At present, the highest operation speed of general domestic train is in the level of 140km/h and it is being improved to reach at the level of 200km/h in 2011. The improved environment of train operation speed which inevitably occurs owing to the operation of KTX on the existing line badly requires technology development such as testing and evaluating technology of factors hindering high speed of railway infrastructure including railway bridge, technology to ensure operation safety and technology to evaluate structure stability. Comparing dynamic numerical interpretation for railway truss bridge and load of design standard by using dynamic response measurement and analysis for the railway truss bridge currently in use, this study established the improvement program to ensure the lateral dynamic safety of truss bridge with the increased speed of train.

Coupled lateral vibrations of shafting is analyzed by the Finite Element Method. In the problem formulation axial force, elastic foundation effects and rotary inertia effects are taken into account. A computer program is developed to calculate natural frequencies of the shafting, and used to calculate natural frequencies of the experimental model shafting, which the author used for the paper[11]. The results show good agreement with the measured values. The results are also compared with those of the Transfer Matrix Method. From the comparison it is found that both results agree each other.
The use of the CWR track has increased consistently in the worldwide. Because the use of CWR track not only reduces the track maintenance cost, noise and vibration, but increases the life cycle of track components. Therefore, to increase train speed, improve riding condition and secure running stability, the necessity of study on making CWR is increasing. This study includes the development of a thermal buckling theory in the evaluation of curved track stability. The lateral stability of curved CWR is studied for track buckling prevention through the parameter studies. It studied the lateral buckling of the curved CWR track on the 3-D nonlinear analysis. The parameters include rail size, cant, track curvature.
This paper presents and compares a one-dimensional (1D) bending theory for piezoelectric thin beam-type structures with resistive-inductive electrodes to ANSYS$^{(R)}$ three-dimensional (3D) finite element (FE) analysis. In particular, the lateral deflections and vibrations of slender piezoelectric beams are considered. The peculiarity of the piezoelectric beam model is the modeling of electrodes in such a manner that is does not fulfill the equipotential area condition. The case of ideal, perfectly conductive electrodes is a special case of our 1D model. Two-coupled partial differential equations are obtained for the lateral deflection and for the voltage distribution along the electrodes: the first one is an extended Bernoulli-Euler beam equation (second-order in time, forth order in space) and the second one the so-called Telegrapher's equation (second-order in time and space). Analytical results of our theory are validated by 3D electromechanically coupled FE simulations with ANSYS$^{(R)}$. A clamped-hinged beam is considered with various types of electrodes for the piezoelectric layers, which can be either resistive and/or inductive. A natural frequency analysis as well as quasi-static and dynamic simulations are performed. A good agreement between the extended beam theory and the FE results is found. Finally, the practical relevance of this type of electrodes is shown. It is found that the damping capability of properly tuned resistive or resistive-inductive electrodes exceeds the damping performance of beams, where the electrodes are simply linked to an optimized impedance.
In this study, it have been measured the vertical and lateral vibrations of car bodies which have an equivalent conicity of 1/20 and 1/40. Based on the measured data, it is revealed that the wheel, XP-50, which has the equivalent conicity of 1/20 causes the better riding comfort of KTX.
This paper attempts to extract the fundamental dynamic properties, i.e. natural frequencies, damping ratios of the 48 m-long, $20^{\circ}$ skewed real bridge with PSC girders wrapped by a steel plate. The forced vibration test is achieved by mounting 12 Hz-capacity of artificial oscillator on the top of bridge deck. The acceleration histories at the 9 different locations of deck surface are recorded using accelerometors. From this full-scaled vibration test, the two possible resonance frequencies are detected at 2.38 Hz and 9.86 Hz of the skewed bridge deck by sweeping a beating frequency up to 12 Hz. The absolute acceleration/energy exhibits much higher in case of higher-order twist mode, 9.86 Hz due to the skewness of bridge deck which leads asymmetric situation of vibration. This implies the test bridge is under swinging vertically in fundamental flexure mode while the bridge is also flickered up and down laterally at 9.86 Hz. This is probably by asymmetric geometry of skewed deck. A detailed 3D beam-shell bridge models using finite elements are performed under a series of train loads for modal dynamic analyses. Thereby, the effect of skewness is examined to clarify the lateral flickering caused by asymmetrical geometry of bridge deck.

The cross-section warping due to the passage of high-speed trains can be a relevant issue to consider in the dynamic analysis of bridges due to (i) the usual layout of railway systems, resulting in eccentric moving loads; and (ii) the use of cross-sections prone to warping deformations. A thin-walled beam formulation for the dynamic analysis of bridges including the cross section warping is presented in this paper. Towards a numerical implementation of the beam formulation, a finite element with seven degrees of freedom is proposed. In order to easily consider the compatibility between elements, and since the coupling between flexural and torsional effects occurs in non-symmetric cross-sections due to dynamic effects, a single axis is considered for the element. The coupled flexural-torsional free vibration of thin-walled beams is analysed through the presented beam model, comparing the results with analytical solutions presented in the literature. The dynamic analysis due to an eccentric moving load, which results in a coupled flexural-torsional vibration, is considered in the literature by analytical solutions, being therefore of a limited applicability in practice engineering. In this paper, the dynamic response due to an eccentric moving load is obtained from the proposed finite element beam model that includes warping by a modal analysis.
The purpose of this study is to investigate muscle function and symmetry index during whole body vibration exercise using lower extremity training posture for throwing athletes. For throwing athletes in their 20s(6 males, 4 females, age: 24.60±0.92years, height: 177.90±7.40cm, weight: 92.90±22.97kg), lower extremity training postures with squat, carphrase, and lunge movements. Whole body vibration exercise training was performed using. Tensiomyography(TMG) variables Time Delay(Td), Time Contraction(Tc), Time Sustain(Ts) Time Relaxation(Tr), and Displacement Maximumal(Dm) in the lower extremity joint muscles(biceps femoris(BF), gastrocnemius lateral(GL), gastrocnemius medial(GM), rectus femoris(RF), tibialis anterior(TA), lateral vastus(LV), medial latissimus(ML)), were measured to compare and analyze muscle activity, muscle fatigue, and left-right symmetry. The results of the study are left RF, VL, right VM (p<.05) in Td, VM (p<.05) in Tc, GM in Ts (p<.05), left RF in Tr, and right TA (p<. 05) showed a change. Therefore, it has been proven that various whole-body vibration training is an effective exercise with changes in muscle contraction, and stability of the core is secured by symmetry of the left and right muscles. For this reason, the whole body vibration exercise will have a positive effect on rehabilitation training, and it is believed that it will be able to improve performance.

In 2017 Pohang Earthquake, a number of residential buildings with pilotis at their first level were severely damaged. In this study, the results of an analytical investigation on the seismic performance and structural damage of two bearing wall buildings with pilotis are presented. The vibration mode and lateral force-resisting mechanism of the buildings with vertical and plan irregularity were investigated through elastic analysis. Then, based on the investigations, methods of nonlinear modeling for walls and columns at the piloti level were proposed. By performing nonlinear static and dynamic analyses, structural damages of the walls and columns at the piloti level under 2017 Pohang Earthquake were predicted. The results show that the area and arrangement of walls in the piloti level significantly affected the seismic safety of the buildings. Initially, the lateral resistance of the piloti story was dominated mainly by the walls resisting in-plane shear. After shear cracking and yielding of the walls, the columns showing double-curvature flexural behavior contributed significantly to the residual strength and ductility.

A rotordynamic analysis was performed with a decant-type centrifuge, which is a kind of industrial centrifuge. The system is composed of screw rotor, bowl rotor, driving motors, gear box, and support rolling element bearings. These rotors have a rated speed of 4300 rpm, and were modeled utilizing a rotordynamic FE method for analysis, which was verified through 3-D FE analysis. Design goals are to achieve wide separation margins of lateral critical speeds, and favorable unbalance responses of the rotor in the operating range. Then, a complex analysis rotordynamic analysis of the system was carried out to evaluate its forward synchronous critical speeds and mode shapes, whirl natural frequencies, and unbalance responses under various balance grade. As a result of analysis, the rotordynamic analysis performed by separating a screw rotor and bowl rotor may cause an error in predicting critical speed of entire system. Therefore, the rotordynamic analysis of a coupled rotor combining a screw and bowl rotor must be performed in order to more accurately estimate dynamic characteristics of the decanter-type centrifuge as presented in this paper. Also, rolling element bearings with suitable stiffness should be selected to keep enough separation margin. In addition, in establishing balance grade of a screw and bowl rotor, ISO G2.5 balance grade is more recommended than ISO G6.3, in particular balancing correction of a screw rotor based on ISO G2.5 grade is strongly recommended.
