Purpose: The aim of this retrospective study was to provide long-term data about the correlation between multifactorial local factors and the survival of implants. Material and methods: During 19 years (1991 to 2009), 2796 implants were placed in 879 patients. From dental charts and radiographs, the following data were collected: patient's age at implant placement, gender, implant system, surface, length, diameter, location of implant placement, bone quality, primary stability, type of prosthesis. The correlations between these data and implant survival were analyzed. Statistical analysis was performed using Kaplan-Meier survival analysis, Chi-square test, odds ratio. Results: 1. Among the 2796 implants, 150 implants failed that resulted in a cumulative survival rate of 94.64%. The cumulative survival rate of smooth surface implants (91.76%) was lower than rough surface implants (96.02%). 2. Anatomic location, implant surface, diameter of smooth surface implant, primary stability, type of prosthesis, patient's age and gender were significantly associated with implant survival (P < .05). 3. No significant difference in implant survival was found in relation to the following factors: implant length, bone quality, diameter of rough surface implants and type of rough surface according to implant manufacturer (P < .05). Conclusions: Local factors such as anatomic location, implant surface, diameter of smooth surface implant, primary stability and type of prosthesis have a significant effect on implant survival.
For the effective seedling production of flat oyster, Ostrea denselamellosa, dietary value of live food, densities, water temperature and salinity on growth and survival rate of the larvae were examined. In rearing larvae by feeding them phytoplankton diets, the optimal survival rate and growth rate of larvae were found using a mixed phytoplankton diet which was mixed with Isochrysis galbana, Chaetoceros calcitrans and Chlorella sp. The highest growth and survival rates of the larvae were 208.4% and 38.8% with the phytoplankton diet. In growth and survival rates of larvae with various rearing densities, the highest survival and growth rates were 228.1% and 29.0% at the density of 2 individuals/ml. In observing rearing experiments of the flat oyster larvae under various temperature conditions, average growth rates of the larvae in respect to shell length were 202.2%, 240.4%, 250.6% and 121.3% in natural water temperatures (18-22$^{\circ}C$), 24$^{\circ}C$, 28$^{\circ}C$ and 32 $^{\circ}C$, respectively. And average survival rates of the larvae were 16.0%, 32.0%, 13.0% and 0% in natural water temperatures (18-22$^{\circ}C$), 24$^{\circ}C$, 28$^{\circ}C$ and 32$^{\circ}C$, respectively. In rearing at various salinities, the highest growth rates of the larvae in shell length was 240.0% at 30.0 psu and the highest survival rate was 31.0% at 25 psu.

The purpose of this study was investigate to the influence of forest roads characteristics and environment factors on the soil erosion, stability and vegetation survival of cut slope in forest roads. The results obtained could be summarized as follows; 1. The correlated factors between slope erosion and variables in cut slope were altitude, convex, degree of slope, length of slope and soil depth. In the stepwise regression analysis, length of slope and soil hardness was a high significant and its regression equation was given by -89.6136 + 15.0667X14 + 16.6713X15($R^2$ = 0.6712). 2. The main factors influencing the stability of cut slope were significant in order of coverage, middle, convex, length of slope and north, and its discriminant equation was given by -1.019 + 0.064X22 - 0.808X8 - 0.622X24 + 0.742X11 - 0.172X14 - 0.545X6 ($R^2$ = 0.793). 3. The centroids value of discriminant function in the stability and unstability estimated to 1.244 and -1.348, respectively. The boundary value between two groups related to slope stability was -0.1038. The prediction rate of discriminant function for stability evaluation of was as high as 91.3%. 4. The dominant species of invasion vegetation on the cut slope consist with Carex humilis, Agropyron tsukushiense var. transiens, Calamagrostis arundinacea, Miscanthus sinensis var. purpurascens, and Ixeris dentata in survey area. The rate of vegetation invasion more increased by time passed. 5. The life form of invasion vegetation in cut slop showed to $H-D_1-R_{2,3}-e$ type of the hemicryptophyte of dormancy form, dissem inated widely by wind and water of dissminule type, moderate extent and narrowest extent of radicoid type, erect form of growth form. 6. The correlated factors between forest enviroment and coverage appeared north, passage years and middle position of slope at 5% level. The forest environment factors influencing the invasion plants in survey area were shown in order to altitude, passage years, rock(none), forest type(mixed) and stone amount. The regression equation was given by 17.5228 - 0.0911X3 + 3.6189X28 15.8493X22 19.8544X25 + 0.3558X26 ($R^2$ = 0.4026).

Intermolt periods, growth rates, survival (%) and relative growth of the megalopa larvae of Portunus trituberculatus (Miers, 1876) were studied up to the crab 7th stage for 160 days in the 3 different temperature groups in which each has 60 larvae. The higher the water temperature was the shorter the intermolt period was in each crab stage. In addition, a deviation of intermolt periods was shown as few as the water temperature gets higher. The intermolt period in the 7th crab stage was $29.8{\pm}3.26$ days in the experimental group at the room temperature, $45.2{\pm}3.89$ days at the temperature of $17^{\circ}C$, and $25.6{\pm}2.23$ days at the temperature of $27^{\circ}C$, respectively. The survival (%) of larvae of P. trituberculatus (the crab 7th stage) is the highest in the group at the room temperature: However, they showed 15% at the temperature of $27^{\circ}C$ and 10% at the temperature of $17^{\circ}C$. All the groups were shown the similar relative growth, but significant differences appeared in some comparison. The sizes (mean growth of carapace width) of the crabs in the group at the temperature of $27^{\circ}C$ reached 5.01~25.45 mm length (it is the longest among the groups) from the crab 1th to the crab 7th stage. However, the sizes (mean growth of carapace width) of room temperature were 4.99~22.26 mm and the size of crab in the group at the temperature of $17^{\circ}C$ reached 4.8~17.26 mm, The sizes (mean growth of carapace length) of the crabs in the group at temperature of $27^{\circ}C$ reached 2.88~13.56 mm, However, the size of the crab in the group at the room temperature showed 2.88~12.34 mm, while in the group at temperature of $17^{\circ}C$, their average growth of carapace length were 2.51~8.03 mm. The growth rates of larvae of P. trituberculatus (from the crab 1th to the crab 7th stage) were changed with the increase of the instar stage, however their changes showed irregular.

This study was carried out treatment of polyethylene glycol (PEG) in order to increase of survival rate of acclimated plants of strawberry's in vitro plantlets through bioreactor culture. We used PEG with molecular weight 6000 (PEG 6000) in this study. Concentration of PEG is non-treatment, 5, 10, 15, and $20g{\cdot}L^{-1}$ each bioreactor. $5g{\cdot}L^{-1}$ of PEG was treated at $1^{st}$, $2^{nd}$, $3^{rd}$, $4^{th}$, and $5^{th}$ week during culture. We investigated growth characteristics of in vitro plantlets after 6 weeks cultivation. Growth amount of all PEG treatment decreased as compared to non-treatment. The more concentration increased, the more plant growth decreased. In $5g{\cdot}L^{-1}$ of PEG, shoot length was shorter than non-treatment that shoot length was 7.9 cm and especially fresh weight that is 1.6 g was more decrease than non-treatment. Shoot length was ranged 3.0-3.9 cm at $1^{st}$ week treatment to $4^{th}$ week treatment of $5g{\cdot}L^{-1}$ PEG. The shoot length was not significant by 5.3 cm at $5^{th}$ week treatment. The survival rate was improved 5.4% at the treatment of $4^{th}$ week and was improved 8.7% at the $5^{th}$ week as compared to non-treatment. In order to improve of survival rate of strawberry' in vitro plantlets through bioreactor culture, the method is suitable that adding $5g{\cdot}L^{-1}$ of PEG in the medium and $5^{th}$ week's treatment is suitable.
Bioactivity growth and survival rte of yolk sac larvae in cultured black seabream (Acanthopogrus schlegeli) red seabream (Pagrus major) and olive flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus) to 5 different concentration (0, 25, 50, 75 and 100%) of water soluble fraction (WSF) of Kuwait crude oil were studied. The 75% and 100% of WSF concentration influenced negatively on the length growth of larvae in each species so the growth rates of total length in the concentration of WSF were significantly lower than those of control. The high concentration (50%, 75%, and 100%) of WSF influenced negatively not only on the swimming frequency and speed but also on the morphological abnormality of larvae. Red seabream larvae showed the highest rate of abnormality by WSF among the tested fishes. The fish larvae exposed during pre-and post-hatch (egg and larval stages) and during post-hatch (larval stage only) to the WSF were significantly influenced on their survival rate. The larvae of red seabream were more sensitive to WSF than those of black seabream and olive flounder. The survival rates of larvae exposed to higher concentration (50%, 75%, and 100%) of WSF were significantly lower than those of the control but those of the 25% group were not.
We examined the in vitro rooting and survival of tissue cultured plantlets of Quercus acutissima Carr. and Pinus densiflora Sieb. et Zucc. after addition of Pisolithus tinctorius(Pt) ectomycorrhizal fungus inoculum to the medium and effects of three levels of sucrose and phosphorus in culture media. Shoots of Quercus acutissima were obtained from winter buds of a 30-year old tree and cuttings of Pinus densiflora from germinated seed, and they were inoculated with Pt in vitro. In both species, Pt enhanced shoot length, survival, number of adventitious roots, root length, and rooting percentage. Survival in Quercus acutissima was increased from 75% in control to 100% in Pt inoculation. Pt inoculation increased the percentage of rooting from 20% to 70% in Quercus acutissima cuttings and from 63% to 100% in Pinus densiflora cuttings. It is concluded that mycorrhizal inoculation to tissue cultured Quercus acutissima Carr. and to in vitro cutting of Pinus densiflora Sieb. et Zucc. has practical application to improvement of poor root development and initial period of reduced shoot growth in vitro.
This study was designed to determine the effect of red LEDs during healing and acclimatization process on the survival rate and quality of grafted tomato seedlings. Red LEDs and no light (darkness) were used for treating three rootstock cultivars, which are 'B-Blocking', 'Kanbarune', 'High-power' in healing room. Results showed that survival rates of grafted seedlings in red LEDs were higher than those in no light treatment. Significant variation on survival rates of rootstock cultivars was observed in no light treatment but there was not significant variation in red LEDs treatment. Light treatment also reduced the percentage of infected plants, except for the 'Kanbarune' cultivar. Seedling quality in red LEDs was better than that in no light treatment by improving growth parameters such as plant height, leaf length, leaf width, leaf area, fresh and dry weight of shoot and root. Light treatments and rootstock cultivars did not affect number of leaves, leaf chlorophyll value and T/R ratio of seedlings, but seedlings in red LEDs were significantly more compact than those in no light treatment. Moreover, the root morphology of seedlings such as total root surface area, total root length, and number of toot tips in red LEDs was also greater than that in no light treatment.
This paper investigated external factors (height. crown width. diameter breath height, clear length) of tree and electric resistance ($k{\Omega}$) in damaged forest by Thecodiplosis japonensis Uchida et Inouye. The height. crown width and diameter breath height of tree external factors have high a coefficient of correlation. but clear length has not a coefficient of correlation. In relationship of electric resistance and external factor. big tree that height. crown width. diameter breath height has lower electric resistance value than that of small tree. (low electric resistance value is high tree vigor, high electric resistance value is low tree vigor)) Dead tree have smaller diameter breath height. crown width. higher clear length than survival tree in damaged forest by Thecodiplosis japonensis Uchida et Inouye. To investigation of relationship external factors according to electric resistance value. electric resistance value was divided three class (< $l4k{\Omega}$, possible of survival. $14{\sim}20k{\Omega}$, > $20k{\Omega}$, possible of dead). In lower class(< $l4k{\Omega}$), external factors have bigger which was height. crown width. diameter breath height and lower which was clear length than them of higher class ($14{\sim}20k{\Omega}$, > $20k{\Omega}$). Linear regression solutions of electric resistance and external factors were Y = -0.572 ${\times}$ Height - 1.163 ${\times}$ crown width - 0.242 ${\times}$ diameter breath height + 0.757 ${\times}$ clear length + 25.765. Regression solutions were significant in 5%.
This study investigated the effects of soil depths and soil organic fertilizer application on the growth characteristics of Spiraea bumalda 'Gold Mound' in a extensive green roof system. The treatments were 3 soil depths (10, 15 and 25 cm) and 5 soil types in mixture of artificial soil and organic fertilizer. We measured plant height, leaf width, leaf length, number of flowers, visual quality and survival rate from March to October in 2011. The growing medium of 10 cm soil depth showed the highest plant growth in $A_1$ (amended soil 100%), and the lowest plant growth in $O_1A_4$ (organic fertilizer 20% + amended soil 80%) treatment. In case of 15 cm soil depth, Spiraea bumalda 'Gold Mound' showed a high leaf length and visual quality in $O_1A_2$(organic fertilizer 33% + amended soil 67%) treatment and high leaf width and number of flowers in $O_1$ (organic fertilizer 100%) treatment. $A_1$ treatment without organic fertilizer showed the lowest leaf length and poorest visual quality, and $O_1A_4$ treatment showed the lowest plant height and lowest number of flowers. At soil depth 25 cm, $O_1A_1$ (organic fertilizer 50% + amended soil 50%) treatment showed greater plant height, visual quality and number of flowers than other treatments. The leaf length and leaf width were more effective in $O_1$ treatment. $A_1$ treatment showed a relatively low leaf length, leaf width and visual quality. The higher the organic conditioner, the better the plant growth. And, survival rates of Spiraea bumalda 'Gold Mound' showed 92%, 88% and 76% at soil depths of 25 cm, 15 cm and 10 cm, respectively, in this a extensive green roof system. Therefore, the results showed that the growth of Spiraea bumalda 'Gold Mound' was affected by both soil quality and soil depth. Different optimal mixtures of organic fertilizer and amended soil were determined, depending upon soil depth.
