This study developed a statistical thinking level with constructs framework from based on Jones, Thornton, Langrall, & Mooney (2000) to analyze the 6th graders' thinking level shown on their survey activities. It was modified by 5 constructs framework such as collecting, describing, organizing, representing, and analyzing and interpreting data with four thinking levels, which represent a continuum from idiosyncratic to analytic reasoning. As a result, among four levels such as idiosyncratic level (level 1), transitional level (level 2), quantitative level (level 3), and analytical level (level 4), levels of two through four are shown on statistical thinking levels in this study.
This study investigates levels of thinking of elementary and middle school students doing their tasks of explaining and dealing with variability. According to results, on the task of explaining variability in the measurement settings five levels of thinking were identified: a lack of understanding of explanation of the causes, an insufficient understanding of the causes, an offer of physical causes, consideration of unexplained causes as the source of variability, and consideration of unexplained causes as quasi-chance variability. Also, in the chance settings five levels of thinking were identified: a lack of understanding of explanation of the causes, an insufficient understanding of the causes, an offer of physical causes, recognition of chance variability, and consideration of causes of distribution. On the task of dealing with variability in both the measurement and chance settings five levels of thinking were identified: a lack of understanding of dealing with variability, no physical control and improper statistical control, no physical control and proper statistical control, physical control and improper statistical control, and physical control and proper statistical control.
This study compared levels of mathematically talented students' statistical thinking with those of non-talented students in statistical modeling and sampling distribution understanding. t tests were conducted to test for statistically significant differences between mathematically gifted students and non-gifted students. In case of statistical modeling, for both of elementary and middle school graders, the t tests show that there is a statistically significant difference between mathematically gifted students and non-gifted students. Table of frequencies of each level, however, shows that levels of mathematically gifted students' thinking were not distributed at the high levels but were overlapped with those of non-gifted students. A similar tendency is also present in sampling distribution understanding. These results are thought-provoking results in statistics instruction for mathematically talented students.
This study compared levels of mathematically talented students' statistical thinking with those of non-talented students in the noticing of statistical variability. t tests were conducted to test for statistically significant differences between mathematically gifted students and non-gifted students. Results for the t-test shows that there is no difference between the TE students' and NE students' noticing of variability in the measurement settings. Meanwhile, the t-test results also show that there is a difference between the TM students' and NM students' noticing of variability in the both measurement and chance settings. Table of frequencies of each level, however, shows that levels of mathematically gifted students' thinking were not distributed at the high levels but were overlapped with those of non-gifted students. These results are thought-provoking results in statistics instruction for mathematically talented students.

This study was a cross-sectional descriptive survey study that confirms the effect on subjects that prefer clinical practice in order to prepare basic data for efficient clinical practice guidance for nursing college students. The study participants were 201 students attending C University, and the data collection period was from October 1 to October 15, 2022. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 18.0 as descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, Chi square test, ANOVA test, and Multiple regression test. As a result of the analysis, it was found that clinical decision-making and critical thinking were correlated under the statistical significance level (r=.730, p<0.01). The most favorite clinical practice department was community nursing, and male students preferred community nursing the most (Male=45.6%, χ2=.000), female students were found to prefer similar levels of practical subjects with child nursing , adult nursing, and maternal nursing(χ2=000).Clinical decision-making was found to be higher in students who preferred community nursing at a statistical significance level than those who preferred child nursing (F=4.91, p<0.01). Critical thinking was higher among students who preferred adult nursing than those who preferred other subjects (F=4.65, p<0.01). Through the analysis results, it was found that general characteristics vary, but clinical decision-making ability and critical thinking affect the preference of clinical practice subjects. Therefore, based on the results of this study, the professor of clinical practice suggests the development of a program to foster clinical decision-making and critical thinking to make students interested in clinical practice subjects.
Based on visual Thinking theory, VR(virtual reality) game changes the traditional form of memory and maps the content into game elements to realize the immersive spatial memory mode. This paper analyzes the influencing factors of game design and system function construction. This paper proposes a hypothesis: with the help of visual thinking theory, VR game is helpful to improve learners' visual memory, and carries out research. The experiment sets different levels of game through empirical research and case analysis of memory flip game. For example, when judging two random cards. If the pictures are the same, it will be judged as the correct combination; if they are different, the two cards will be restored to the original state. The results are analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis and AMOS data analysis. The results show that game content using the concept of "Memory Palace", which can improve the accuracy of memory. We conclude that the use of spatial localization characteristics in flip games combining visual thinking can improve users' memory by helping users memorize and organize information in a Virtual environment, which means VR games have strong feasibility and effectiveness in improving memory.
Purpose: The purpose of the study is to analyze the effects that Flipped Learning Method has on a college student's self directed learning ability, critical thinking disposition, learning motivation, and learning satisfaction, and determine its effectiveness as a new pedagogical approach. Methods: The survey was conducted on dental technology students. The collected data was analyzed by the statistical program SPSS 21.0. The results were analyzed by reliability, frequency, t-test. To test for significance on each item, p<0.05 has been decided as a standard. Results: According to the analysis, the student who attended a class that utilized Flipped Learning Method was found to have higher levels of self directed learning ability, critical thinking disposition, learning motivation, and learning satisfaction than a student who attended a class that did not utilize such a method. Conclusion: The study results show that, in order to enhance students' self directed learning ability, critical thinking disposition, learning motivation, and learning satisfaction and to improve the quality of class instruction, it may be necessary that Flipped Learning Method be adopted more widely and recommended more strongly. Such changes will promote a long term improvement in educational environments and play a major role in strengthening students' abilities.
The purpose of this study was to explore North Korean immigrant elementary students' cognitive and affective characteristics related to science education. A total of 68 North Korean immigrant students enrolled in 3 to 6 grades and 133 South Korean students in 4 and 6 grades in 3 South Korean elementary schools participated in the study. A short version of Group Assessment of Logical Thinking(GALT) was used to investigate the students' levels of logical thinking, and the Enjoyment of Science Lessons Scale(ESLS) of the Test of Science Related Attitudes(TOSRA) was administrated to examine their attitudes towards science lessons. The statistical analysis of data revealed that the level of logical thinking of the North Korean immigrant elementary students was very low and that this was also the case for the South Korean students. Especially, the mean score of logical thinking of the North Korean immigrant 6 graders was much lower when compared with that of the South Korean counterparts. For both the North Korean immigrant students and South Korean students, the enjoyment of science lessons decreased as they progressed through higher grades. This decreasing trend, however, turned out to be more serious in the South Korean elementary students. Based on these results, suggestions were presented to help successful science learning of North Korean immigrant elementary students.
We took note of the fact that there were not many studies on improvement of mathematics learning in the field of statistics for the minority students from the families who belonged to the Low-SES. This study was to help them understand the concepts and principles of mathematics, motivate them for mathematics learning, and have them feel familiar with it. The subjects were 12 students from the low-SES families among the sophomores of 00 High School in Gyeonggi-do. Although it could not be achieved effectively in the short-term of learning for the slow learners, their understanding of basic concepts and confidence, interests and concerns in statistical learning were remarkably changed, compared to their work in the beginning period. Our discourse classes using various topics and examples were well perceived by the students whose performance was improved up to the 3rd thinking level of Mooney's framework. Also, a meaningful instructional model for slow learners(IMSL) was found through the discourse.

The CAI (Computer-Assisted Instruction) system for science teaching has been increasing both in quantity and in quality during the last two decades. However, science learning by computer has not played a leading role in the science teaching process. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of tutorial CAI programs according to the learner's characteristics such as sex, inquiry skills, attitudes toward science subject, logical thinking skills, achievement motivation, science content achievement in science teaching. One group pretest-posttest design was used as an experimental design. The three tutorial science CAI programs were used for thirty males and females selected in grade eight. According to the analysis of CAI achievement scores the female students showed significantly higher (P<0.05) than the male students. Also, one-way analysis of variance was used to investigate the effects of interaction between sex and achievement motivation. The significant difference on the effects of interaction between sex and achievement motivation has not found. The effects of tutorial CAI between logical thinking skills, attitudes toward science subject, inquiry skills, achievement motivation, science content achievement according to upper and lower levels were investigated by using the statistical analysis of one-way ANOVA. The results indicate that tutorial CAI might provides a good opportunities for the improvement of science achievement to the lower level students of attitudes toward science subject, inquiry skills, science content achievement.
