This study aims to identify challenges faced by the schools participating in the 2006 School Library Revitalization Project so as to incorporate them in the next Year's plan, which is the last rear of the Phase one of the project, as well as in designing the phase two. By doing so, it seeks to contribute to enhancing effectiveness of the School Library Revitalization Project conducted by the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development(MOEHRD), the Republic of Korea.

For the public library reading revitalization in this study it is to review program development examples which is differentiated by own library from the existing reading education and reading program. Based on the specialized program examples it intended suggesting a method of reading revitalization, after reviewing enlarged specialized function in the existing public library function, and analyzing related the reading activity status concerning with Seoul city public library, 'One Library One Book Reading' activity and U. S. A public library. Also, this study suggested future public library reading revitalization through the specialized quality service program development and construction related reading.

This study aims to investigate the problems in conducting the first year project of a five-year school library revitalization project and to suggest the alterative to the present system for the following years. The method of evaluation was to visit the 16 local ministries of education and to interview the government school inspectors, school principals, teachers-in-chief, teacher librarians and parents. The evaluation was conducted based on the following criteria； school library facilities and increase in collection, enrichment of education W through school library, location of manpower and enhancement of profession and building the cooperation system with the private and public sectors. Additionally, school library service training and library support system were evaluated.

By doing so, it seeks to contribute to enhancing effectiveness of the School Library Revitalization Project conducted by the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development(MOEHRD), the Republic of Korea. The second segment of the research consists of the pub)ic survey in 1,281 project schools(2005) and 1,098 project schools(2006) to assess overall performance of the project. The target group is divided into five categories of school inspectors, principals, teachers, school librarians, and students.

This paper investigates the impact of the School Library Revitalization Project of the Daegu Metropolitan City. The Project started in 2003, and by 2009 it revitalized 374 school libraries or 86% of all school libraries in Daegu. Utilizing statistical analysis and questionnaires, this research is divided into two parts. Part 1 analyzes the progress of annual budgets, facilities, collection, personnel, and the circulation data of the libraries. The other part surveys the following: the effects and the satisfaction level of the Project; the teacher's perception of the library's functions; the qualification of the libraries' personnel; the initiatives for developing the library, policy and future plans of the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education for the libraries. Three groups participated in the survey: principals, class teachers, and teacher librarians.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the survey and prove the role and impact of teacher librarian's professionalism on the School Libraries Revitalization. The samples of the survey, consisted 96 school libraries in Kyungbuk Province, were revitalized before 2005 by School Library Revitalization Project of Ministry of Education and Human Resources, Korea. The samples were divided into two groups; the one group consisted of 47 libraries managed by teacher librarian, and the other group consisted of 49 libraries which were managed by class teachers who are not majored in Library Science. The questionnaires were mainly conducted by survey but interview, telephone, and e-mail method also used. The state of the art of the library management, including budget, acquisition, cataloging, collection management, circulation, information technology, and the services for the faculties and students between two groups were analyzed and compared. The results showed that teacher librarian group offers more user-tailored and intensive services than class teacher group.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the three-year results and impact of a school library revitalization project. The data were collected using school library surveys, questionnaires, and group interviews. The analyses particularly focused on examining the impact of library schedules, programs, collections and uses on the school library's academic achievements. The analyses revealed that the school library uses and the recognition of their importance were improved significantly through school library establishment and remodelling and that school libraries could positively influence students' academic achievements, as shown by studies of the U.S. school libraries. Due to the lack of library collections and professionals, however, it is desired to carry out a further research in this area.

This study is to examine the effect of book festivals on personal reading habituation and library revitalization. The survey of participants of book festivals is conducted. As a result, it appears that participation of book festivals has a impact on personal reading habituation and recognition of and using library. The followings are results of this survey: recognition of participants about book festivals has a impact on personal reading habituation and recognition of library and using library, but the effect(2.1~4.7%) is slight; Satisfaction of book fair(display and selling booths) has a impact on personal reading habituation(30.1%); Satisfaction of experience booths has a impact on recognition of library(22.4%) and using library(26.4%); Satisfaction of participating in book festivals also has a impact on participant's reading habituation(24.5%), recognition of library(20.1%) and using library(27.5%).

In 2nd chapter; thesis of conceptive model of children's library digital material room. In 3rd Chapter: Present status analysis of N. W. Children's library digital material room operation, and analysis of using and demand of public school 100 pupils. In 4th Chapter : Suggesting conclusion of revitalization of children's library digital material room based on utilization and demand appeared through this study.

The research is intended to establish the importance of background knowledge in reading process and suggest a revitalization plan for the schema for reading education. The reading process as fundamental research and the schema conception have been studied and the present situation of reading education in the school libraries has been inspected. This research reviewed the reading strategies which school libraries require for the revitalization of the schema and based on this data, a method of SQ3R reading has been applied and a class model developed. As an outcome, a guidance plan for instruction was proposed and learning-activity materials applying graphic organizer have been produced. Subsequently, a class in school library was conducted. Following the outcome of the class and an expert's review of the class model, this research has developed a class model for the revitalization of the schema for reading education in school libraries.
