: Through the result of this study, the stressful life events of middle-aged women could be identified by 4 types. The type I is called the conflict in relationship with husband's family members. The type II is called lack of marital intimacy. The type III is called low self-esteem. The type IV is called changing life cycle itself. Conclusion: Therefore, identifing the subjectivity on the stressful life events of middle-aged women would be a basic step for the understanding of middle aged women.

This study aims to review the family life and its changing process in the early twenty’s century. It is explored through the editorial of the Maeil-Shinho during 1910∼1945. It is valuable work to explore of family life in the Maeil-Shinbo newspapers because it was continuously published from 1910 to 1945. The author attempted to study family life in five major such as food and nutrition, clothing, resource management, family, and child care. And of the articles food and nutrition parts ranks the highest order and clothing care was the second highest. In the early nineteenth century, many of articles were about to family life but decreased its amount by 1940. Of the editorials, most articles had dealt with the educational context in order to improve the quality of family life.

Low cycle fatigue life of spheroidal graphite cast iron is determined by the morphological parameters of internal graphite. The aim of this study is to clarify the effect of the number of nodular grain of spheroidal graphite cast iron on low cycle fatigue life. Two specimens that have identical average nodular grain size by changing nodular grain volume fraction and different number of nodular grain count was tested. In this paper, the parameter governing fatigue life through fatigue test, the number of nodular grain seriously affect fatigue life and nodular grain size is no longer governing parameter of it.

The development of science and technology not only improved the quality of life of human being, but also brought about environmental problems. Consequently, consensus has been established that early environmental education for youngsters is critical for the preservation of clean environment. A conventional way of teaching has not been very effective for changing their attitude and behavior regarding environmental problems. STS program, which has been one of the major trend in science education, intends to teach science through everyday experience rather than knowledge. This study purports to examine the effectiveness of STS program on environmental problems compared to conventional teaching method. Six week program was developed and applied to subchapter 'Environmental Pollutions & Our Lives' of 3rd grade middle school science text book. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. 1. STS program was significantly effective in changing students' attitude(p<.001). It was effective not only changing their thinking but also changing their behavior. 2. There was no difference between the STS program and conventional teaching method in improving students' knowledge(p>.05). 3. The correlation between the level of knowledge achievement and the attitude on environment was very low(r=.0564,p>.05).

For developing a canopy photosynthesis model, an efficient method to measure the photosynthetic rate in a growth chamber is required. The objective of this study was to develop a method for establishing canopy photosynthetic rate curves of romaine lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) with light intensity and CO₂ concentration variables using controlled growth chamber. The plants were grown in plant factory modules, and the canopy photosynthesis rates were measured in sealed growth chambers made of acrylic (1.0 × 0.8 × 0.5 m). First, the canopy photosynthetic rates of the plants were measured, and then the time constants were compared between two application methods: 1) changing light intensity (340, 270, 200, and 130 μmol·m^-2·s^-1) at a fixed CO₂ concentration (1,000 μmol·mol^-1) and 2) changing CO₂ concentration (600, 1,000, 1,400, and 1,800 μmol·mol^-1) at a fixed light intensity (200 μmol·m^-2·s^-1). Second, the canopy photosynthetic rates were measured by changing the light intensity at a CO₂ concentration of 1,000 μmol·mol^-1 and compared with those measured by changing the CO₂ concentration at a light intensity of 200 μmol·m^-2·s^-1. The time constant when changing the CO₂ concentration at the fixed light intensity was 3.2 times longer, and the deviation in photosynthetic rate was larger than when changing the light intensity. The canopy photosynthetic rate was obtained stably with a time lag of one min when changing the light intensity, while a time lag of six min or longer was required when changing the CO₂ concentration. Therefore, changing the light intensity at a fixed CO₂ concentration is more appropriate for short-term measurement of canopy photosynthesis using a growth chamber.

Digital broadcast in Korea being under way for almost 10 years and due by the end of 2012 is greatly changing the style of life. Having such a potential impact on life means it hardly permits any mistake in cooperated works of viewers, broadcasters, manufacturers and government for smooth transition. Now the early phase of digital transition is capturing the viewers with unseen features like HDTV, interactive data broadcasting, and multimedia service. But what will really thrill us is still to come with its capability far beyond high definition and interactivity.
