The purpose of the research is to discuss the directions of university library services development applying virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) technologies and contents. In order to achieve the goal, the research investigated university librarians' awareness and demands regarding to applying VR/AR technologies and contents to university library services. The following questions are asked via online survey method to university librarians: what kinds of necessity and awareness about VR/AR technologies they have, what kinds of competency and environment (infrastructure) are required for the services, and how to conduct continuing education for service development, etc. On the basis of the survey results, the research suggested the matters to be noted when applying VR/AR technologies and contents to university library services. Furthermore, the contents and strategies to be considered and prepared when developing a library program using VR/AR technologies and contents were discussed and follow-up research topics were suggested.

The purpose of this study is to suggest for utilization of supporters to promote public libraries. To achieve the study purpose, in-depth interview with nine public library supporters of two public libraries was conducted. The data were analyzed using a qualitative method. The order in which the data analyzed is as follows: segmenting, first coding, in-depth coding, and theme discovery. According to the study results, the followings were suggested for the operation of public library supporters: 1) needed to assign roles based on supporters' capabilities and personal characteristic, 2) needed proactive role by the librarian in charge, 3) needed proactive role by the public library, 4) needed adequate rewards, 5) needed prior education about the public library.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of school library reading classes on the convergence literacy of adolescents based on the convergence reading education model. To achieve this, elements of convergence education for future-oriented competence were derived from the level of reading education based on previous studies and literature, and the effectiveness of education was measured by conducting a convergence literacy test targeting 50 general high school students. In this study, reading classes and tests were conducted over 12 sessions from April 2022 to November 2022, and the study participants were divided into two groups, and convergence reading education and self-reading education were applied respectively. The analysis results of this study are as follows. First, It was verified that there was a significant difference in the promotion of convergent literacy of adolescents according to the method of reading education. Second, it was verified that convergence reading education had a significant effect on convergence literacy of adolescents such as convergence, creativity, self-direction and communication ability. Third, as a result of verifying whether learning motivation plays a mediating role in convergence reading education influencing convergent literacy, learning motivation played a partial mediating role and had an indirect effect on creativity, self-direction, and communication ability between convergence reading education and convergence literacy, but showed no significant mediating effect on convergence ability.

Presidential archives have higher historical value than other public documentaries. It is a reliable documentary reflecting aspects of contemporary life and has high value and availability in the education field. This study suggests how to intensify the role as an intelligence service of presidential archives and how to develop the utilized-Presidential Archives mobile education contents in G-learning environments to lead the positive awareness on Presidential archives. After suggesting the 7 levels methods about the development of mobile education contents using presidential archives in G-learning environments, This study shows the case of the applied educational contents on the subject of $5^{th}$ grade at the elementary school. 7 levels methods include pre-planning, pre-design, selecting presidential records, presidential records story-telling, making the storyboard, implementing a game, sharing and assess.

The purpose of this study is to develop a course with project-based teaming method for LIS education and to examine the effects of this method on improvement of problem solving and self-directed learning ability of LIS undergraduate students. The research design was one-group pretest-posttest design in quasi-experimental research. The data were collected from 23 LIS undergraduate students and analyzed by paired t-test with SPSS. The result demonstrated that project-based learning method has an significant effect on improvement of problem solving and self-directed learning ability of LIS undergraduate students.

Librarian certification in Korea is issued by the LIS Departments, the Academy of Librarianship, and the Academic Credit Bank system; however, it has been pointed out that there is a limit to how much these nurture high quality librarians, because the education quality and contents varies from education institutions and there is no verification method for certification issued by educational programs. Therefore, this study investigated certification systems of academic or training programs that are conducted at home and abroad, analyzed how the certification systems are oriented, what the purpose and criteria of the certification systems are, and what the content of assessment is. As a result of this investigation, several areas needing change were identified which if adopted can improve the system. These included making amendments to the library laws related to the certification system, substantially revising the relevant enforcement ordinance, making changes to the selection of the Certification authority, establishing certification standards and procedures, developing contents related to document examination and due diligence audits, rating the effects of the certification system, and setting standards. Improving the Librarian Certification System has been discussed over the past 20 years and should not be delayed any longer because of the university structural reform of the current government, the rapid rise of the qualified librarians, decreasing employment due to the human resources supply and demand imbalances, all of which has resulted in a survival crisis of four-year Department of Library and Information Science.

This study is to develop knowledge base system for query extension to the user oriented information retrieval. This study has survey the theories of the concept-based information retrieval method and statistic based information retrieval method. In the construction method of knowledge base, the common hypothesis is that the emergence of related term is the frequency of simultaneous emergence of a set of documents. Using the subject index file algorithms and the 'and' operator of boolean logic based on this hypothesis, this study builds the knowledge base. In this research experiment, a subject of knowledge base is education. Using the book of the Introduction to Education, two experimental knowledge base systems is constructed by the different indexing method. One system has constructed by controlled language indexing method, and another system has constructed by natural language indexing method. The performance of two knowledge base system is evaluated.

The major purpose of this study is to scrutinize and analyze various factors in numerous aspects of two different library systems for the visually handicapped, namely braille library and a special section for the visually handicapped in the public library system. The analyses may provide theoretical and conceptual framework on which strategies to enhance services for the visually handicapped is to be developed. More specifically, this study seeks (1) to examine a linkage between the degree of maintenance of staffs, collections, and equipment and the level of satisfactions of librarians and (2) to come up with more effective mechanisms of welfare services for the visually handicapped in each library system. This research is qualitative-descriptive and uses interview method. Fourteen libraries throughout the nation (4 public libraries with a reading room for the visually handicapped and 8 braille libraries) which had been in operation more than one year were selected as subjects for the research. Findings and results of the analyses are summarized as follows : 1. There seems to be general consensus that each of public and braille library has significant but, to a certain extent, different roles to play in order to enhance library services for the visually handicapped. Recruitment of qualified librarians, increase of the volume of collection, and enlargement of reading room space are noted as immediate concerns for the former. For the latter, it was suggested that increase of the number of staff for publishing, securing more equipments for pulication in braille, and wider scope as well as more variety of publications are the pressing problems at hand. 2. Both public and braille library employ one librarian for the visually handicapped who is required to have educational background in library science and special education. In addition, one must have competence in reading braille types. 3. Majority of reading rooms in those libraries is so small in physical aspect that size and number of seats are 66m2 and 15 seats respectively because circulation services are mainly in use due to the problem of inaccessibility which is commonly suffered by the visually handicapped. 4. Library services for the visually handicapped are heavily concentrated upon the large urban area. In fact, most of braille libraries are located in Seoul whereas a reading room for the visually handicapped in the public library system are exclusively placed in the large cities such as Inchon, Taejon, and Taegu. 5. All of the public library is neither equipped with necessary facilities to publish in braille nor secured supporting instruments which may facilitate library use for the visually handicapped. On the contrary, most of braille libraries are equipped with arrangements to publish in braille despite supporting devices are gererally lacking. 6. Consequently, provision of services In the public library is largely confined to reading and circulation of materials purchased from braille libraries while major task of braille libraries centers around publication and distributions of the reading materials in braille.

TIP technology enables navigation of the internal contents of images by extracting geometry information from two-dimensional drawing or a picture and generating three-dimensional effects from extracted information. The technology can be applied to a variety of practical fields including game, entertainment, education, public relations and so on. This paper proposes extended application of TIP technology and realization method for smart devices using OpenGL ES Library for Android platform. Considering problems associated with a foreground object extraction, the proposed method uses vanishing points chosen by the user to facilitate more realistic scene configuration. Then, method acquires three-dimensional background model using OpenGL ES Library, develops three-dimensional virtual space and enables image navigation via camera viewpoint conversion. The experimental image is made on Android 2.1 and OpenGL ES 1.0 using the image taken on devices built on the Android platform. Thus, the proposed technology can be implemented to various smart devices built on the Android platform at lower cost and in less time.

Media improvisation among lecturers in colleges is inevitable because of insufficient media resources for utilization. The study investigated media improvisation in the state -owned colleges of education in the South-West, Nigeria. The study is anchored on Media Richness Theory. Stratified sampling technique was adopted to select 812 lecturers. Media improvisation scale (r = .71) was used for data collection and T-test statistical method was adopted for data analysis. The result showed that there was no significant differences between media improvisation of Art/Social Science and Science lecturers (Crit - t = 1.96, Cal. t = 821, df = 278, p>.05) and that of lecturers in the School of Art/Social Sciences and Vocational/Technical Education (Crit. t = 1.96, Cal. t = .136, df = 276, p>.05). Significant difference did not exit between that of the Schools of Languages and Education (Crit. t = 1.96, Cal. t = 1.946, dif. = 288 p<.05) . It is recommended that media improvisation of lecturers in schools should be encouraged and improved upon.
