  • Along with the advance of Information technology and the introduction of the information era, cyber education through the internet has been activated in universities and private educational organization. However, most cyber education is not being practically applied in government employ. This study looks at the influential factors of cyber education in order to create a cyberspace where the public official can obtain information at a place and time convenient to them. This will provide a chance to activate cyber education effectively. The hypothesis was approved through multiple regression analysis was executed in order to explain and predict the relationship between influential factors and cyber education effects. The results of the study show the influential factors of education effect as follows: - the instruction design and contents factors such as interesting educational contents, interaction between leamers and teacher, and positive instruction, all had an important influence. - the learner factors, such as a desire to leam, motivation, and interest in the lesson, also had a significant influence. - the environmental factors such as systematical basis and support, atmosphere, and consideration of others had a large effect on the education effect.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the elementary teachers' professional performance about science teaching practice according to their personal variables. For this study, professional performance test was modified based on Woo's 'framework for progression and learning in the professional development of elementary teachers' science teaching practice', which included 6 elements such as 'lesson plans', 'creating the learning environment', 'inquiry', 'conceptual understanding', 'practical application', and 'assessment'. And then it conducted to 79 elementary teachers. The collected data were analyzed by the statistical package SPSS. The results of this study were as follows: There was statistically significant difference in the sub-domains of professional performance according to teachers' career, experience of training program, deciding method of exclusive subject. But there was almost no significant difference in other personal variables, such as gender, major, etc. Findings suggest that there are needs of further study about interaction effects of personal variables affecting teachers' professional performance of science teaching practice in detail.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the connection between students' errors and prior knowledge as an attempt to design an efficient teaching method in decimal computation. A survey on decimal computations was conducted in two 6th grade elementary school classrooms. Error patterns on decimal computations were analyzed and clinical interviews were conducted with 8 students according to their error patterns. Main errors resulted from the insufficient understanding of prior knowledge such as place value, connection between decimals and fractions, meaning of operations, and computation principles of fractions. In order to help students overcome such obstacles, a teaching experiment was designed in a manner that strengthens a profound understanding of prior knowledge related to decimal computations, and connects such knowledge to actual decimal calculations. This study showed that well-designed lesson plans with base-ten blocks might decrease students' errors by helping them understand decimals and connect their prior knowledge to decimal operations.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the effects of participation environmental UCC(User Created Content) making program on elementary school students' environmental literacy. Through the questionnaires and the analysis of students' outcomes, the effects of environmental literacy in both quality and quantity was verified. By applying computer programs to make environmental UCC to elementary students, helped them increase their environmental knowledge, and got them to recognize the importance of the environment that surrounds them. Students can find a solution to solve environmental problem from their interaction between the environment and themselves. It could also improve students' ability to think positively. From this research, I hope we require to develop possible programs for various kinds of educational activities based on UCC ones, since we already verified the effects of computer programs to make environmental UCC. The programs to make environmental UCC with learners participated is a kind of good model to reflect the learner's need who is a educational user. Or it could be teaching materials to help meet learner's viewpoint. It can also offer learner-oriented and creative learning and which teachers and learners work together to make a good result and that they make a new wave, instead of being teacher-oriented, which teachers force learners to do something. We can have a feeling of achievement through this and we can expect to enhance both our professional ability as a environmental teacher and the quality of lesson.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of creative thinking activities and STEAM Literacy through the use of the STEAM program utilizing Regional Science Experience Resource for elementary students. For the purpose of this study, a teaching plan and worksheet for students using STEAM Programs was developed and applied. The results of this study are as follows: First, the improvement in the scientific attitude score has statistically meaningful difference(p<.05). Second, the change in students' STEAM literach by applying the STEAM program utilizing Regional Science Experiences Resource has statistically meaningful difference (p<.05). Third, according to the analysis of a questionnaire used to evaluate the program, students had a positive perception of the STEAM program and gained higher level of satisfaction about the lesson. Therefore, STEAM Program utilizing Regional Science Experiences Resource applied in this study might be useful to improve STEAM Literacy, and can be expected to improve scientific attitude and should be widely applied to Science education.

  • The purpose of this qualitative case study was to investigate the 'structure' of an elementary school teacher's practical knowledge concerning science experiment lessons. A female elementary teacher in the early career years participated in the study, and video recordings of her science experiment lessons as well as audio-taped interviews with her were analyzed by means of Elbaz's framework. The teacher expressed six images of science experiment lessons: 'Science is difficult', 'Experiments are dangerous', 'Experiments are accurate', 'A science experiment takes a long time', 'Science experiments are interesting', and 'Children are little scientists.' These images were supported by several principles and rules, most of which were clearly described. Among the images, principles, and rules, there were complex relationships with some working in synergy and some conflicting. In case of the image 'Children are little scientists', its subordinate principles and rules were not fully realized in the classroom. Implications for science teaching reform and science education research were discussed.

  • This study analyzed the lesson analysis reports and survey of pre-service teachers who have practiced the microteaching in order to identify the reflection of mathematics pre-service teachers. The professors who are teaching pre-service teachers need to propose the examples of an instructional model that can induce the opened reaction and the effective usage of time through interesting topics. In addition, pre-service teachers who have practiced the first microteaching have shown a lot of reflection more than expected. Therefore, to improve the quality of lectures, it is important for pre-service teachers to have experiences of microteaching and reflection.

  • Information and Communication Technology is now widely accepted by developing countries as a development tool in their efforts to alleviate poverty, enhance human development, and achieve Millennium Development Goals. Recognizing this untapped potential and development strategies incorporating ICT are being increasingly promoted and launched across the developing countries requiring a comprehensive ICT policy that plays a crucial rule, in particular, in the area of agriculture and rural development. While the potential advantages of ICT for development are enormous in developed countries, national policies of developing countries are yet to adequately reflect truly comprehensive and integrated strategies for harnessing and exploiting this potential. This paper tries to provide implication of ICT policy to the agriculture and rural development in developing countries, in particular through lessons learned from European Union (EU) IT policy. Through the examination of vital projects in the agriculture and rural development sectors and case study analysis of applied policies and strategies implemented in the European Union, this paper provides tangible examples and lessons for policy-makers and practitioners involved in the field. Hence, this study provides policy-makers the necessary tools, information and knowledge to facilitate the formulation and adoption of ICT policies and strategies in the agriculture and rural development sector.
