Agrobacterium-mediated transformation has been unsuccessful for monocot plants except for a few important crops such as barley, rice, maize and wheat. We discussed here that a successful transformation of monocots demands certain critical conditions. The requirements for an efficient transformation are a selection of target tissues competent for plant regeneration and Agrobacterium-infection, and various factors promoting Agrobacterium-infection. The factors were divided into two to activate Agrobacterium and to increase plant cell's susceptibility against Agrobacterium. Optimization of these factors significantly increased transformation efficiency of zoysia grass and rice plants. A technical improvement in transformation system for monocots will promote improvement of the breed as well as a study of gene functions in monocots.

Crohn's disease is an indolent, chronic inflammatory bowel disease capable of involving the entire alimentary tract. The exact etiology and pathogenesis remain unknown despite a long and intensive research, but the finding of various abnormalities of the immune response in patients with Crohn's disease has led to the concepts that immune mechanism is involved in the pathogenesis of this disease. Recently, we have experienced a case of Crohn's disease. So the purpose of this study is to examine the efficacy of Oriental medicine for Crohn's disease.

시골에서도 식용이 아닌 애완견을 키우는 가정이 늘고 있다. 더불어 애견사료를 구매하는 사람들도 늘어나고 있다. 애견을 키우고, 애견사료를 먹이는 것이 도시인들의 전유물인 것처럼 여겨지던 때도 있었지만, 어느새 애완산업은 그리고, 애완동물 문화는 시골 구석구석에까지 영향을 미치고 있다. 사람들이 먹다 남은 음식을 먹여 키워 복날이면 말없이 사라졌던 우리들의 '메리', '워리'는 이제 많지 않다. 기억하는가? 정을 듬뿍 주었던 '메리', '워리'가 복날 말없이 사라지고, 어째서인지 '메리', '워리'를 보며 입맛 다시던 아버지의 친구분이 부쩍 집에 자주 오시던 것을 기억해내고는 엉엉 울어보았던 일들을. 이제 이런 풍경도 흔치 않다. 대가족을 이끌고 사는 가족도 드물 뿐 더러, 애완동물을 키우는 사람들에게 개는 집지킴이 그 이상이 된지 오래다. 그만큼 애완동물의 건강의 가족의 건강못지않게 중요한 것이 되었고, 사료 역시 애완동물을 키우는 사람들에겐 꽤 비중 있는 부문이 되고 있다.

Web casting has become an important opportunity to apply the user-centered concept to broadcasting because it provides real-time interactive service through time and space. It is also necessary to have a new understanding about user who is not a passive viewer any more but an active user. The amount and quality of contents are also important, but usability is a competitive factor as well as the fundamental customer services that have user best experience at the site. Nevertheless most of web casting sites show the low level of usability. In this study we had a comparative evaluation among these sites, MBC, KBS and SBS, which are the representative broadcasting systems. The tests were carried out as heuristic evaluation and usability testing. We analyzed causes and problems of web usability for customer satisfaction and reliability exaltation, and expected the basic knowledge of developing and improving sites.
