For this purpose, this study analyzed 323 papers of library management area among the library and information science papers which have been published from 2014 to 2020 at the four academic journals of the National Research Foundation of Korea. As a result, it was found that 46 papers in library management had been produced annually. The amount of papers in library management has increased, compared to 36 papers annually published which were checked at the previous study. The analysis on the research trends of sub-fields of library management showed that high research performance has been done at the sub-fields like 'general management', 'human resource management', 'measurement and evaluation'. However, there has still been less performance in the sub-fields like 'marketing', 'organization management', 'budget management', which was also shown at the previous study.

  • In this study, we constructed a system to operating and manage the resources of the Smart Library Reading Room automatically using the Internet of things. The persistent problem of smart library or unattended library is electric energy waste and efficient seat management. The electricity and seat layout management method of the existing library reading room is being treated as concentrated management in the central system. However, this approach results in wasting electricity and seats do not provide a fair opportunity for each user. In this study, IoT sensor was used to turn off electricity and empty seat for about 20 minutes, so that it could be marked as vacant and managed efficiently, so that opportunities for seats were evenly maintained. In the future, we will improve this and construct a model in the reading room of actual village library or school library, and analyze and reflect the result.

  • Library classification schedule IS based on the classification theory, principle and the system of the classification of science. It should be consisted of the basic principle of library classification which should use the library materials effectively. Continuous study and research on the each subject field of the discipline are essential for keeping up with the transformation of each learning field and the change of modern society. In this paper, I studied comparatively the sections and subsections of the management in KDC, DDC and NDC and reviewed the academic systems of each subject area in the management. I tried to compare the relationship beween the structure of library classifications and academic systems for the more specialized subsections of the management. KDC is influenced by the principle and structure of DDC, but I found that KDC is more similar to NDC than DDC in the sections and subsections of the management. Being un sufficient of subsections of KDC and NDC, they are not enough for the expansion and specialization of the subsections in the management. DDC is necessary to re-schedule for the proper expansion of 650 and 658 with reflection of the importance of that sections and academic systems. In this study, I adoped 9 sections of management, (1) Management policy (2) Administrative organization (3) Personnel (4) Office management and business information management (5) Marketing (6) Financial management (7) Production management (8) Accounting (9) International management. It would be necessary for us to study continuously about the specilized subsubsections of the management for the more professional classification.

  • This study seeks to develop a curriculum operating model for Korean Library and Information Science, based on investigations into LIS curricula at home and abroad. Standard courses that can be applied to this model were also proposed. This study comprehensively analyzed the contents of domestic and foreign curricula and surveyed current librarians in all types of library fields. As a result, this study proposed required courses, core courses, and elective courses. Six core LIS courses are: Classification & Cataloging Practice, Subject Information Resources, Collection Development, Digital Library, Introduction to Bibliography, and Introduction to Archive Management. Twenty selective LIS courses include: the General Library and Information Science area (Cultural History of Information, Information Society and Library, Library and Copyright, Research Methods in Library and Information Science), the Information Organization area (Metadata Fundamentals, KORMARC Practice), the Information Services area (Information Literacy Instruction, Reading Guidance, Information User Study), the Library and Information Center Management area (Library Management, including management for different kinds of libraries, Library Information Cooperator, Library Marketing, Non-book Material and Multimedia Management (Contents Management), the Information Science area (Database Management, including Web DB Management, Indexing and Abstracting, Introduction to Information Science, Understanding Information Science, Automated System of Library, Library Information Network), and the Archival Science area (Preservation Management).
