  • Background: Seafaring is an inherently stressful environment. Because working time and leisure time is spent in the same confined environment for a prolonged period of time, many stressors present in seafaring can also be conceived of as chronic. We explored the effects of duration at sea, seafaring experience, environmental stressors, and psychological capital (PsyCap) on the sleep quality and fatigue of seafarers. PsyCap is a construct that draws upon ideas from positive psychology and positive organizational behavior, and is intended to capture an individual's psychological capacities that can be developed and utilized for performance improvements. Methods: We collected survey data from a sample of seafarers working in the offshore re-supply industry (n = 402) and a sample of seafarers working on board combined passenger and cargo ships (n = 340). Results: PsyCap emerged as a robust predictor with statistically significant relations to fatigue and sleep quality in both samples. PsyCap also interacted with duration at sea in explaining fatigue in seafarers working on board the passenger and cargo ships. Seafarers on passenger and cargo ships also reported significantly higher levels of fatigue than those working in the offshore re-supply industry. Conclusion: Coupled with emerging research showing that PsyCap is trainable, our results suggest that maritime organizations could have much to gain by being cognizant of and developing routines for continually developing the PsyCap of their employees.

  • Rural amenity is regarded as a breakthrough that can revitalize the rural communities. The demand for rural amenity development is also increasing since the urban people have growing incomes and leisure time. This study was implemented to survey the needs and application directions of rural amenity database. The survey questionnaires were collected from various related groups including industry, universities, administration and research institute. Two kinds of analysis of variance (ANOVA) were carried out in order to prioritize the building rural amenity resource map among four user groups and ten rural amenity resources. The result of survey showed that most of respondents had been aware of amenity resources and the industry group had the highest level of utilization in making decisions for rural development. Although the significant difference among groups was not shown in the priority, the priority in the construction of information map was shown the significant difference among 10 kinds of amenity resources. Landscape's map and traditional resource map were relatively higher priority than the other resource map.

  • The study was made to clarify the degree of fatigue of dental technicians in service at the general &local hospital or the dental laboratories in the large cith of korea. The objectives of this study were 235 dental technicians who replied the questionaire which was sent by postal service out of 600 dental technicians selected by random sampling among the workers of the each dental laboratory. The instruments used in this study was the same one as developed by Industry Fatigue committee of Japan Industry Hygiene Association. This instrument was included total 30 items which is consisted of 10 perceived symptoms of fatigue in physical, mental and neuro-sensory dimension respectably. Reliability was tasted with the data of objectives, in which value of Cronbach's $\alpha$ was 9457. The following results were obtained. 1. It was revealed that the influencing demographic variables on the perceived symptoms of fatigue of dental technicians were sex, age, marital status, educational background, job carrier, working part, working hour and commuting hour. The shorted the age or job carrier, thge higher dearee of the perceived symptoms of fatigue. The longer working hours of commuting hours, the higher degree of the perceived symptoms of fatigue. The degree of the perceived symptoms of fatigue in females, unmarried person, the one with higher educational background, workers except orthodontic appliances and poorcelain contouring were higher than the other group. 2. The higher degree of the rest & leisure condition, the lower degree of the physical, mental and neuro-sensory perceived symptoms. 3. The higher degree of environmental condition of the working, the lower degree of the physical, mental and neurosensory perceived symptoms.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the scapulothoracic joint movement between different weight bearing contributing to effective bench press exercise. Ten male subjects participated in this study. All subjects were tested on the flat bench press machine which modified weight (50% and 70% of 1RM) and subjects were performed two different conditions(none protraction condition and protraction condition). Weight bar height and vertical velocity, EMG activation was measured using 3D motion capture system and wireless EMG analysis system. As the results, none protraction condition showed that it is more concentrate better pectoralis major muscle activation than protraction condition and middle pectoralis major, anterior deltoid and triceps brachii was significant higher integrated EMG in 70% of 1RM condition. In conclusion, limited scapulothoracic joint movement was more effective activated pectoralis major muscle all the weight through, while we could not find that it was not affected integrated EMG on eight muslces related to shoulder complex between scapulothracic joint movement conditions.

The purpose of this study is to identify the effect of the exercise commitment of university water sport participants on re-participation intentions and to induce insights for expanding water sport industry. Research design, data, and methodology: Subjects were collected from undergraduate students who participated water sports class in University. The sample was extracted by purposive sampling of nonprobability sampling method. To achieve the purpose of the research, survey was processed to 281 subjects. SPSS Version 21.0 was used to analyze the data. All statistical significance level was set to p<.05. In terms of measurement, items of demographic information, exercise commitment, and re-participation intentions were utilized. Results: The results are as follows. Frist, in the difference in exercise commitment and re-participation intention according to the grade, only the re-participation intention was significant. The effects of the exercise commitment of university water sport participants on re participation intentions were statistically significant. Conclusions: The findings indicate the function of sport club participants' commitment towards water sports in promoting their intentions to re-participation. The study suggested insights and future directions for expanding water sport markets and related industry.

  • This paper was conducted to study the conditions for the manufacture and operation of artificial snow removal and ice-making test facilities so that the test equipment can be tested in a low-temperature environment using the polar environment performance test facility. The polar environment performance test Facility is designed to artificially simulate extreme environments up to -65 ℃, and is a mid-to-large low-temperature environment test facility that can perform performance tests on offshore plant equipment, ships, leisure, and offshore structures. To verify the safety of deck work of ships operating in polar environments, artificial snow removal and artificial ice making devices were manufactured, and we conducted research on various operating environments using these facilities. For the efficient operation of artificial snow and ice making facilities, it is important to continuously supply dry air, and it has been found that installing an additional heater at the tip of the nozzle is effective in preventing freezing.

  • As the information services are reachable by various terminals almost anytime, anywhere, much effort has been made to endow the users with context-aware services by utilizing available information. The increase in leisure time and wealth has made people pay more attention to hobby, entertainment, health, well-being, and so on. In these fields, the information services, if provided in a context-aware way, could largely enhance the user satisfaction. This paper identifies the essential components of context-aware entertainment service provision and proposes a service development framework. It also presents how to represent data, how to describe service selection knowledge for context-aware services, and how to conduct inference under the representation scheme.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine relationships among exhibition selection factor, performance, satisfaction and intention to revisit of participants in international exhibition. For this purpose, we set hypotheses relationship among external selection factor of exhibition (ESFE), internal selection factor of exhibition (ISFE), performance of sales (PS), performance of information gathering (PIG), performance of relationship building (PRB), performance of image building (PIB), satisfaction (SAT) and intention to revisit (IR). To verify theses hypotheses, we conducted path analysis on the data from 100 participants of 2019 Korea International Boat Show. The result of this study is as follows: Frist, ESFE positively impacts on PS, PIG, PRB, PIB. Second, ISFE positively impacts on PIG, PRB. Third, PS and PIB positively impacts on SAT. Fourth, SAT positively impacts on IR. The implication of this study is two fold. This study expands research area of international exhibition to a new industry such as marine leisure sports industry and provides useful information to firms that plan to participate in the international exhibition and to those who organize the international exhibitions.
