The subjects were married women from the five year data of the Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women and Family (KLoWF). Data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, structural equational models, and Sobel test with SPSS software ver. 23.0, and Amos software ver. 23.0. The findings are as follows. First, gender role attitude had a direct effect on life stress, but work family balance had no significant effect on life stress. Second, marital intimacy mediated between gender role attitude, work family balance, and life stress. In conclusion, the results can be used as basic data to prevent life stress in married career women and increase marital intimacy.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of appearance stress, job-seeking stress, and college life stress on eating attitude in nursing students. Methods: Data were collected in September and October of 2017. A total of 153 fourth-year nursing students were included in the analysis. Descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, correlation and multiple regression analysis were conducted using SAS 9.2. Results: The mean score for eating attitude was 2.71±0.56. From the univariate analysis, appearance, job-seeking, and college life stress scores were all significantly related to eating attitude (r=.26, .35, .30 respectively, and p for all <.001). After controlling for covariates, job-seeking stress and college life stress were significantly related to eating attitude (β=.20 and 0.17 respectively, and p=.005 and .024 respectively). Among the covariates, experience of diet and physical anxiety were significantly associated with eating behavior (β=.33 and .24 respectively, and p<.001 and .008 respectively). Conclusion: Job-seeking stress had the biggest influence on eating attitude, followed by college life stress. Therefore, in order to promote healthy eating attitudes in fourth-year nursing students, preventive measures focusing on decreasing job-seeking stress should be considered as a top priority.

Methods: Nursing students from two universities in J province participated in this study. The descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe test and Pearson's correlation coefficient were used to analyse the data. Results: The nursing students' knowledge of the withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment was 7.42 out of 16. The participants' attitude toward the withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment was 50.03 out of 95 which was 2.64 in its mean rating. Regarding their knowledge of the withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment, nursing students whose family members experienced the life-sustaining treatment had significantly higher knowledge than those students whose not (p<.001). Those participants who support patients or their families' right to decide the withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment had positive attitude toward the withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment (p=.007). In addition, the knowledge of and attitude toward the withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment showed significant correlations (r=.639, p<.001). Conclusion: The findings of this study suggest that systematic and professional education is needed for nursing students to equip positive attitude toward the withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment in nursing practice.

  • Purpose: This study determined acculturative stress' effect on the life satisfaction of multicultural adolescents based on Roy's Adaptation Model and some earlier studies. Further, it examined the sequential multiple mediating effects of bicultural acceptance attitude, self-esteem, and social withdrawal on life satisfaction. Methods: Participants included 1,163 multicultural adolescents who participated in the sixth Multicultural Adolescents Panel Study. A hypothesis test was conducted using Hayes' Process Macro Model 81. Results: Life satisfaction increased with a decline in acculturative stress. Each of bicultural acceptance attitude, self-esteem, and social withdrawal had a single mediating effect on the relationship between acculturative stress and life satisfaction in multicultural adolescents. The sequential multiple mediating effects of bicultural acceptance attitude and self-esteem were confirmed significant after their impact on the relationship between acculturative stress and life satisfaction was analyzed. Bicultural acceptance attitude and social withdrawal were found to have a significant sequential multiple mediating effect on the relationship, as well. Conclusion: This study's results demonstrate that acculturative stress reduction is critical to improving multicultural adolescents' life satisfaction. Bicultural acceptance attitude, self-esteem, and social withdrawal have a single mediating or sequential multiple mediating effect on the relationship between multicultural adolescents' acculturative stress and life satisfaction. The findings, which highlight mediating effects, indicate that by increasing bicultural acceptance attitude and self-esteem, and reducing social withdrawal, multicultural adolescents' life satisfaction can be improved.

Methods: 139 nursing students were selected from the school of nursing of a single university. Questionnaires were used as measurement tools to measure their good death recognition, attitude towards death & towards withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment. The degree of good death recognition, attitude towards death & towards withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Correlation between variables was analyzed using Pearson's correlation coefficient and factors influencing the attitude towards withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment using multiple linear regression. Results: Attitude towards withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment was significantly positively correlated with good death recognition(r=.312, p=.000). As a result of multiple linear regression, good death recognition significantly influenced (β=.312, p=.000), accounting for 8.5% of the variance in attitude towards withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment. • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the predictors of quality of life for elders in Korea. Method: The participants were 348 older persons selected by convenience sampling in Y city. Data were collected from September 22 to October 23, 2008 when 348 elders completed a questionnaire which included the Leisure Attitude Scale by Raghep and Beard (1982), Leisure Competence Questionnaire by Witt and Ellis (1987) and the Quality of Life Questionnaire by Mckenna (2001). Cronbach alphas scores for Korean translation of the questionnaires were .85, .90 and .79 respectively. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS Win 14.0 statistics program. Results: The scores for quality of life showed significant positive correlations with the scores for leisure attitude (r=.603, p<.001) and leisure competence (r=.703, p<.001). Leisure competence, leisure attitude, and education were significant predictors and accounted for 54.4% of the variance in quality of life in the elders. Conclusion: The findings suggest that high leisure competence and positive leisure attitude with learning opportunities will be helpful to promote a better quality of life for elders.
