  • This paper considers the value of location in a linear city model and examines the product differentiation equilibrium of duopoly providing different benefits to consumers. We show that if the value of location is small, symmetric location equilibrium occurs where two firms follow the maximal differentiation principle. However, as the value of location increases, asymmetric location equilibrium occurs where the low-value-location firm moves to the high-value-location firm and thus adjusted maximal differentiation principle holds. We also investigate two different price leadership model and demonstrate the relationship between the value of location and the role of price leadership. In particular, we show that when the location value is high, the price leadership by high-value-location firm will appear as a unique equilibrium.

  • This research aimed to explore the relationship between the challenge and enjoyment dimensions of intrinsic motivation and employee creativity at an individual level. Besides, the study focused on investigating the moderating role of empowering leadership in promoting employee creativity at work. In particular, in the context of Vietnam's electricity industry, the power generation stage faces significant challenges, forcing to innovate and restructure strongly to respond flexibly to the requirements of the electricity market development in Vietnam as well as gradually integrate with other countries in Southeast Asia. The authors used structural equations modeling (SEM) combined with Hayes' moderator variable analysis method (2017) based on primary data. The data included 550 questionnaires from technicians, engineers, and experts directly involved in the operation and production of 36 power generation businesses Vietnam. The results showed the relationship between the enjoyment dimension of intrinsic motivation and employee creativity is not statistically significant, which partly explains the instability of the link between intrinsic motivation and employee creativity. Meanwhile, the challenge dimension is positively associated with employee creativity, but this relationship is more robust in empowering leadership. The study also indicated the challenge dimension of intrinsic motivation is an important predictor of employee creativity.

In order to achieve the objective of the study, a research framework had been developed to establish a relationship among the variables of the study based on resource-based view theory. Questionnaire method was used to collect the data form middle to top level employees in GLCs. All the items in the study's variables were assessed using the 5-point Likert scale. A stratified random sampling technique was used to identify the sample for this study. Data was derived from 135 middle to top level employees, which were involved in decision making process. The data was analyzed using the SPSS and the SmartPLS 3.0 software. This supplemented the theory surrounding blue ocean leadership styles and strategic decision making. • Over the past decades, Bangladesh has fought poverty via labor-intensive industry and inclusive financing. The techniques assist underprivileged women in achieving self-sufficiency and encourage them to pursue independent endeavors. However, the majority of female entrepreneurs focused on four key company types: parlor, boutique, clothes, and fashion, all of which have limited access to financing. It was feared that their shortage of finance was hindering the growth of their company. The study's goal is to assess the effects of financial availability and knowledge on women's entrepreneurship development in Bangladesh via the lens of transformational leadership practices. A sample of 580 SMEs was considered for data collection with a structured questionnaire: a five-point Likert scale for getting responses from SMEs. The model coefficients with structural equation modeling revealed that financial accessibility plays a positive and statistically significant role in women's entrepreneurship development. Moreover, knowledge level established positive interlinkage with women's entrepreneurship development. Transformational leadership, which plays a mediating role in leadership practices, has been linked to the development of women's entrepreneurship indirectly and positively. As a result, support for knowledge creation and external financing must evolve and be made available to ensure women's sustainable development through entrepreneurial activities.

  • As franchise industry has grown, the role of a supervisor who is a contact point between franchisor and franchisees has become more vital to success of the business. This research, focusing on his/her specific role, explores communication type, leadership type, and followership type of the supervisor in relations with the organization, franchisor, and franchisees, respectively. Furthermore, we compared performance of franchises by the three types above through the franchise contract management leverage (FCML) which reflects business performance both qualitatively and quantitatively. According to the analysis on supervisors of a franchise business, 'Ganiyeok', the majority of supervisors' communication type were either supportive style or directive style. For the leadership type, team-type and impoverished-type leaders were the majority, while effective or passive followership appeared highest in followership type. In addition, supportive supervisors in communication style, team-type supervisors in leadership style, and effective supervisors in followership had highest FCML, while reflective and directive styles, impoverished style, and passive style had lowest FCML. Primary goal of a franchise business is stable profit generation. This study not only examined what characteristics supervisors need and which style is insufficient, but also proposed tailored solutions for each style. Thus, we confirmed that debates on franchise can be approached in perspective of both communication and business, and we further suggest diverse approaches on future franchise business.
