This study was designed to assess demotivation factors and compare the factor between two secondary school student groups. It furthermore examined how the factors related to students' L2 proficiency. A 31-item questionnaire was completed by 407 junior (JH) and senior high school (SH) students. Five factors were extracted through the principal axis factoring: Teachers' competence and teaching styles, Dissatisfaction with English classes and grading system, Difficulty of learning English, Lack of motivation and interest in learning English, and Inadequate learning contents. Although both JH and SH students did not perceive their English teacher as a strong attribution of demotivation, Difficulty of learning English and Dissatisfaction with English classes and grading system were the two strongest demotivating factors. When compared the overall mean scores of each factor between JH and SH groups, significant differences were found in all factors except Factor 4, with SH students reporting stronger demotivation. JH students attributed their demotivation to Difficulty of learning English, while SH students attributed that to Dissatisfaction with English classes and grading system. Both groups tended to attribute their demotivation to external forces. The study also showed that several demotivation factors related negatively to L2 proficiency.
The purpose of this study is to identify which factors are important for learning performance and the moderating effects of self-regulated factors such as elaboration and organization between users characteristic(perceived usefulness, preparatory education, internet experience) and learning performance. To Accomplish these research purpose, this study performed a survey and 173 response were used for statistical analysis. The results of this study are as follows: First, 7 factors(ease of use, interactivity, accuracy, media richness, perceived usefulness, preparatory education, internet experience) had significant impacts on learning performance whereas reliability did not. Second, the moderating effects of self-regulated factors showed that Elaboration of self-regulated factors can be considered as a significant moderating variable between 2 factors(perceived usefulness, internet experience) and teaming performance.
As many universities introduce e-Learning classes as formal courses, numerous research topics relating to c-Learning such as, defining e-Learning, identifying factors affecting successful e-Learning deployment and examining relationships between the factors in e-Learning classes need to be focused on. However, most researches thai have been undertaken only consider the positive side or right functional dimension. This can result in e-Learning dissemination at universities being overlooked. In accordance with this indispensability, the negative factors, which are potentially inherent in e-Learning learner's perception and affect personnel e-Learning acceptance in university classes need 10 be acknowledged. The purpose of this study was to identify the negative factors affecting personnel e-Learning acceptance and to analyze the interrelation among the factors in this research model. The two independent variables avoidable convenience and reliant convenience, based on pilot test results, and self-efficacy and perceived playfulness, based on the relevant literature, are used to examine the research model. The research problem was tested with data collected from 446 respondents in 12 universities. This study developed and empirically analyzed a model representing the relationship by using the Structural Equation Model. The major findings of this study are, firstly, that the higher reliant convenience is negatively affecting the degree of system use and learner satisfaction, whereas avoidable convenience is only affecting the learner satisfaction. Secondly, the higher self-efficacy and stronger perceived playfulness affects the degree of system use as well as learner satisfaction. Finally, the degree of system use affects the learner satisfaction.

The purpose of this study is to substantiate the affecting factors of informal learning outcomes for professions in various dimensions of an individual and organization. In specific, the study analyzed the effects of learning motivation, job characteristics, and a supportive learning environment which have on task-related knowledge acquisition, adapting to organization and understanding contexts, relationship formation, and improving self-development-ability. The participants of the study were 261 professionals working at four major accounting firms in South Korea. Multiple regression models were applied step by step for analysis. In this study, the informal learning of professionals working at four major accounting firms is influenced by various factors of learning motivation, job characteristics, and a supportive learning environment. The detailed analysis results were as follows. Firstly, peer-support showed the most positive effect on task-related knowledge acquisition. Secondly, for adapting to organization and understanding contexts, task autonomy showed the greatest effect. Thirdly, peer-support was found to be the most important factor for relationship formation. Fourthly, for improving self-development ability, learning goal orientation showed to be the most important factor. The various factors facilitated the professional learning by empirical identification. The study presented practical implications for creating an effective informal learning support environment.
This study measured college students' levels of satisfaction with their cyber learning through an online survey of students who had taken one or more cyber learning before. 500 returned and usable questionnaires were analyzed and SPSS WIN 12.0 was used for the descriptive statistics, t-test, factor analysis and analysis of covariance structures. The results are as follows; First, college students were very interested in their cyber learning. Their decision to take the cyber learning was initiated more by emotional motives (m=3.13) than by rational motives (m=3.35). Second, the consumers' expectations for the cyber learning were divided into the 'Expectation for service quality' and the 'Expectation for economy,' and their 'Expectation for economy'(m=4.02) was higher than their 'Expectations for service quality'(m=3.60). Third, the consumers' expectations for the cyber learning and the results of the cyber learning were analyzed, and a discrepancy between these two were also analyzed. The analysis of discrepancy between the two showed that the average of the results was lower than that of the expectations, which means that the cyber learning did not meet the consumers' expectations in every aspect, However, the average satisfaction level was 3.20, which means consumers were satisfied with the cyber learning overall. Fourth, causes of dissatisfaction with the cyber learning were divided into internal factors due to personal matters and external factors due to classes and other factors. It was found that dissatisfaction due to internal factors was greater than that due to external factors. Lastly, the factors affecting satisfaction/dissatisfaction with the cyber learning and willingness to use it again were analyzed. The results showed that the motive for its use affected the formation of expectation but it did not affect the results. Satisfaction with the cyber learning affected the willingness to use it again positively. However, the effect of dissatisfaction on the willingness to use it again was not statistically significant.
This study was designed to determine the factors affecting learner satisfaction and examine the relationships of these factors in mobile learning linked to pre-existing e-learning in universities. In the structural model used, three mobile learning quality factors are the endogenous variables, namely, system quality (SYQ), information quality (INQ) and service quality (SEQ) perceived by students, and learner satisfaction (LS), whereas students' self-efficacy (SE) and experience (EX) in mobile learning are the exogenous variables. The subjects were 900 students who registered for mobile learning courses offered by a private university in Seoul, Korea. The results indicated that SE in mobile learning had positive effects on SYQ, INQ, and SEQ. Furthermore, SE influenced LS when analyzed without quality factors as parameters. Mobile learning EX directly affected INQ, but not SYQ or SEQ. EX likewise had a direct effect on LS when analyzed without quality factors as parameters. Meanwhile, both SYQ and INQ showed a positive effect on LS, but not SEQ. SE and EX affected LS indirectly when SYQ and INQ were used as parameters. This study addresses the importance of increasing SE, EX, SYQ, and INQ to increase LS in mobile learning in universities
The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of the digital textbook attribute factors on the learning interest and learning satisfaction using the structural equation model. In order to accomplish the purpose, the research was carried out with 325 students of digital textbook research school. Attribute factors of digital textbook are divided into self-concept of subjects and attribute factors of subjects. Self-concept of subjects is consist of superiority feeling and confidence. Attribute factors of subjects is interest, a sense of purpose, accomplishment motive. The results of this study can be summarized that the digital textbook attribute factors on the learning interest are signified confidence, interest, a sense of purpose, accomplishment motive. And the digital textbook attribute factors on the learning interest are signified learning satisfaction.
The purpose of this study is to empirically investigate critical success factors for effective implementation of web-based distance learning system. First of all, four critical success factors are theoretically derived from reviewing previous research. They are: (1) learner-related factor including the variables such as teaming ability, learning attitude, and attending motivation, (2) environmental factor including the variables of physical and mental support for learners, (3) instructional design factor represented by one variable, the degree of appropriateness of learning contents, and (4) the factor concerning the level of self-directed learning readiness embracing the variables such as curiosity for learning, openness towards challenge of learning and affection for learning. Subsequently, the relationships between these four critical success factors and the degree of learning satisfaction are empirically investigated. The data for empirical analysis of the research are collected from 1,020 respondents who have already passed the web-based distance learning courses which have been implemented in Information and Communication Officials Training Institute. Out of 1,020 responded questionnaires, 875 data were available for statistical analyses. The main results of this study are as follows. Firstly, the most important factor for successful implementation of the web-based distance learning system is shown to be the instructional design factor, and in the next place, the self-directed learning readiness factor, the environmental factor and the learner-related one in sequence. Secondly, additional analysis of the variables included in the instructional design factor shows that availability of practical information and knowledge is the most influencing variable, and next, interesting composition of contents, reasonable learning amount, optimal level of instruction, and understandable explanation are significantly important in the descending order. Lastly, among learning motivators, strong intention of acquiring business knowledges and skills is found to be the most important satisfier in the web-based distance learning. The theoretical contribution of this study is to derive a comprehensive model of critical success factors for implementing the web-based distance learning system. And, the practical implication of this study is to propose efficient and effective guidelines for developing and operating the web-based distance learning system in the various kinds of organizations.
The problem of poor learning has been a subject that has been constantly raised in the educational field since the mid 20th century. Therefore, this study classified the components of self - regulated learning into cognitive - control, motive - control, and behavior - control strategies, and examined the effects of self - regulated learning on internal value, self - efficacy, curiosity, and self - confidence. The study was conducted on university students who participated in the program for the study of depression in A university in Changwon city. The results showed that self - regulated learning factors had a positive effect on learning motivation. Second, the learning adjustment factors have a positive effect on self - efficacy. Finally, learning control factors have a positive effect on curiosity and self - confidence. Through this study, we confirmed that a comprehensive guidance system considering interaction is needed because various factors act integrally in the learning process. As a concrete method, it is imperative to develop a learning counseling program that can enhance the motivation level by referring to cognitive, synchronous, and behavioral factors.

This study explores factors to facilitate web-based collaborative learning and the effect of learning, based on the PBL(Problem Based Learning) from the constructivist approach in e-learning. A research model, using the key variables such as situations, interactions, and systems, was developed. In order to test this proposed model, experimental design and post-survey was conducted to the learners who took on-line and off-line course with team project. In the research model, situation category was divided into instructor's support, unstructured problem, and self-directed learning. Interaction category was divided into three factors; 'interaction between learners', 'interaction between learner and instructor', and 'interaction between learner and technology'. System category was divided into.monitoring and incentives. As a result, it was found that collaborative learning can be improved by situations, interactions, and systems, and the effectiveness of learning can be improved by situations and interactions in PBL.
