  • In this study, we have analyzed the cost of korea high-speed rail project. The predicted cost in planning phase and adjustment data to 5th year are collected. Then, predicted cost is compared with adjustment in year/item/system base. We make a project history table for criteria to review project history and research & development activity. We have developed CBS(cost breakdown structure) and allocated adjustment data to them. It is shown that cost prediction related to research St development activity in planning phase is relatively correct.

  • Due to the rapid advancement of technologies, a growing number of innovative products with a short life-cycle have been introduced to the market. As the life-cycles of such products are shorter than those of durable goods, the demand variation during the life-cycle adds to the difficulty of inventory management. Traditional inventory planning models and techniques mostly deal with products that have long life-cycles. The assumptions on the demand pattern and subsequent solution approaches are generally, not suitable for dealing with products with short life-cycles. In this research, inventory replenishment problems based on the logistic demand model are formulated and solved to facilitate the management of products with short life-cycles. An extended Wagner- Whitin approach is used to determine the replenishment cycle, schedules and lot-sizes.

  • Many attention have been paid to the innovative technologies aiming at the paradigm shift such as the modular housing, pre-fabrication method, or long-life housing. Despite the government's efforts to diffuse the long-life housing, few case gained the high grades by applying various technologies required in the Long-life Housing Certification System. The concerns of cost increase and low profit are the main reason why most of the construction firms avoid the adoption of long-life housing. In this study, the variations of construction costs were analyzed according to the grades in the Long-life Housing Certification System. The results of this study will help the decision makers find the optimal solution in employing the long-life housing technologies during planning.
