전통 아동교육서에 나타난 아동교육 원리 (Principles of Child Education in Traditional Korean Child Education Books)

  • This study explored principles of child education in such traditional Korean child education books as "So Hak", "Dong Mong Sun Seup", "Kyuk Mong Yo Kyul", and "Sa So Goel". Principles of child education presented in those traditional Korean child education books can be identified as (1) modeling and identification, (2) integration of knowledge and behavior, (3) spontaneity of learning, (4) learning by doing, (5) early education with consideration of critical periods, and (6) individualization. From those findings, we can conclude that traditional Korean child education (1) emphasizes learner characteristics and principles of child development, (2) gives good guidance to significant adults around children, and (3) suggests implications to modern child education practices which are mainly concerned with knowledge and function.

  • Smart manufacturing is a process of integrating computer-related technologies in production and by doing so, achieving more efficient production management. The recent development of supercomputers has led to the broad utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning techniques useful in predicting specific patterns. Despite the usefulness of AI and machine learning techniques in smart manufacturing processes, there are many fundamental issues with the direct deployment of these technologies related to data management. In this paper, we focus on solving the outlier detection issue in smart manufacturing applications. More specifically, we apply a state-of-the-art outlier detection technique, called Elliptic Envelope, to detect anomalies in simulation-based collected data.

뇌기반 학습과학: 뇌과학이 교육에 대해 말해 주는 것은 무엇인가? (Brain-based Learning Science: What can the Brain Science Tell us about Education?)

  • 인간은 보고, 듣고, 따라하고, 행하고, 느끼면서 배운다. 이 모든 과정에 뇌가 관여한다. 최근 뇌과학 연구의 비약적 발전과 뇌과학 연구와 인지과학 연구의 활발한 협력은 '뇌기반 학습과학(Brain-Based Learning Science)', '교육신경과학(Educational Neuroscience)', 혹은 신경교육학(Neuro-Education)이라 불리우는 새로운 연구 분야를 탄생시켰다. 뇌기반 학습과학은 기존의 '학습과학'을 넘어서 실제 학습과 교육환경에 적지 않은 변화를 줄 것으로 기대되는 만큼 그 가능성에 대해 회의적인 입장도 공존하고 있다. 이 논문에서는 뇌기반 학습과학의 정의와 기본가정을 살펴보고, 인지신경과학의 최신 연구가 어떻게 이루어지고 있는지를 소개하고 이러한 연구결과에서 교육적 함의를 도출해 보고자 하였다. 또한 신경계에 대한 신화적 사고와 그 문제점을 열거하고, 뇌과학과 학습-교육 현장의 연계 가능성 및 향후 뇌기반 학습과학의 전망과 한계에 대해 논의하였다.

  • 콘텐츠산업의 성장과 함께 국내 문화콘텐츠의 해외 진출이 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 하지만, 좋은 성과를 내고 있는 게임, 음악, 영화 등의 분야와는 달리 교육콘텐츠의 경우 해외 시장에서 유의미한 성과를 내지 못하고 있다. 이에, 본 연구에서는 성공적인 교육콘텐츠의 해외 진출 사례로 C연구소의 G러닝 미국 공교육 진출 사례를 살펴보고자 한다. 본 사례에서 C연구소는 많은 어려움을 극복하고 LA라발로나 초등학교에서 5학년 정규 과정 G러닝 수학수업을 진행하고 학생들의 성적을 향상시켰다. 본 사례의 분석을 통해 이러한 성공이 가능했던 이유에 대한 전략적 시사점을 다음과 같이 제시할 수 있었다. 첫째, 제품의 차별성이고, 둘째, 현지 인력을 중심으로 지원조직을 구성하여 현지 인적 네트워크를 효율적으로 활용할 수 있었으며, 셋째, 지속적인 커뮤니케이션을 통한 정보 공유를 통해 연쇄적인 설득과정을 유도할 수 있었다.

독서수준과 학습만화 이용행태가 학습능력에 미치는 영향 - 초등학교 고학년 학생을 중심으로 - (The Impact of Educational Comic Book Reading Behavior and Reading Levels on the Students' Learning Competencies: For Higher Grades Students in Elementary Schools)

  • 본 연구는 독서수준에 따른 단계별 학습만화 이용행태가 학습능력에 미치는 영향에 대해 독서수준이 다양한 학생들을 대상으로 질적 연구방법을 통해 조사 분석하였다. 학생들은 학습만화 반복읽기 과정에서 독서수준에 따라 동일주제의 단계별 학습만화를 이용하는 행태를 보였다. 이러한 학습만화 이용행태는 관련 주제의 일반도서 읽기로의 전이를 돕고, 학습만화가 교과단원의 이해를 위한 참고서 역할을 함으로써 학습능력에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해 학습만화를 이용한 자기주도적 학습법과 학습만화 읽기 개선을 통한 효율적인 독서지도안이 개발되기를 기대한다.

우리나라 과학캠프의 운영 실태와 교육적 효과 (The Present Operational Status and Educational Effects of Science Camp in Korea)

  • There is a growing tendency that it gives the first primacy to inquiry learning as lesson style from lecture or simple experiment in present primary. middle and high school. But in fact. inquiry learning is difficult due to space limit, lack of laboratory, instruments and program for inquiry learning. Therefore, it is very important for science camp which stimulates much interest in science to be activated by doing of scientific activities in out-of-doors. This study is to investigate the present operational status and educational effects of science camp in which Korean and American students and teachers found. The science camps held by Seoul YMCA Chong-Ro BR. and Dongdaemun BR., Bun-Dong middle school, and Cho-Sun IL BO and Inkel corp., were analyzed. The 284 students and 12 teachers who take part in science camps in Seoul YMCA Chong-Ro BR. and Bun-Dong middle school, and 197 students who attending in 6 schools in seoul were questionaired. The 37 American students and 16 teachers in Pennsylvania, were also questionaired, Most students and teachers thought it useful regarding science-program which proceeded at science camps. And it was thought that science program had much relation to science class in school, especially science-camp made it help to arouse interests on science.

자유학기제에서 의생활 영역의 활동과 요구도 (A Study of Curriculum of Clothings Area' Activity and Need at the Free Learning Semester)

  • This study determined the reality of how middle school students are doing with their free learning semester and what they think about it. Also, the study looked at how many parts of Home Economics and the area of clothing curriculum are being taken and, especially, how many parts of this curriculum content are being required as free learning semester activities. This study aims to not only develop free learning semester activities according to student demand but also at providing a basic resource that can help activate the area of clothing curriculum in subject of Home Economics. In short: 1) Middle school students are attending activities such as career exploration activities, student selection activities, club activities, arts activities and physical education activities thoroughly through the free learning semester. These mostly take place in school and most of the students were taught by teachers from their own school. 2) The students are aware that the free learning semester's activities are helpful for them. The most helpful part was that it reduces the load they get from the school's exam and also the fact that they can investigate areas in which they are interested. 3) The number of students who have already taken or are taking activities related to Home Economics were 145, which is about 1/3 of the 451 students overall. The area where the most of the activities were held out of those activities related to Home Economics was the domain of food while the clothing curriculum accounted for a very small part compared to it. 4) The study found that need for a clothing curriculum for middle school student free learning semesters was about 2.79 on a scale from 1 to 5. The areas of most interest in this topic were highly related to 'making and mending clothes'.

그래픽 계산기를 활용하는 수학과 교수-학습 자료 모형 개발 연구 (Study on the Development of a Model for Teaching and Learning Mathematics Using Graphic Calculators)

  • This study is focused on the possibility if we can use graphic calculators in teaching and learning school mathematics. This study is consisted with four main chapters. In chapter II, the functions of the graphic calculator EL-9600 produced by Sharp Corporation was analyzed focused on the possibilities if the functions could be used in teaching and learning school mathematics. Calculating of real numbers and complex numbers, solving equations and system of linear equations, calculating of matrices, graphing of several functions including polynomial functions, trigonometric functions, exponential and logarithmic functions, calculation of differential and integrals, arranging of statical data, graphing of statistical data, testing of statistical hypotheses, and other more useful functions were founded. In Chapter III, a mathematics textbook developed by Core-Plus Mathematics Project was analyzed focused on how a graphic calculator was used in teaching and learning mathematics, In the textbook, graphic calculator was used as a tool in understanding mathematical concepts and solving problems. Graphic calculator is not just a tool to do complex computations but a tool used in the processes of doing mathematics, In chapter IV, the 7th mathematics curriculum for korean secondary schools was analyzed to find the contents could be taught by using graphic calculators. Most of the domains, except geometric figure, were found that they could be taught by using graphic calculators, In chapter V, a model of a unit using graphic calculator in teaching 7th mathematics curriculum was developed. In this model, graphic calculator was used as a tool in the processes of understanding mathematical concepts and solving problems. This study suggests the possibilities that we can use graphic calculators effectively in teaching and learning mathematical concepts and problem solving for most domains of secondary school mathematics.

An Analysis of the Effects of Learning Stress for Inquiry Activities in College Earth Science Course

  • This study analyzed variations of learning stress by comparing the salivary cortisol levels of students who participated in Earth Science inquiry activities. The cortisol concentrations between the pre- and post-inquiries of the sample of 34 university students, who had taken the course of 'Basic Earth Science and Experiments', were analyzed. The Earth Science inquiries consisted of geology and astronomy activities. The observational geology activities consisted of a session of 'structure contours and map patterns' and the cognitive astronomy activities consisted of a session of 'representations of horizontal and equatorial coordinates'. These Earth Science inquiry activities were found to cause students to have anxiety, and the thought processes that these activities involved were found to cause learning stress. The variations in cortisol concentrations of students increased by $1.6{\pm}5.9ng\;mL^{-1}$ after conducting observational activities in geology compared with $2.1{\pm}6.2ng\;mL^{-1}$ after doing cognitive activities in astronomy. The analysis of the observational activities in the geology inquiry activities indicated that they were consistent with low levels of learning stress. Conversely, the analysis of the cognitive activities in the astronomy inquiry activities showed significant individual variations in cortisol concentrations. Furthermore, individual differences in cognitive ability were reflected in the astronomy inquiry activities. While students, who received high scores, exhibited low levels of stress in the geology inquiry activities, they showed high levels of stress in the astronomy inquiry activities. It was concluded that, in the case of students with high scores in the study, the level of learning stress increased due to the raised anxiety in cognitive inquiry activities. In contrast, students, who received low scores in the study, exhibited high levels of stress in the geology inquiry activities, and low levels of stress in the astronomy inquiry activities.

프로젝트기반학습을 통한 데이터베이스 교육 (Database Education through Project-Based Learning)

  • 최근 공학교육의 실효성을 향상시키기 위해서 교수자 중심의 지식 전달을 중시하는 전통적인 교수법에서 벗어나, 프로젝트기반학습, 문제중심학습 등 다양한 교수법을 활용하고 있는 추세이다. 그 가운데 특히 습득한 지식을 바로 활용해 볼 수 있는 프로젝트를 수행함으로써 실무능력을 향상시킬 수 있는 프로젝트기반학습(PBL)의 활용이 증가하고 있다. 하지만 프로젝트를 수행한다고 해서 무조건 PBL을 제대로 활용하고 있다고 판단하기는 어렵다. 즉, 강의 시간에 학생들에게 프로젝트를 수행시키는 교수자는 많지만, PBL을 제대로 활용하는 교수는 그리 많지 않다. PBL을 제대로 따라서 본 논문에서는 공학교육에서 PBL을 제대로 활용하는데 지침이 될 수 있도록, 컴퓨터공학의 데이터베이스(DB) 교과목에서 다년간 PBL을 활용해본 경험을 토대로, PBL의 수행과정과 프로젝트 주제 평가기준, 팀 프로젝트 평가방법, PBL의 수행여부 평가표 등을 제시하였다. 또한, PBL 활용의 장단점을 분석하여, PBL을 보다 효과적으로 활용하기 위한 보완사항을 제안하였다.
