밀폐형 식물생산시스템에서 백색 LED를 이용한 광도와 광주기에 따른 상추의 생장 (Growth of Lettuce in Closed-Type Plant Production System as Affected by Light Intensity and Photoperiod under Influence of White LED Light)

  • 본 실험은 식물공장시스템에서 인공광원인 백색 LED의 광도와 광주기에 따른 '선홍적축면'의 생육조건을 구명하고자 수행하였다. 그리고 각각의 챔버에 백색 LED를 설치 후 완전임의배치법으로 $20cm{\times}20cm$ 간격으로 재식하였다. 광도는 100, 200, $300{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$로 처리하였고, 광주기는 12/12, 18/6, 24/0(명기/암기)으로 처리하였다. 온도는 $21{\pm}2^{\circ}C$, 상대습도는 $60{\pm}10%$로 조절하여 22일간 재배하였다. 엽폭과 엽장, 생체중과 건물중, 총 안토시아닌 함량은 24/0(명기/암기) 처리에서 좋았다. 최대근장, 생체중과 건물중, 엽수는 100, $300{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$보다 $200{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$ 처리에서 좋았다. 엽록소는 광주기 18/6과 24/0 처리 보다 12/12(명기/암기) 처리에서 높았다. 본 실험의 결과로 광도는 200, $300{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$, 광주기는 12/12 또는 18/6(명기/암기) 처리를 하는 것이 좋을 것으로 판단된다.

  • 도시근교(都市近郊)의 중김속오양(重金屬汚梁)의 실태(實態)를 조사(調査)하고져 일차적으로 엽근채류(葉根菜類)인 상치, 쑥갓, 잎파, 배추, 무(4개품종(個品種))를 선정하여 식물(植物)의 부위(部位), 재배시기(栽培時期) 그리고 매립후(埋立後)의 경작년도(耕作年度)에 따라 중김속(重金屬)(Zn, Cu, Pb, Cd)의 함양(含量)을 조사(調査)한 바 다음과 같은 결과(結果)를 얻었기에 보고(報告)하는 바이다. 1) 무우와 잎파는 뿌리에 높은 함량을 보이는 반면, 배추와 쑥갓에서는 잎에 중김속함량(重金屬含量)이 높았다. 2) 상치의 경우 겨울에 중김속함량이 가장 높았고 봄과 가을간(間)에는 차리(差異)가 없었다. 무우(잎)와 시금치는 봄과 가을만 조사(調査)했는데 이들 상호간(相互間)에는 함량(含量)의 차리(差異)가 없었다. 3) 매립후(埋立後) 1,3,5년된 땅에서 상치를 재배(栽培)하여 중김속(重金屬)의 함량(含量)을 비교(比較)한 결과 차리(差異)를 발견(發見)치 못했다. 4) 조사(調査)된 중김속(重金屬)의 합량(合量)은 인체에 위험하지는 않았다.

아플라톡신 $B_1$과 4-NQO에 대한 녹황색 채소류의 항돌연변이 효과 (Antimutagenic Effect of Green-Yellow Vegetables toward Aflatoxin $B_1$, and 4-Nitroquinoline-1-oxide)

  • 아플라톡신 B$_1$과 4-NQO의 돌연변이 유발성에 미치는 녹황색 채소류의 메탄올 추출물과 쥬스들의 항돌연변이 효과를 검토하였다. Salmonella typhimurium TA98과 TA100을 이용한 Ames실험계를 사용하였는데 아플라톡신 B$_1$에 대해 채소류의 메탄올 추출물 중에는 들깻잎, 상치, 브로콜리, 쑥갓, 미나리, 들미나리, 붉은고추, 고추잎, 비름, 시금치, 무 등이 큰 항돌연변이성을 나타내었다 (p< 0.01). 이 경우 시험시료 중 약 50% 정도가 저해 효과를 나타내었지만, direct mutagen인 4-NQO에서는 실험 시료 27종중 25종류(93%)에서 항돌연변이성이 관찰되었다 (p<0.01, 0.05). 이중 60%이상 저해효과를 나타낸 시료는 양배추, 케일, 상치, 브로콜리, 갓, 풋고추, 피망, 시금치, 비름, 콩나물, 애호박이었다. 한편 쥬스로 부터 아플라톡신 B$_1$에 대해 항돌연변이 효과를 나타낸 채소류는 들깻잎, 들미나리, 시금치, 양배추로써 각각 용량 의존적으로 (50~500${\mu}\ell$/plate)농도의 증가에 따라 그 저해도가 크게 증가하였다. 한편 오이와 당근은 농도를 높여도 큰 저해효과는 관찰되지 않았다.

학교 급식용 친환경 및 일반농법 채소류의 미생물적 품질 비교 (The Microbiological Quality of Environmentally Friendly and Ordinary Agricultural Vegetables Used in a School Foodservices)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine basic information on the microbiological quality of environmentally friendly vegetables used in school foodservices. Comparisons were made on the microbiological quality of eight different kinds of vegetables grown by environmentally friendly agricultural methods and ordinary agricultural methods to determine if there were significant differences. In the raw materials, aerobic plate counts were as follows: lettuce 4.58~7.43 log CFU/g, winter plowing chinese cabbage 5.61~7.36 log CFU/g, Korean leek 5.81 log CFU/g to TNTC (too numerous to Count), cabbage 5.93~6.43 log CFU/g, sesame leaves 3.15~5.23 log CFU/g, cucumber 5.00~5.79 log CFU/g, cherry tomato 2.96~5.40 log CFU/g, paprika 1.30~3.52 log CFU/g. In the comparison of the microbiological quality between environmentally friendly and ordinary agricultural vegetables, their acceptable ratio was the same (81.3%) and the mean aerobic plate counts was not significantly different. In the comparison of the microbiological quality between the leafy vegetables and the fruity vegetables, the fruity vegetables had a 100% acceptable ratio regardless of the agricultural method used to grow them, while the leafy vegetables had an acceptable ratio of 70%. In terms of the aerobic plate counts, the leafy vegetables had significantly higher counts; the leafy vegetables 5.87${\pm}$1.18 log CFU/g, the fruity vegetables 4.12${\pm}$1.54 log CFU/g.

Freeze Tolerance Enhanced by Antifreeze Protein in Plant

  • When plants are exposed to subfreezing temperatures ice crystals are forming within extracelluar space in leaves. The growth of ice crystal is closely related to the degree of freezing injury. It was shown that an antifreeze protein binds to an ice nucleator through hydrogen bonds to prevent growth of ice crystal and also reduces freezing damage. The antifreeze proteins in plants are similar to PR proteins but only the PR proteins induced upon cold acclimation were shown to have dual functions in antifreezing as well as antifungal activities. Three of the genes encoded for CLP, GLP, and TLP were isolated from barley and Kentucky bluegrass based on amino acid sequence revealed after purification and low temperature-inducibility as shown in analysis of the protein. The deduced amino acid of the genes cloned showed a signal for secretion into extracellular space where the antifreezing activity sup-posed to work. The western analysis using the antisera raised against the antifreeze proteins showed a positive correlation between the amount of the protein and the level of freeze tolerance among different cultivars of barely. Besides it was revealed that TLP is responsible for a freeze tolerance induced by a treatment of trinexapac ethyl in Kentucky bluegrass. Analysis of an overwintering wild rice, Oryza rufipogon also showed that an acquisition of freeze tolerance relied on accumulation of the protein similar to CLP. The more direct evidence for the role of CLP in freeze tolerance was made with the analysis of the transgenic tobacco showing extracellular accumulation of CLP and enhanced freeze tolerance measured by amount of ion leakage and rate of photosynthetic electron transport upon freezing. These antifreeze proteins genes will be good candidates for transformation into crops such as lettuce and strawberry to develop into the new crops capable of freeze-storage and such as rose and grape to enhance a freeze tolerance for a safe survival during winter.

간접가온 건조방식의 건조시설을 이용한 하수슬러지 퇴비화에 관한 연구 (Research on composting of sewage sludge using dryer facility with indirect heating system)

  • The need of reusing sewage sludge is highly increasing as the amount of domestic sewage sludge is growing and sewage management strategies were reinforced. Accordingly, in this research, we studied the composting possibility of sludge in sewage treatment plant J, using dryer facility with indirect system by conducting component analysis of dried sludge and experiment on cultivating crops. It was observed from the component analysis, that the dried sludge is appropriate for both decomposed manure standard of Ministry of Environment and fertilizer standard of Rural Development Administration. Besides, in the experiment on cultivating lettuce, the experimental group(soil + dried sludge) was superior to the control group(soil + bed soil) in apparent condition of leaves tensity and damage by disease and pest. In case of cultivating tomato, the experimental group showed stronger durability of fruits dangling on stems compared to the control group after 9 weeks. Consequently, the excess sludge dried by indirect heating system in the sewage treatment plant J is appropriate for the standard of both Ministry of Environment and Rural Development Administration and show good result in experiment on cultivating crops therefore it can be reused for composting.

남부지역 시설채소 재배 농가의 친환경농자재 사용실태 (The Usage Status of Environment-friendly Materials for Vegetable Cultivated under Protected Houses in the Southern Part of Korea)

  • 본 연구에서는 시설재배되는 오이, (방울)토마토, 딸기, 가지, 고추, 상추, 깻잎, 파 등 8개 작물에 대해 2003년부터 2004년까지 영남과 호남지역을 대상으로 78개 친환경인증 재배농가에서의 친환경농자재 사용실태를 조사하였다. 친환경농자재는 작물의 종류에 따라 병해충예방을 위해 21-87가지, 비료효과를 위해 0-9가지, 생육촉진을 위해 2-41가지, 토양관리를 위해 10-37가지를 사용한다고 응답하였다. 조사에서 나타난 323 품목에 이르는 친환경농자재를 합리적으로 관리하기 위해서는 앞으로 구성물질과 유용성을 과학적으로 구명하려는 노력이 요구된다.

음식물 쓰레기를 줄이기 위한 체계화 연구(I) -상용식품의 폐기율 조사와 급식소의 유형별 음식물 쓰레기량과 교육에 의한 개선효과- (The Systematic Study on Reduction of Food Waste Products(I) -Survey on Waste Rates of Frequently Consumed Korean Foods and Effect of Education on Kitchen Wastes of Institutional Foodservices -)

  • This research was conducted to estimate waste rates of 69 food items after pre-preparation and amounts of food wastes disposed and it's reduction effect by education in some institutional foodservices for reduction of the food wastes. The result are as follows: 1. The waste rates were 55.40% for sweet corn, 5.73% for potatoes, 19.14% for sweet potatoes, and 33.47% for chestnuts. 2. The waste rates of fruits were 0.21-49.36%. Food items with over 40% waste rate were banana, watermelon, and pineapple. 3. The waste rates of vegetables were 1.14-52.90%. The number of foods with under 10% waste rate were 14 items(red pepper, green pepper, chard, and so on), 10-20% was 9 items(perilla leaf, chinese cabbage, ginger root, and so on), 20-30% was 5 items(root of chinese bellflower, garlic, radish-leaves, burdock, welsh onion-large type), 30-40% was 3 items(shepherd's purse, head lettuce, kale) and over 40% was 3 items(water dropwort, crown daisy, mallow). 4. The waste rates were 24.30% in chicken, 9.53-13.79% in eggs, and 9.30-55.32% in fishes. The waste rates of vegetables and fishes were higher than those of other food groups. 5. There were significantly different in amount of food wastes disposed (g/person/day) to institutional foodservices (hospital>industrial institution> Korean restaurant>elementary school). The amount of food wastes disposed, especially amount in pre-preparation phase, after education for reduction of food wastes was significantly reduced. Since these study results show significant deviations in food waste rates and education effect, there should be more studies for standard waste rates of each food and systematic education method for reduction of food wastes.

부산 지역 주부들의 시판 밑반찬 기호도 및 이용 실태 (Housewives' Preference and Consumption of Commercialized Basic Side Dishes in the Busan Area)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the preferences, consumption, and eating frequencies of housewives for commercialized traditional basic side dishes. The investigators visited 18 food markets and questionnaires were distributed to 464 housewives in the Busan area. The number of basic side dishes being sold at the markets were in the order of seasoned dried radish (17 markets; mk), salted garlic stalk (15 mk), braised black soy beans (14 mk), braised peppers and dried anchovies (13 mk), and braised lotus roots (12 mk). The housewives' order of preferences was for stir-fried dried anchovies, braised peppers and dried anchovies, braised seasoned beef, salted perilla leaf, and perilla leaf kimchi equal to seasoned sea lettuce, respectively. The order for eating frequency was stir-fried dried anchovies, braised peppers and dried anchovies, salted perilla leaf, and perilla leaf kimchi, respectively. Salted perilla leaf, perilla leaf kimchi, braised crab preserved in soy sauce, salted bean leaves, seasoned dried radish, and seasoned crab were either occasionally or frequently purchased by over 40% of the women. However, the reasons they did not purchase these products included: the excess use of chemical seasonings, unsanitary, unreliable cooking process, unreliable the origin, and high price, in the respective order. If the commercialized traditional basic side dishes were improved to eliminate these problems, 52.2% of the housewives would buy the products, and 65.6% anticipated increasing their use of these products in the future.

녹황색 채소류의 돌연변이유발 억제 및 AZ-521 위암세포의 성장 저해효과 (Inhibitory Effect of Green-Yellow Vegetables on the Mutagenicity in Salmonella Assay System and on the Growth of AZ-521 Human Gastric Cancer Cells)

  • N-methyl-N'-nitro-N-nitrosoguanid me (MNNG)와 N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA)의 돌연변이 유발성 및 AZ-52l 사람의 위암세포의 성장에 미치는 녹황색 채소류의 저해 효과를 검토하였다. 26종의 시험 채소중 24종(92%)이 MNNG에 대한 항돌연변이성이 있었으며 (p<0.01, 0.05) 80%이상 저해 효과를 보인 시료는 들깻잎, 배추, 꽃양배추, 상치, 갓, 미나리, 들미나리, 당근, 우엉이었다. 한편 NDMA에 대해서도 실험채소중 85%가 항돌연변이성을 나타내었는데 (p<0.01, 0.05) 들깻잎, 배추, 케일, 콩나물, 양파는 80%이상의 저해 효과를 나타내었다. 위암세포의 성장 저해 효과에서는 들미나리와 들깻잎이 가장 저해 효과가 컸으며(97~100%) 콩나물과 미나리가 다음으로 효과가 컸었다(p< 0.001). 또한 브로콜리, 쑥갓, 풋고추, 고추잎, 시금치, 양배추, 고구마도 통계적인 유의성을 나타내며 암세포 성장을 억제하는 효과가 있었다(p< 0.01, 0.05).
