세계화 시대를 맞아 영어 교육에 대한 필요성은 점차 증가하고 있다. 이에 따라 아동기 영어 교육에 대한 관심이 점차 증가함과 동시에 잘못된 교육 방식에 의한 부작용 또한 증가하고 있다. 아동기의 영어 학습 프로그램은 공부가 아닌 놀이의 측면으로 접근하는 것이 중요하다. 본 논문은 기존의 주입식 영어 학습을 탈피하고 놀이로써 접근하기 위한 음성 조합 및 인식을 이용한 양방향 영어 학습 프로그램의 설계 및 구현에 대하여 논한다.

With the advent of robust deep learning method, Neural machine translation has recently become a dominant paradigm and achieved adequate results in translation between popular languages such as English, German, and Spanish. However, its results in under-resourced languages Korean and Vietnamese are still limited. This paper reports an attempt at constructing a bidirectional Korean-Vietnamese Neural machine translation system with the supporting of Korean analysis tool - UTagger, which includes morphological analyzing, POS tagging, and WSD. Experiment results demonstrate that UTagger can significantly improve translation quality of Korean-Vietnamese NMT system in both translation direction. Particularly, it improves approximately 15 BLEU scores for the translation from Korean to Vietnamese direction and 3.12 BLEU scores for the reverse direction.

This study used Hierarchical Linear Modeling analysis to investigate the effects of individual self-regulated cognitive strategies and public education on middle school students' academic achievement. Participants were 6389 (boys 3287, girls 3102) middle school students from the 2005 data of the Korea Education Longitudinal Study. Results were as follows : (1) there were significant differences among different schools in middle school students' academic achievement, i.e. 20% of variance in English achievement and 15% of variance in mathematics achievement were explained by school differences. (2) Students' elaboration and meta-cognitive strategy influenced academic achievement positively. (3) Predictor variables by ability grouping, supplementary class, and/or self-learning class had no significant effects on students' academic achievement.

Recent experimental studies have shown that language-users' knowledge of the statistical characteristic of their native language plays a key role in their task performance. One specific instance of this that the current study focuses on is the effect of phonotactic probabilities on speakers' wordlikeness judgment of nonwords. In this paper, I explore the question of whether the judgment of Korean speaking subjects as to the wordlikeness of Korean nonsense words is influenced by the degree of association between two-phoneme sequences in Korean. The current results suggest that the objective measure of correlations (expressed by $r_{\phi}$ values) between an onset consonant and a vowel inside Korean syllables play an important role in Korean speakers' nonword processing. The current results additionally indicate an effect of the correlations of two-phoneme sequences including vowels and coda consonants on nonword processing. Implications of these findings for Korean speakers' learning the correlations between adjacent segments inside the syllable are discussed.

The purpose of this research is to find out the problem of plan composition by use the school building. The research was performed through the checking of 13 high schools which were built after 1997 in Busan. Followings are the result of the research. Presently, all the schools are divided classes into different levels and teach students, however, it is only limited to English and Mathematics and being carried on mostly for 1st graders. Moreover, although the plan is composed Department System plan which intended to ues new various learning method, schools have changed their plan into Usual with Variation type which is old educational program and renovated a few classes for certain subjects. Due to above reasons, the new kinds of space for Department System plan is used only as a study room by reform or even not used at all. Therefore, improvement of those problems are significant in schools.

The aim of this paper is to suggest an index of coarticulation, proportional undershoot values, given the observation that absolute undershoot within a language tends to be proportional to target-locus difference. The target-locus proportionality predicts that a large difference between the consonant locus and the vowel target will result in a large amount of vowel undershoot, while a small difference a small amount of vowel undershoot. It turns out that the proportional undershoot is a potentially more appropriate way of comparing degree of undershoot across languages. However, even though the proportional undershoot measurement may provide a useful index comparing the overall coarticulation degree in a CV token for cross-linguistic data, it is concluded that it may potentially wrongly predict the cases of transfer or error as a progress in learning.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the after school program in the rural community and the demands of children, parents and teachers for the after school program. Elementary school teachers, parents and children in the farming areas an over the 9 providences responded to the questionnaires developed by the researchers. Conclusions were that almost teachers, parents and children wanted and needed after school program. The after school care's current status was low with lack of teachers for the after school program and financial support. The teachers and parent wanted learning enrichment and talent education-oriented after school program rather than child care-oriented. The most wanted program contents by teachers, parents and children were computer education, English, arts, social development.

본 연구는 음성 인식 기술을 적용해서 시범적으로 영어 학습 제품을 제작하고 이것을 현장에 적용한 후 설문과 관찰을 통해 결과를 해석하는 Pilot Test로 계획되었다. 본 연구의 목적은 음성 인식 영어 학습 제품 사용 후, 학생들의 학습태도 변화를 확인하고, 실험에 참가한 회원, 학부모, 교사의 만족도를 조사하고, 영어 교육학 전공자를 통해서 음성인식 영어 학습 제품의 완성도를 조사 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 본 연구를 통해 도출된 data 들은 음성 인식 기술의 제품 적용 가능성을 검증해 주고, 향후 사업화 추진을 위한 근거 자료나 기초 자료로서의 역할을 할 것으로 기대한다.

현재 휴대폰을 통한 무선 인터넷 사용자가 급격한 증가폭을 보이고 있다. 또한 WIPI 탑재 의무화에 따른 WIPI 플랫폼을 탑재한 휴대폰이 본격적으로 출시되고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 제한된 공간을 벗어나 정보를 이용할 수 있는 모바일 기기를 활용하고, 영어 학습자들의 어휘력 증진에 도움이 되는 영단어 학습 시스템을 WIPI 기반의 플랫폼에서 설계하고 구현한 결과를 보인다.

Living in the age of information people face problems related to information overload. Information is easy to produce, store and distribute through various communication channels, one of which is emails. With the appearance of the mobile devices, such as smart phones and tabs, people can have access to email inbox at any moment of time from everywhere. In this paper we present information extraction system with a specific goal of extracting meeting location from the announcement of seminar or conference. We apply a machine learning method (conditional random fields, CRF), train the system using annotated corpus of seminar and conference announcements and validate results by applying various extracted correction rules and patterns. Furthermore, we normalize extracted location, and reference using geo-coding databases, OpenStreetMap and Wikipedia resources to determine real geographical coordinates.
